The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

[For @ravi]
The journey hadn't been as bad as Ibrahim had anticipated. He and Ravi had met up early in the morning, and together with five servants, they had hit the road. There were also servants in Gorgon Manor, and they resided there even when the family wasn't in the capital city. Traveling to Gorgon Manor from Lakeview Keep took a day and a half on horseback, so they had all spent the night in a tavern on the road. The next morning, the trip took another six hours and by three in the afternoon, they arrived at the recently purchased estate.
After Ibrahim and Ravi had descended their horses, two servants would bring them to the stables and rub them dry with hay before giving them a good brushing. Later, they would take the horses to the paddock so they could stretch their legs and roll around a bit.
The head of the family show Ravi around the domain before heading towards the manor itself. The big front door swung open and the two of them could enter.
"How are you feeling?" he asked his nephew before calling a servant to ask for tea.
The wonder of leaving home must have silenced the voices in his head because the trip had kept Ravi full of silent wonder. He detailed things in a journal to which he would share with his wife and children. Part of his academic lessons growing up was to memorize the Nevermere map so at certain points he found himself telling staff about various historical landmarks.
At one point, staying at the inn, Ravi thought he had reached a new excitement but that was soon overshadowed by their arrival at Gorgon Manor!
"amazing," he whispered, "look at that architecture, that is a late Mathias Eldbrock design a truly lost piece of art," Ravi again whispered to no one except the voice of his sister who spoke finally:
'...who are you talking to about your dorky history Ravi?' she cackled, flashing in his mind a scene of the macabre massacre of his family: all of them strung up by their intestines around the manor.
Ravi of course played this image off by just ignoring it and following Uncle into their newly purchased estate.
"This place is very remarkable Uncle! I mean that with all due diligence," he removed his riding gloves, "and I feel fine, great! As we drew closer his afternoon I've found myself with a new found energy!"

He felt happy that Ravi was so impressed by the estate. Yes, it was a beautiful house. Everything you could wish for. Their name and wealth made it possible to own two luxurious estates.
"You recognise your Eldbrock, good", the man said, impressed by his nephew's knowledge. Ibrahim was knowledgeable about architecture as well and Gorgon Manor's architecture had been one of the main points of interest to him.
They moved through the estate and eventually settled down in sitting area. It didn't take the servant long to bring them tea and leave them to it again.
"I'm glad to hear that, boy", Ibrahim said while pouring them a cup of tea. "I hope the library won't disappoint. Are you looking for anything specific?" He didn't know what books the palace held, or what Ravi was hoping to learn. "I am meeting Captain Usher tomorrow, so you'll have all the time you need to do what it is you want to do."

The voices were spiking in activity but Ravi pushed through giving his attention to Uncle Ibrahim, a man's opinion Ravi sought every second perhaps more than the man's own children.
Taking his tea he sipped cautiously before replying, "I wanted to view a few maps of Skia and I also want to trace some lineage on a few respectable horses in the area with the intentions of buying a few mares and a stud to bring back to the stables, strengthen the lineage with my own proud steeds," Ravi said happily, "It will only strengthen our own calvary Uncle, I want a class of war horses yet unseen."
'you came here to find horses to fuck?! you are so weird brother, so weird.'
"But if there is anything I can do ar your request though Uncle...I will see it through," he said eager to please.

Ibrahim listened and nodded. Ravi had a clear plan and he approved of it. It would be good for the man to keep busy with maps and horses. "Good thinking, Ravi. Be sure not to tell the people you buy horses from too much about the family. We want to stay a bit of a mystery." He smiled slightly.
"I can't think of anything right now, but I'll be sure to let you know if I think of anything. If you see anything curious while out and about, let me know. There will definitely be whispers when they see us again."
