Zahir had always been very good with plants. He knew how to harvest them at the right time and in the right way. He knew how to care for them to ensure they grew to their fullest potential and in the best health possible. As he walked into the greenhouse to look for his sister his hands automatically moved to make small adjustments as he saw fit. One pot closer to the sun, one more in the shadow, one that needed a few dying leaves plucked, one that needed a new flower bud plucked so it would continue to grow.

His smiled as sister greeted him. "Dezi, my girl." She was 11 years younger than him but was no young little filly to be trifled with. He certainly knew better than to cross her on a bad day. "I've been looking for you."

He chuckled at her dramatic response and moved to lean his backside against the worktable while she worked with her herbs. "Actually, I wanted to tell you something. Some pretty exciting news that I've just received." In spite of claiming that it was exciting, it was also clear there was a bit of hesitance in his tone to tell her.

"I've just got a new appointment. From the King. He's assigned me to be the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Arynn Frey! Isn't that great!?" It was great, right?

Zahir looked a bit guilty at the mention of their mother. "Not yet, no. I wanted to tell you first, Dezi." It seemed a better place to start and if he could go to his mother knowing that at least someone was happy for him then maybe it would be easier. Or maybe Dezi would think it was a terrible idea and he'd go is mother feeling worse than before. He supposed it was a risk either way but he and Dezi were close and he wanted her to know first.

He chuckled at her tease with a playful shake of his head. "Of course I will come back to visit. As often as I'm allowed. I wouldn't want to miss anything important," he said.
