[For Akagi Llewellyn]
It was the day after the attack on the wall. Cordelia hadn't fought, but instead she had helped the people and had been on the street urging everyone she saw to go back home and stay there until further notice. Adrenaline had rushed through her veins. Arynn Frey had been peaceful for a long time and her wariness in regard to the Eldouir had proven to be justified. They needed to get them out of Dresmond. They were far too much of a treat to have at their southern border.
She had heard talk of the meeting that had happened after the attack. She wasn't sure what had ended the attack, but she knew the wall was in shambles. They would need to rebuild or create new enchantments to keep the redheads out of Arynn Frey. But what had caught her attention the most was that apparently Akagi had taken over control of the kingdom. Supposedly his mother, her sister-in-law, had stepped down.
The day after the attack, a guard informed her that Akagi wished to speak with her. She was curious to hear what her nephew wanted. She was rather close with him, so it wasn't unusual for them to meet, but with the whole attack in mind, she wondered if he had a task for her. She had never been officially involved in the government of Arynn Frey, but she had been advising her nephews wherever she could.
The woman's heeled boots announced her arrival before she reached the door. She knocked and waited to be let in.
Once she was allowed to enter, her ever present smile greeted Akagi. She had a kind and warm look in her eyes, but worry and wonder were also present. "My dear nephew", she said, holding open her arms while approaching his desk. "Congratulations, your majesty." Her smile remained for a few moments longer before it became less of a priority, although it didn't fully disappear. "Did Kimora step down willingly?" That was her main question. All other questions she had could wait for now. All she wanted to know was if this change in power would have consequences for the family. Urging your mother to step down could surely create some tension.
