IBRAHIM BASHAR
GENERAL
Name: Ibrahim Bashar
Age: Fifty
Birth Season: Spring
Occupation: Family head / off-site trainer
Kingdom: Nevermere
Citizen Status: Noble
PHYSICAL
Height: 6'2Weight: 198lbs
Body Description: Ibrahim is a sight to behold. He is tall and rather muscular, although if he isn't training soldiers, he hides these muscles in expensive suits made of the finest fabrics (sourced from the sheep that are born and raised on Bashar grounds, of course). He has long, dark hair that he mostly wears in a bun, and a thick, beautiful beard. Apart from that, his nose is his most prominent feature.
PERSONAL
THE OLD WAYS - The Bashar does not respect or follow the changes made by the Rainecourt family. They are supporters of the Ellis and very anti-Rainecourt. Ibrahim does not obey the King, and does not want to participate in the centralized military under Rainecourt reign. To achieve his goal, he had to betray his own values and work together with the military, but he finds peace in knowing it's for the greater good.
ORDER AND DISCIPLINE - The family needs to listen to him. He is the highest authority figure of the Bashar family and does not appreciate people disagreeing with him. The family respect him and knows what he is capable of, both in what he can achieve and how he can punish those who do not follow his orders.
FAMILY - The most important thing to Ibrahim is his family. Not necessarily in the loving father kind of way - although he does love his children, but he's not always great at showing he loves them - but in a way that if his family isn't strong, their plan won't succeed. Marriage is important as well, and matches are made with the well-being of the family in mind. Children are not allowed to marry into families that are neutral or pro-Rainecourt. Luckily, where they live, most families that inhabit the residences around Lakeview Keep, are like-minded people, and ever since permanently moving to the Bashar Lake, the Bashar family has been marrying those who live nearby.
Aspirations/Ambitions: Ibrahim's greatest ambition is removing Cassian Rainecourt from the throne. Although there would need to be a successor, his main priority is removing the Rainecourts from the palace. He wants to find the lost Ellis prince and put him on the throne, but in case the prince can't be found or winds up dead, he wants a Bashar or a Morrigan on the throne.
Alignment: Lawful evil
Reputation: The Bashar, and therefore also Ibrahim, have a complicated reputation. The Bashar are one of the oldest and wealthiest families in Nevermere, having been around for multiple centuries. Over those centuries, they have acquired quite some wealth, which made them well-known and influential.
But Ibrahim brought the reputation to a whole new level when he married Julene Morrigan, Queen Sarilla's younger sister. Before the marriage, the Bashar were active soldiers and advisors. After the marriage, they became even more present in politics and kingdom related affairs.
And then King Julius seized the throne. While Julene's siblings and their partners were killed, Ibrahim had heard whispers of the attack hours before it happened. He had gathered his wife and his family and fled Skia. It is generally believed that they weren't in the capital to begin with, which has led to there not being consequences for them or suspicions of them being anti-Rainecourt.
Now, Ibrahim and the Bashar are known as the big, wealthy family that hosts one of the mandatory training camps on their grounds. Not all children go to Skia for their mandatory training. Instead they go to the nearest possible camp. This is where Ibrahim betrayed his own values, because in order to be a legitimate training camp, he has to work with the royal military. He has the role of off-site trainer.
Combat Experience: Ibrahim is a skilled warrior. He trained for years and was a soldier in the troops of Urion. After the usurpation of the throne, he continued to train, both himself and his family members. Ibrahim is the Captain of the (very secret and very illegal) Bashar troops, which consist of his own family, nearby living and like-minded families and extended family members.

None.

Tale:
The Bashar family and its tradition existed long before Ibrahim was born. He was Ehsan and Farah's eldest son, and his father's heir, who was the family's head. Just like he would grow up to raise his own children, he grew up in a loving but very stern and strict household. Their main intention was keeping the wealth within the family, and growing up to become a someone. Most of the Bashar men were soldiers in king Urion's troops, and Ibrahim was no exception.
Due to the importance of their name, and their wealth, Ibrahim got the opportunity to meet Julene. Their marriage was not one that had been based on love, but had just been an important decision for both the Morrigan and the Bashar family. They wanted to accumulate their power and wealth. And alas, their marriage never turned into a fairytale. Ibrahim and Julene got along well, but there was no love between the two. It was a sort of friendship, that had been forced, but somehow worked, and because Ibrahim was a man of principle, he would stand by his wife until death does them part.
Urion welcomed Julius, the foreign prince who had left Lorendale after his father had chosen his other son to become king, into the palace and worked together with him. By the time it backfired, Ibrahim had married Julene already, and was a known face around the palace. He heard some soldiers whisper about a coup, and took matters into his own hands. He gathered his family and Julene and left Skia before Julius attacked the king. Lakeview Keep had been in the family for many generations and was known to be the second residence of the Bashar family, where they spent a lot of holidays. So while Urion's troops and Julene's siblings and partners were killed, they waited in the huge manor that was Lakeview Keep. They managed to make the story that the whole family had been at the Keep during the attack believable, and nobody questioned why they hadn't been in Skia at the time of the attack.
What followed were a though few months. Ibrahim had been filled with rage while he and the family hid during the attack, and that rage didn't go anywhere once Julius officially sat on the throne. The changes that were happening in the kingdom angered him even more, and at the same time he had to care for his grieving wife, who had just lost her siblings, minus her oldest brother Adder. Ibrahim didn't make his wife any false promises. He didn't tell her he would walk into the throne room and demand Julius to give back the throne. After all, there was nobody to give the throne back to. The prince had been banished, and Urion and Sarilla were dead. What he did tell Julene was that not all hope was lost, for as long as the Bashar existed, he would work on revenging all whose lives were lost during this greedy coup.
During those months, Ibrahim came up with a plan, which became more exact and detailed as more families moved to the outskirts. The Bashar weren't the only ones that didn't agree with what had happened in the capital, and those other families also fled from the changes Julius had implemented. He called together his family and told them of his idea. He told them life as they had once known it was gone — for now, with the emphasis on those last two words. He told them they would not listen to Julius, but that they had to keep up appearances. They would not be participating in Julius' Nevermere, and that they would stick to the old traditions. So, he told them, they would never participate in the centralized military that Julius had installed. Instead, they would maintain the troops strategy that they had always known. The family understood that what Ibrahim was asking of them was a lot, and even against the law, but they shared his ideas and sentiments. So the Bashar troops were born and Ibrahim led them, as the Captain. They consisted of Bashar soldiers, and soldiers from the families that had fled the city and lived in the settlements around Lakeview Keep (but only those who were like minded and could be trusted).
But there was an issue: children needed to go through mandatory training, and if they wanted to hide in plain sight, it was impossible for them forbid the children to do their training. Luckily, Ibrahim was a clever man. Because he had been in Urion's troops, he could join the new centralized military, and because his name was important enough, and his reputation was good, he was granted permission to organise a mandatory training camp on the Bashar lands. At first he had considered letting one of his brothers take on the position as off-site trainer, but the trainer would have to rapport to the military, and Ibrahim was not willing to take any chances. Every and all communication with the royal military was to go through him and through him only. So from 797 onwards, Ibrahim and relatives have been training children, keeping their political opinions concealed from all ears.
His troops were not big. If anything, they were rather small. The entirety of soldiers under his command was about 40-60 soldiers, but they were not weak. Being wealthy had its advantages, and Ibrahim paid a very large sum of money to a witch for the werewolf shifting curse, which she wrote down for them. Shortly after, Ibrahim killed her so she wouldn't be able to rat him out, and disposed of her body. He then gave this curse to Marcus, the head of the Bashar coven, which was dedicated to Sarilla and werewolves. The covenhead is responsible for teaching the witches of the family, and the troops, about their magic, and keeping the witches in control.
Another things he told the family was that from now on, they would be autarchic and self-sufficient. Again this wasn't something that people in the capital frowned upon. The Bashar had permanently moved to their residence in the outskirts, where farming and supplying for yourself was normal. Ibrahim told the family to limit, if not put an end to, all business with other families. Trusting nobody was better than being betrayed, and doing it for yourself was better than giving your money to someone who supported the false king. Fields were formed behind the estate, workshops were build and traditional occupations such as farrier, blacksmith and woolgrower became available to the family and the families that lived nearby.
Together with his family, he hides in plain sight. The well-established family still holds great value to Nevermere, and the history of how the family has been there from the start is something everyone in Nevermere knows about.
