She took the glanced, turning them over in her hands as she studied them. They felt like normal metal and glass in her hands, but she raised them to her face and slipped them on. Looking at the sudden glowing lining around Akagi, white in color. Her eyes ran over him, taking in how it seemed to almost shimmer through his skin before she caught sight of another color.

Orange, only to realize that was the color she was giving off. She examined her arms, turning them this way and that. Then glanced at the table to catch the stones all an array of colors. The one closest to them still bright pink… like Akagi told her. She glanced over at the badger, to find that it simply just… lacked the color. “What happens to the thing you remove the soul from? Does it change their life? Or something beyond?” Did they believe in an afterlife in Arynn Frey?

She slid the glasses from her face, holding them to her chest as she studied the now King. “I’ll think on it.” It was genuine, and she knew better than just to leap into a yes. They had time, especially if he wanted to experiment on himself first. “Thank you. For everything. Again.” She gave him a smile and finally extended the glasses back towards him.

"Unfortunately as far we know, speaking purely for my people, death is final, there is no beyond or after," Akagi said more logically than emotionally, "We can all just hope at the end, we found peace with our lives and were happy with it...but as I said it is final and after is nothing so we don't think about it," Akagi took the glasses and gentle patted Alys on the hand as she extended her thank you again, "truly think nothing of it Alys. You are one my best friends and you are the wife of another of my best friends, I'd kill for you and more friend," and for a second one wouldn't be able to tell that Akagi wasn't joking or just speaking but just as quickly the jovial mood was back as he returned the glasses back to the drawer, "You think about it though, truly, in the meantime I will be doing my tests for safety..."

Nothing beyond all of this. She wasn’t sure where she fell along the way of what happened after. Was this truly it?

The tone and words shifted suddenly, and Alys had felt a shiver of fear actually lick down her spine. For a woman who was used to risking her life, for facing terrifying things, something about his words and the way he shifted between his usual happy self to this…. Then back so easily. It was terrifying. Her eyes wide… and yet she felt protected. Between him… Hadrian… suddenly she felt like she was finding her footing. Her people.

“Well, please be careful.” She looked back at the table, and then made her way to the chair close by, sinking into it to watch him. “I’d like to stay a bit longer, Id like to watch you work.”
