[ONESHOT unless Cam Pyetr responds]
Gunne had been in Beldam for about two months now. The first week, she had been able to talk with @temperance , but ever since she had been ball-gagged. Perhaps Cam Pyetr hadn't appreciated her talking with an old friend. It wasn't like Gunne had gotten an explanation. It was clear that she was the criminal here, or at least that Cam considered her to be the bad guy. The gag stayed on for most of the day, with the exception of when she would drink or eat. If she had been acting up or not cooperating, they wouldn't give her a break from the gag at all. It had started to effect her teeth, and her tongue felt numb all the time.
Her only friend in here was the bucket in the corner of the room, which she tried to avoid until she really had to go. She missed the outhouse, and was only now able to appreciate the fact that the toilet hadn't been right next to her back when she still lived at her own estate. It was degrading, and Cam really made a point of not allowing her to feel like a human being anymore.
During the first few weeks, she fought back each and every time. One time when the gag was off, she had summoned another creature. Cam's men had been able to kill it, and the gag had stayed on for a few days as a result of what she had done. She had only been allowed to drink again when she felt like she was seriously about to die. After the incident, she realised that not complying meant she would be killing herself. Her actions didn't have any consequences for anyone other than herself. Her creatures weren't powerful enough, and from within her cell, she couldn't hurt anyone.
She tried to look for Rosamere Osxiano whenever they took her out of her cell, but trying to yell out her cousin's name whenever she wasn't gagged resulted in being denied food and water. She had quickly given up on finding out if this was also were Rosa had gone. At first she had hoped that if her cousin was here, it would mean that she was still alive, but the odds of staying alive in this place weren't that high. If you fought back, you would be punished. She wondered if Cam had informed Keelan Morrigan or Added Morrigan of her whereabouts or if she had vanished, just like Rosa had.
The constant dripping in the corner of her cell also hadn't stopped. It was an ever-present sound in her room, and it had caused her to yell, cry, shout and rock back and forth, if she wasn't already in a fetal position, asking herself how it had come to this. Cam had arrested her for her anti-Rainecourt sentiments. Did the crown support this treatment? She hadn't planned a coup, she hadn't attempted to kill any royals, yet they treated her as if she had commited high treason. Gunne doubted she would ever be allowed outside again.
Then there was the penance. Sitting on rocks, balancing books above her head on her hands, meaningless punishment. It was torture, and eventually it led to Gunne not having to wear the gag all the time anymore. Not as a privilege, but because they had broken her enough to get her to shut up. She wasn't rebellious anymore. The effects the torture had on her we're about the same as if someone had hit a wrong part of her brain during a lobotomy. She wasn't herself anymore. She wasn't Gunne Cortell or Gunne Morrigan anymore. She was Gunned, prisoner of Cam, prisoner at Beldam.
Perhaps someone had given her a potion, or perhaps there had been a surgery, like the previously mentioned lobotomy, that Gunne didn't remember, but she was a puppet now. She didn't think for herself anymore. Whatever opinions were fed to her were the ones she would reproduce. She was under a lot of pressure but didn't even realise it herself. Her mental state was horrible. It could go two ways. She would either snap completely and go on a killing spree, attempting to curse anyone she saw, summon any creature she could think of, or she would become a pawn to Cam, if he played his hand right.
