The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

(takes place immediately after Kaalims beast battle; this thread will involve Aenwyn who will NPC Imani Father)
Kaalim with his golden horn tucked under his arm and after a quick patch and clean up the former Chieftain had only one destination, Rakeem Jimarson the Father of Imani . For sometime Kaalim had wrestled with the idea of taking another wife today's victory and their dinner together had given him the answer he needed. He made straight for the man's home where there was a host of his sons celebrating the events of the festival (everyone partied everywhere throughout Gilead during the Vers festival) he gave them all the respect of a Coheed warrior pounding a fist against his chest, "I have to come to speak with Rakeem Jimarson..." he was proud and spoke proudly as he stood towering over Rakeem's sons waiting for their Father.
The man had returned from the battles with his sons, and was enjoying the festivities that went along with it. He had just went inside of their home to freshen up a bit by splashing some cool water onto his face when alone of his sons came running inside. "Father, Kaalim Cyrilson wants to speak to you." The man raised an eyebrow. While he didn't agree with everything Kaalim had done in Gilead during his chieftainship, he did like the man. He was a good warrior and a nice guy. Of course he immediately hoped that this was about Imani. His girl had been spending some time with the former chieftain recently, and everyone knew how eager he was to find her a new husband after her previous one had passed away.
Rakeem dried his hands and went outside again. He pounded a fist against his chest. "Kaalim Cyrilson. Congratulations on your victory. You wanted to see me. Come in." The golden horn under his arm made him believe Kaalim had indeed come here to talk about Imani, which brought a small smile to the otherwise very serious man's face.

Kaalim followed Rakeem into his dwelling, ducking his large frame to enter, "You are a gracious warrior Rakeem and a humble host," Kaalim began before just jumping to the point, "I will not waste our time as to my reasons for being here, for seven long years your daughter Imani has not remarried nor has she bared any children, I wish to remedy this and ask for her hand in marriage," he offered the gold and jewel encrusted horn to Rakeem, "First I offer you the Golden Horn of Tywin...plus I have two more chests of more silver and gold ready for this dowry, when the time comes and my daughters are of age I offer them to your future grandsons...strong stock Cyrilson and Jimarson will be a strong union as time goes...but this is my offer for payment..."
Mizett and Ida saw the look on their husband's face. Rakeem knew Kaalim was here to ask for Imani's hand. The two wives left the room so the men could speak, and they were happy. Rakeem had been telling Imani to get married over and over again for the last few years, and each time she would say she would as soon as she found the right man. Her late husband had been a good man, but it was time that she found herself a new husband and bared some more children, before the age gap between her youngest and a new child would be too big.
Rakeem listened to Kaalim and appreciated that the man didn't want to waste his time. He reached out when the man offered him the horn and turned it around in his hands a few times. Then he placed it down on the table and crossed his arms while Kaalim continued telling him what else he offered him for his daughter's hand. When he was done, he remained in the position a moment longer before offering the previous chieftain a hand. "I accept your offer, Kaalim Cyrilson. You are a good man and I have seen the way my daughter looks at you. She will be happy to marry you, and I will be happy to have my grandsons marry your daughters." He smiled a little. "I think she would appreciate the news coming from you. She's tired of her old man asking her about marriage."

Kaalim had been in this position (save for his first marriage to Deoshia; his Father had put that marriage together after Kaalims first blood) five times in his life, every time he personally asked the Father's of the daughters he wished to marry for their hand. He was never nervous and had never been turned down because Kaalim in truth had the biggest reputation within the lands of Coheed his first wife had always said Kaalim was destined to be written in songs and sagas for generations to come.
A smile broke across the big man's face as Rakeem agreed and Kaalim took the man's offered hand, "I am very glad to hear this Rakeem, and as you wish I will go and share the great news with Imani and may you have a bountiful year this year warrior. I will promise to protect your daughter and her children to my fullest ability, and bless you with strong grandchildren both grandsons and granddaughters."
The man's smile was contagious, and Mizett and Ida giggled softly, having followed the conversation from just outside the room. Rakeem was also smiling, but less in a giggly way than his wives. Soroya, Imani's mother, (who I have foolishly forgotten to mention before because I thought she is dead but she isn't lol) hadn't been present for the conversation, but she would be happy to hear the news upon her return from the village.
They shook hands. "Wonderful, wonderful", the man said. "We will have a small feast tonight, for you and Imani, to celebrate this marriage and your win during the games." With that discussed and concluded, he would wait to hear if Kaalim had anything else to say. If he didn't, he would say goodbye to the warrior and walk him back outside before gathering his wives to prepare a meal for the gathering that evening.
