The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
It had been standard combat training. He was with Veda of course but they weren't training in any werewolf stuff, just typical battle strategies when working in a pair. It had gone pretty well but after their session Fred started to realize that his left index finger was bothering him. He didn't pay too much attention to it but the next morning it was more sore.
Upon closer inspection he found a rather large sliver of wood that had got imbedded under his skin and was causing all the trouble. He spent a good hour trying to get it out but in the end he may have only pushed it deeper and the aching wasn't less any distracting. He, again, tried to just ignore it while he trained the next day as well but by the end of that day he decided maybe he should go see a professional about it.
So he made his way to the healer's tent and tried to not be in anyone's way as he looked around for someone who might be able to help him.

It was another standard day for Kora working away. Looking after the soldiers here, it the only thing that brings her joy. Brings her life, joy in everything. Well aside from her daughter, her daughter was the one thing that kept Kora going outside of her work. It push her to try and find things to improve, to make the world they live in a better place.
Well she was at work she looked at who was in and she noticed that Lord Delaney was in. She wondered what brings him in today so she walked over with a warm smile on her face. "It always a blessing to get a Delaney in here. What may I help you with today?" She knows that with some of the soldiers she can relax about with her manner to make them feel more relax.
Fred smiled with a tight, embarrassed look when the witch commented on his surname. It always came with expectations and though Fred had always fought to live up to that impressive name, he always felt like he fell short. His reason for being here today only proved that point.
"Oh, um, my finger has been bothering me for a few days. I think it's a-" his face turned a deep shade of red as he held out his finger which was red and a bit inflamed. "I think it's a splinter," he finished. "I tried to get it out myself," he added, speaking more quickly to try and defend himself but soon his words faltered again, "but I think I just made it worse." Shame.

Kora give a soft smile, hoping that Fredrick becomes more relaxed, at the end of the day, she wants a relationship between her and her patience that speaks of trust. They are here to be looked after and it harder for her to look after them if they are not relaxed around her. "There is nothing to be embarrassed about. You will be surprised how many soldiers come in here with splinters." Trying to make a joke out of the situation.
Kora softly took Fred's hand as she takes a close look at it, being careful not to poke at it, to asses how deep it is. It looks slightly infected however she thought best not to tell Fred that, not at the moment. As Koralia started prepping stuff to take the splinter out and also numb his finger. "I am going to first try and take the splinter out, I will need you to try and sit as still as possible for me. If it helps talk about a subject that interest you as I do. But first i am going to numb the area, it might sting but that is normal."
Fred appreciated that she was trying to make him feel better but he was fairly certain she was lying to him. He very much doubted that people often came in for something as dumb as a splinter. He was imagining far more serious injuries or illness than that. Still he gave her a little grateful smile and let her take a look at his injury.
He nodded when she explained what she was going to do but didn't start talking about anything, just watching as she expertly began to work in a way that told him she was very skilled in what she did.

Giving him a soft smile as Kora started to get to work. If Fred flinched, Kora would try and encourage him to not move. Grabbing a pair of what look like a old-fashion tweezers and using it to grab the spinter, making sure she got a good grip on it and "of the count of three. One, two..." Without saying three she pulled the splinter out and looked at it. "Wow that's a long one, no wonder you couldn't get it out Lord Daneley." putting it to one side.
Fred did his best to hold still but she did have to direct him not to move once. He tried to take calm, steadying breaths as she worked. He winced when she pulled out the splinter before she said three and then looked at the splinter as she set it down. It was pretty long actually, he was surprised.
He looked at it for a full two seconds before he finally let his tense muscles loosen and he let out a soft "Owwww," whimpered sound.

Giving a soft smile. At least she knows that there is no nerve damage left by the splinter or possible infection. "I need to have a closer look at the finger now the splinter is out. Finding a way to clean up this infection up." Taking his hand and inspected his finger to see how far down the infection had gone. Cause depends on how far it went down and if it went down to his hand, it will depend on what treatment he will receive. "tell me if you feel any pain?" She would also look for any redness and warmth and not just the standered warmth of somebodies hand.
Fred tried to keep his eyes from watering as she manipulated his finger. She was very thorough and he was glad for that but it was twinging a bit. "A little," he said, his voice cracking slightly so he cleared his throat and repeated it what he hoped was a more 'manly' sound. "Just a little."

Kora looked at the man in front of her for a moment, it was funny that he was trying to sound manly in front of her. She have seen loads of soldiers in here both of noble households and common. It is sometimes surprising to see the most manly of men get scared of the little blood. Pressing around the edges when he explained that it hurt a little bit. "Okay even though you says a little bit I am going to treat it for an infection." She explained.
She grabbed this peppermint-scented cream tubbed. She then started rubbing it in. "I would like you to use this for a weak on the area, if it get any worse the pain, gets red, swollen, any signs of stiffness or discolouration come back, no if, and or buts."
Fred inhaled a deep breath, enjoying the scent of the cream as she rubbed it into the wound. He really hoped it didn't get infected. He'd have to make sure he listened and did as she directed. Maybe he'd tell Veda to make sure he did it.
Fred looked up at Koralia with a near sheepish expression at her demands. "Yes ma'am," he said obediently. Fred had always responded well to an authoritative woman.

Kora, takes her job serious but once the soldiers are discharged there only she has to trust that they follow her instructions and don't just think that because they no longer in the military wing they don't have to carry on with instructions. So she was happy enough that he would, "Is there anything I can help you with?" She asked.
She really was a powerful looking woman, commanding and authoritative. It was definitely doing something for him and he blushed at the thought. He shook his head when she asked her question. "N- No thank you. I think that's it. Thanks for your help Lady Barkirtis," he said as he stood. "I'll be sure to let you know if anything comes up."
As he stepped out of the tent his shoulder smacked against the pole at the entrance and his face turned beet red again in embarrassment for his clumsiness and he scurried away.
