The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Kasper is young enough to fall under the werewolf curse, yet it is dormant. Should the curse be activated his wolf form will be that of a white shaggy fur color keeping his smallness even though he is still rather large for a werewolf. His eyes also retain their green color.
Kasper had thrown himself into his work, he was bitter and clearly he was eating that by overseeing the dock rebuild personally. Faylin was gone. Then! instead of a promotion a Lieutenant (technically) was coming to be senior Sergeant in Coheed. He wasn't even getting a new partner? Was he in the paired department anymore?
He was pissed. The only thing he had gained was some small outa of respect from a few warriors of Coheed after his beast battle (the scars on his chest he would tell his grandchildren was from getting his heart ripped out) and then again when he out drank three more of them before he too passed out at a campfire party. He had a good report with the dock workers and builders. Kasper also still pulled his weight by working just as hard as the others, call it little man syndrome Kasper called it busting his ass and showing up men with more advantages than him.

Ramses had watched the beast battles but had remained distant from them, not getting to close nor too invested as he weighed the skills of those involved. One he liked about it was that it seemed very reminiscent of Coheed back before everything had changed. One thing he didn't like about it was the involvement of so many Nevermeren soldiers. Like many of his Coheed brothers, he didn't appreciate their presence in their lands. He wanted them to go away and let Coheed get back to their roots. Not that he was as vocal about it as others were.
Ramses was at the docks today but not to actually help with the work there. That wasn't his role. Instead he had been called there due to an injury that had happened while on the job. A deep gash on one of the workers arms. It would get infected if he did nothing about it. Ramses applied a salve across the wound, it looked a lot like mud mixed with wet tea leaves, and then wrapped the arm up with a bandage. It was going to hurt for a long while.

Kasper had been told of an accident, which pissed him off all over again, he stopped working and followed some young soldier to the scene of this supposed accident. It seemed a man had intercepted, pissed him off because he had stopped working and someone else had went and got someone else. Then his curiosity peaked as he watched this man rub what he thought was shit, again pissed him off.
"We got potions for stuff like that, but call me a cat cause I be curious, what did you put on him?" whatever he was here might as well ask, pissed him off to ask but if Kasper was the ever grown adult he had grown to be over the last few years he sounded quite neutral perhaps depressed.

Ramses looked up at the man who approached, easily recognized as one of the Nevermeren soldiers. Ramses' jaw tightened briefly. He didn't like these people in their lands but but there was little he could do about it so he would do his best to work with them until the gods offered him ways to get rid of the outside influence of their blessed way of life.
What he also hated was that he had seen the healing potions in action and part of him wished he could get his hands on some of those while also hating he had to compete with something like that.
"Calendula and comfrey to promote the healing of the wound and reduce swelling, lavender to prevent infection and excessive scarring, and echinacea to soothe the swelling," he explained, offering the man the container of the salve in case he wanted to examine it further.

Kasper listened intently and was quite intrigued, all of it sounded like when his sisters brewed potions and it all went right over the smaller man's head, "Sounds like a lot of work, natured based shit, simplistic," he commented, "Are you uh...what do they call it here? A Witch Doctor? Akin to a medic back home," of course this man was the biggest damn doctor he'd ever seen, "pretty cool shit, natural remedies, but uh," Kasper looked around, "I can get you some of minor healing potions for the right price....," Kasper then stuck out his hand, "Kasper."

No, Ramses was none to pleased with the influence of Nevermere upon their way of life. However, he was wise enough to recognized that he could not blame this one man for his role here. Was not everyone doing their best with the information they had available to them. Yes, what he did took a lot of work but it was worth it in order to provide health and spirituality to Coheed.
"The witch doctor, yes," he replied. Now that Coheed had been combined into one large tribe there was only one Witch Doctor. It was something he was quite proud of indeed that he'd managed to secure this position but he kept that pride to himself. "Similar to your medics yes in that my role is to act as healer but it's so much more than that. I am also the spiritual guide for Coheed, a connection to the Gods and their will for each man and woman," he explained. As much as he was proud of his skill in healing, it was far more than a Nevermeren trained medic.
He looked down at the man's hand as he offered it and considered it for a moment before he placed his hand into Kasper's. "Ramses," he returned the introduction. "Call me a cat but I'm curious-" he said, mirroring what the soldier had just said to him. "What kind of price?"

Kasper shrugged, "I like gold and I like trinkets," he suggested, "gems and stones would really grease the palm so to speak," the Sergeant knew plenty of folks back home he could trade most of what he had collected from those fight bets and make a very pretty coin, "If we make it really worth while Ramses I could get you more than just healing potions."

Ramses raised a brow, interest certainly peaked though whether it was in the potions or the man it was hard to tell. He took a half step closer as if the keep the conversation more private. "Such as?" he inquired. "And how do you have such access? Is it not the witches who make them?" He looked down at if to check that Kasper had the appropriate body parts.

"Stockpiles mein new friend," Kasper physically described the word with over exaggerated hand gestures, "I take stock of what we've got in storage and I know a few crooked witches who will make what me might lack, but yeah they make'em and we hold'em," without Faylin it felt almost to easy ro fall back into the usual Van Zant habits.

The Neveremeren didn't answer his question about what kinds of potions he had available in their 'stockpiles' and Ramses wondered if it was intentional or if he'd simply forgotten the first part of the question. "I suppose it makes sense that the soldiers here would have a collection to use for their needs. Unfortunately I am not a man of great means. The Gods provide what I need to live healthily enough but I have little more than that. So I'm afraid I'll have to pass you up on your offer." For all he knew this man would try to poison the potions or something. Ramses had a hard time fully trusting any of them. They'd more easily be able to maintain control if they took out their strongest men or, yes, religious leaders.
