The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

for @veda
Dezi is so proud of her cousin Veda. well Proud would be a understatement. Of course Veda is doing amazing thing cause after all she is a Chaudhari woman and if anything they are amazing witches. Dezi was so happy to born into such a fabulous family. Dezi was already out of the house when she thought that she would visit Veda at work like a part of her do want to look at the hot, sweaty man training, trying to narrow down the potential men that one day marry. it would tryly be a blessing upon them to marry such a sexy, fabulous witch that is Dezembre Chaudhari. However she has to keep herself together, for a woman's eye can never tell what one might think, but boy can they wonder.
As she arrived at the military ground she looked around at the soldiers training there were indeed some hot men around, no wonder her Cousin enjoy being round here, if she was here every day, she would be home with a potential husband by now. For once cannot wait. However, her eyes landed on her cousin and a bright smile shone upon her face. She watched for a bit and when she had the chance she gave Veda a wave. "No wonder you have to train, to fight all the attractive men off you Veda." She was never one to shy away from her thoughts.
Veda wiped the sweat from her brow, her hands meeting her knees as she bent over. Today she was training without @frederick, much to her dismay. Though they were a paired unit, there was still things she had to do without him. Like witchcraft. And how to wield it at a distance while Fred… he did the most up close combat to protect her. But that also meant she had to be able to protect him too.
Her dark, thick hair was braided back into two braids, though stubborn strands escaped the entirety of it now. What she hadn’t been expecting was a visit, though it wasn’t unwelcome. A small chuff of laughter left her as she straightened, her hands falling to her full hips as she looked to Dez. “Yeah, that’s why I train.” She quipped, though she followed her cousins gaze. “And you are here simply to pay me a visit? Or scope out potential meat to sink your teeth into?” She said the last part a bit more quiet as she approached. No need for the dogs around them to hear that and come sniffing. The ones that did usually were not what a Chaudhari was looking for anyway.

At Veda comment about potential meat to stick her teeth into, Dezi couldn't help but laugh. With a whisper, "Well any man will be lucky to have me stick my teeth into them." At the end of the day Dezembre was confident about her looks, she love the curves on her body she love her wavy hair. She wasn't scared to show off what the two-fold goddess have blessed her with. It a blessing for her and a curse for any man who dare try and cross her and her family.
"However, I want to visit you Veda... the meat is just added bonus." giving her cousin a playful wink. "How have you been?"
Dez was definitely textbook Chaudhari, and Veda loved it. Loved to see the confidence in her walk and it definitely turned a few eyes towards them. They were not a woman to grovel or shrink or make themselves seem less than for their male counterparts. “Well,” her hands gestured to their surroundings. “I’ve been here. Sweating. Missing desperately the bath oils of home.”
She stares down a man who gravitated closer than she’d like. “And surely you didn’t come all the way down from the estate just to come to the military wing.” A long ride. “Here for business as well?”

Dezi have been brought up being told that she was a powerful witch and that we shouldn't be made to feel like we were anything less because we are women. If there wasn't for our great power then Nevermere wouldn't be where it is today, even though the men are stupid enough to acknowledge that mostly because they have pea-sized brains. "Well, I am sure when you can come home that will be a nice rosewater scented bath waiting for you when you arrive."
When she noticed a man walking towards them, Dezi glared at him that if glare could give curses alone it would and this curse alone would make this man beg on his poor pathetic knees for anyone to end his life. When Veda asked her why she was down here in the military wing, her eyes trailed back to her cousin. Dezi was just getting onto the social scene so she didn't have much in the way of work. "Mother wants me to start getting out and about more finding a way for me to get my foot in the door." Soon she will have to find a husband a produce kids however she spend most of the days at home tending to the gardens to produce potions.
Rosewater bath. Veda closed her eyes and took a deep breath as if she could smell it now… but was only met with the earthy, sweaty scent of the military wing. “Goddess, I hope that’s soon… perhaps I should tell Fred we should take a longer break this go around. I still need to secure my place here in town.” One she had begged and pleaded with the Chaudhari’s head women with for far too long. Though they finally agreed. With the understanding that Veda would be taking charge of any business dealings needed in the town when they couldn’t make it down conveniently themselves.
“Ah, so what a better way then to come see where the brutes and witches are,” she teased. Then turned to stand at her side, the two of them looking so very apart while sharing similar features that were signature to the Chaudhari family. Dezi dressed as a proper lady, beautiful gowns and her hair neat and in place. Smelling like that bath oil that Veda had just been imagining. And then beside her? The warrior that the women could be. Leather clad and sporting weapons. Though both women were a weapon.
“I’d suggest,” she reached and positioned her cousin to face a particular ring. “Starting there. The men of noble blood,” a few were training together. Their moves more like a dance than brutal swing. Clearly showing years of having a tutor instead of learning here within the mandated training.

When Veda mentioned Fred a part of her want to ask a million questions about him. All she hopes that Fred doesn't think anything stupid because otherwise she will feel the wrath from one of Dezi's curses. Yes, she might act like a lady but she have the claws of a tiger and she isn't afraid to use them to protect her family. "How is the house hunting going? Also, I do hope one day you invite Fred round for luncheon or supper one time." Maybe it will give her the chance to pin down and investigate if he right for her family. She can play good soldier/bad solider if it means making the right choices for her family.
As she stood next to Veda she looked at the men she indicated too. "What are their families like? what are their opinions on witches?" Both important questions.
The mention of the hunt for a space had her huff. “It’s just now finally getting underway after the approval. The place I had scoped out was taken. So it now has to start all over. And I was told any furnishings within it would be coming from my own pocket.” She almost scoffed. As if they’d notice if she took some of her share of the family money…
But the mention of Fred had her glance at Dezi from the corner of her eyes. “Why?” Did Dezi have her eyes on him? It’d make sense… Fred came from a very prominent family. He was a gentleman, and overall he would probably do well as a Chaudhari woman’s husband. He was handsome. “Do you like him? I can put in a word.” Always the wingwoman for her partner.
“Oh it’s the usual,” she said, looking at the men not too far away. “Well off families, but the usual mentality. So you’d have to do… some convincing. Which shouldn’t be too hard for you.” She grinned.

At Veda comment about the hose hunting made Dezi laugh a bit. "Well at least you then can put your own personal touch on it, if you want a second opinion on what will look nice, i do have a eye on styling homes." She isn't scared of boosting herself up, she was confident in her skills, it was a skill all Chaudhari women learned from a young age to always think highly of themselves.
When Veda asked if she liked Fred. She couldn't help but give a soft smile, "He comes from a good family, he would make the family proud, good genes, strong. He would make a great match." Marriage is a political battlefield she has to navigate through. "However, I barely know him to say I like him. I was mostly asked because he is your paired. I would like to get to know the man you are paired with. If you believe that we will work, i wouldn't mind you putting in a good word." She doesn't want her mother to match her up with somebody who she might end up hating.
"Well I do have to art of persuasion down to a very fine art. I should come with a warning but where the fun in that."
Personal touch… yes it was something she’d be able to and have to do. “My concern is finding a new bed.” She mentioned, as that was something she didn’t have to do on her own often… or really ever. She had been given her bed at home, and it worked. “And perhaps a bed frame.” Though she knew a woodworker just on the outskirts…
Veda wasn’t sure why she was so unsure of why Dezi asked after Fred. But she felt a bit of shame rush through her, if he could be a good match for a Chaudhari, who was she to stand in their way? “He would be a good match.” She said it softly, pondering for a moment before she shook herself mentally. “But he’s a Delaney… and I highly doubt anyone would approve of him dropping his family name for ours.” Fred Chaudhari…
So instead, she turned her attention to the group of men. “You’ve always been better at that than me. I’m too… readable. “ she said with a light huff.

Dezi thinks about beds and bedframes. "From my understanding Oak, walnut and mahogany are the best wood for a bedframe. So it depends on the room colour and what else is in the room as Mahogany is a dark wood. You don't want everything to dark otherwise it would make the room feel smaller then it is." She could talk about room decoration all day.
Dezi looked at her trying to get a read on her with regards to Fred does she like him? "Well men are arrogant when it comes to names, it the only sense of power they have." She gave her cousin a small wink.
What Veda says next she takes a deep breath. "Veda, you a Chaudhari, you hold more power in your little toe, then all the men in this wing, part together. Yes they are strong but you can easily cast an incantation and they will be down on the floor. So feel that confidence and you will have any skills you put your heart towards cause we don't raise our women to doubt ourself."
The talk of the woods to bring in a room, what would make it seem smaller or larger had her smile. At their family estate, there wasn’t a thing as a small bedroom. All the witches had room and while yes, some were larger than others, it was never really small. So this apartment was an entirely new thing for her. “Well, I know who I’m bringing shopping with me then. Especially since I should have a lounge large enough in case Fred needs a place to sleep.” Now that was a statement to say out loud. An unmarried witch, inviting the idea of an unmarried man staying within her home?
She thought about what Dezi said. While she agreed with most of them, the witches held all the power, she also didn’t look at Fred and the other men around them as weak by any means. A different strength in them. Strip the witches of power and any trained man would probably win over her. Even trained as she was. But that was the blessing from the Goddess. “Fred isn’t arrogant, and you know that. But his family… the Delaney’s are proud. Have earned their honor.” She murmured.
The lecture had Veda looking at Dezi from the corner of her eyes. Amusement dancing there. She couldn’t remember the last time she was the one being lectured about how she is powerful. “Come now, I definitely don’t forget such things. I just also know I am not the one that our Elder or Superior will have speaking in front of the entire court. One on one? Sure. It’s easy to fix a mistake when only one person has heard it. Not an entire court.”
