The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

It was only a couple of days after Akagi and Ophelia had been crowned King and Queen of Arynn Frey and Zahir was feeling both excited and nervous about his first official day on the job. He had met the witches that had already been here in Arynn Frey and who he'd now be over, taking over the role from the last Minister of Foreign affairs who had left several months ago. Coming through the portal the first time from Nevermere he was met with the stunning view of a ray of sunshine being filtered through a stained glass window. The colors that cascaded down around the room was breathtaking and he just stood and stared for too long until someone cleared their throats and brought him back to the present.
He gave a guilty smile as he was lead to the room where he'd be staying and told that he his request for an appointment with the king had been scheduled and would be in one hour. He spent most of that waiting time getting familiar with his space and unpacking, staring out the window at the stunning Arynn Frey landscape, and trying to go over what he'd say to the King upon meeting with him.
When it was time he was lead to another room where he was told the King would be arriving shortly. A guard stood inside the room near the door but remained silent as Zahir waited with nearly bated breath.

The new Minister of Foreign Affairs had been let into the main office of Akagi and he wasn't made to wait long either, the King entered with silent steps adorned in a Peacekeepers uniform today, "Heeelllo Minister @zahir I hope I haven't kept you so long! Busy busy busy," Akagi was his usual chipper self as he come to greet the Minister with a formative polite bow, "Very happy to have a replacement, Lady Alinore was a very proper and headstrong young woman but no pressure to fill her shoes friend I'm sure you'll do just fine!"
Akagi turned to a slave woman and requested tea and wine and sugar and honey too.
The King entered, taking Zahir off guard for a moment. He looked more like a soldier than a King and seemed far less formal than one too. Certainly nothing like how cold and quiet King Cassian was. He had heard a little about Akagi before but had never had the pleasure of meeting him before.
And a pleasure it certainly was. His chipper behavior was contagious and Zahir smiled and returned the bow though ensuring his was deeper than that of the King's. It was the King who deserved the most respect after all. "Thank you, your Majesty, I certainly hope to do more than 'just fine'. I suppose time will tell. I look forward to working with you."

"Of course of course, please sit," Akagi took a seat behind his desk resting his hands upon his desk as a self writing pen began to write, most of it internal thoughts and ideas, "We have much to catch you up on, and with my coronation out of the way and officially being recognized as King I will be having my first cabinet meeting soon. I'd like for you to attend, if his Majesty of Nevermere cannot attend then I'd hope you come as his proxy."
Zahir could imagine that things had been quite busy and maybe even somewhat chaotic since there had been a recent transfer of power. Of course there would be plenty that Zahir would need to be caught up on. "Of course, you're majesty, I'll be there," he assured him with a nod and smile. He noted the self writing pen and even though it might seem like something small to an Arynnite, Zahir had yet to have much experience with enchanted objects and the idea of seeing this kind of thing all the time now was absolutely thrilling to him.
"May I ask, your majesty, how this change in rule has been accepted by the people? Have you noticed any pushback or has it been mostly positive?" he felt it was important information for him to know moving forward so he could keep an eye out for things, especially as it pertained to any potential negative feelings towards Ophelia.

Akagi crossed his legs and rest his hands under his chin for a moment, "Hmm," he smiled trying to not sound as arrogant, "Truthfully I've always had a connection with the people of Arynn Frey, I like to be down there with them sharing wisdom or encouragement so from my personal point of view it has been a favored change of leadership. I feel after the first cabinet meeting we'll have a more efficient gage of the people, especially when we implement some of the direction the Kingdom will be heading...eventual war."
Truth be told, Zahir was not yet as informed about Arynn Frey history as maybe he should be and he didn't recognize the importance of what Akagi had just said. He didn't realize that war was something that Arynn Frey had very little recent experience with, at least compared to all of the other kingdoms in the last decade or so. He listened intently and conversation was polite but filled with a sense of ease that Akagi would not have found with the last minister of foreign affairs. All in all it was a productive conversation and Zahir was looking forward to his time spent here.
