The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

This is a open thread
Even though Zarha been gone for two sessions it feels odd to be back in the military wing, she missed feeling the heat of the sun shining upon her face. She started to forget what the cloudy skies of Nevermere was like, they was grim However, she need to get back into the swing of the military life back here. Even though they had the same routine she couldn't do as much physically training aside from the training she did with Aldrich Abbott an hour before sunset so she had to be rested enough to train the wings.
As she was in the Military wings she started stretching she had to make sure that her body will stay fit. Even though Aldrich want her to focus on her wings and archery well flying, she also have to keep an eye on hand to hand and knowing that update with all her footwork. So Zarha is started running kind of wishing that somebody joins her. It is annoying that even now Aldrich Abbott is in her head telling her that she shouldn't train by herself. Yet he is back in Coheed, he was lucky he was back there.

Isaac had heard that the soldiers that had gone to Coheed had returned. He was curious to know how it had been over there, and he decided to seek one out. He had asked around, and word had it that a certain Zarha Sliva had enjoyed her time there. People joked they had never seen her happier before, which piqued his interest. Surely Coheed couldn't have been that much fun.
The man made his way over to where he had been told he could find Zarha. He saw a young woman running, and figured she must be the one he was looking for. "Zarha Sliva?" he asked. She was too young, and he was too old, to train together, so they had never spoken before. He had been here for seven years, and it was odd to realise that this girl would have been eleven or twelve years old at the time.

Zarha was engrossed in her work running laps when a faint voice called out her name. She looked up and saw a man standing a few feet away, staring at her intently. Despite never having spoken to him before, she recognized him as one of the locals from Cohhed, known for their muscular build. As she approached him, she slowed her pace, curious about what he wanted. "Yes, that's me. How may I be of assistance, sir?" she asked with a polite smile.
It was indeed rare for Zarha to smile but she started to smile more, which has worried some soldiers thinking she picked up some rare smiling illness. or Happiness disease but she joked with them that they be next if there not careful which made some of them laugh.

It was probably more likely that she had heard stories about him being a Coheedsman, because it was hard to tell just from looking at him. He had dark hair and wore the same outfit as other soldiers. He had adapted to Nevermere's traditions well.
He smiled at the young woman when she noticed him and asked him what she could do to help.
"My name's Isaac Hudson. You were in Coheed, right? Welcome back, for starters. I wanted to ask how the mission has been."
Post by Zarha Sliva on Jan 22, 2024 13:47:15 GMT -5
Zarha looked at him as he introduced himself. "Nice to meet you sir. I was indeed stationed in Coheed for a couple of seasons. It is indeed an interesting place to be, not something I expected. I will try my best to answer any question. of course there are only so much i can share for reasons." Hopefully, she doesn't have to explain the reason where. even if he did ask certain questions there was only so much of the mission that was told to her when they travelled to coheed. Due to her being a private some information was given to those who was in the need to know bases.

"I understand that", he said, wondering what could be so secret. "I was mostly wondering how you found the people, and if they treated you nicely. How are their female warriors doing? I heard they have a group named the Parabolti?"
Post by Zarha Sliva on Jan 22, 2024 14:31:43 GMT -5
When he asked about the people of coheed treated her nicely it took all her will power not to show her true feelings that some of them treated her more then nicely. that they treated her like fire and the was the wood needed to feed her. Of course, she can't mention the rumors that were going around, even though when she last saw Kaalim, he looked upset haunted, so there must be at least some truth to it. However, she gave a soft smile. "The people of Cohhed are doing well I was treated well when i was over there. There were times when I thought I had to ask for assistance, however, that was once thankfully. " She explained even though that time she mat Leander and it hurts slightly that she didn't manage to say goodbye to him and a part of her thought that she was his queen.
She focused on the female warriors topic. "The Parabolti, they are doing great, they are in great hands, there were a few that are a bit jumpy when they fighting new people but it will give them a good understanding of learning how to read somebody and how each person have a pattern." Even though some people are much harder to read but that possible be due to their years of training and learning different styles.

He smiled, hiding his intentions well. He wanted to know the bad more than the good, and preferably the real ugly, but he doubted a regular private knew about the dirty.
"I am glad to hear that", he said kindly. "Were there specific individuals that stood out? I always got along well with Kaalim and Rahil, he was Imani's husband, but if I recall correctly he died before I even came here." A truth and a lie. He might have gotten along with Kaalim at one point, but definitely not when he didn't agree with attacking Cambria. Not a lot of people knew his story here, so it was unlikely Zarha would know that was the reason he fled.
"Wonderful! I am glad they have embraced their women in another way than just as mothers." He laughed, but got a bit sad soon after, although he tried to hide it. He wanted to ask her if he had seen any of his wives, because he didn't know whether they were still alive, but it was unlikely she'd met them.

When he spook Kaalim's name her eyes traveled to his. he knew Kaalim? She wondered how well he knew the man who she slept with. Even though she wouldn't tell anyone of their relationship because that would get her into a lot of trouble. "I know of Kaalim and Imani, even though I mat her once and she has two children, as you said her husband sadly passed away." It is what it is. "Kaalim seems to be a really nice person, cares about Coheed." He cares about the people who live there.
"I feel like there are still some men that still view the women as just... bearers of children." She takes a deep breath remembering that this was the costume for them and it is harder to break certain habits. However she noticed a bit of sadness in the man's eyes a part of her wanted to ask if he was okay. "Do you have family over there?" It was soft but there was kindness in her voice.

He smiled at her again, feeling somewhat nostalgic now he heard her talk about Coheed, and especially Kaalim and Imani. He had forgotten that she had children, but it was good to hear they were still with her.
"Oh yes, Kaalim is a good man", he responded, not knowing if he fully believed himself. It did sound like Kaalim had changed for the better.
When she asked her question, he sighed and smiled melancholy. "That's a difficult question. It's before your time, but about seven years ago, the previous chieftain decided to invade Cambria, although we had a peaceful understanding with them. I didn't agree with that, and was shunned from the community. I was stripped of my warrior title and forced to be a worker. I'm sure you've seen some during your time. They have no real lives, no family, they are just workers. Almost slaves. So, when they took my warrior title away, they also took my wives and children away. I have no idea if they're still alive or not."
It had been a while since he had really told his story to someone, but this young woman seemed alright. She was nice, and kind. He didn't want sympathy, but he did want to tell her why he wasn't sure if he had family still.

When Isaac told her his story there was softness in her eyes. She has seen some of the workers around, they took his family away because he spoke out against attacking Cambria. "I understand it's difficult not knowing. If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know. By the way, may I ask for the names of your wives?" Maybe she had seen them around when she was in Coheed. Isaac seems like a nice, kind guy, willing to talk to her.

"Thank you", he said with a kind smile. "Their names are Aria and Iris. I doubt they would have joined the Parabolti." He continued to smile, although he realised it was getting more and more difficult to remember what they looked like. He could picture them vaguely in his mind, but the details were fading.
Post by Zarha Sliva on Jan 30, 2024 10:33:01 GMT -5
"Aria and Iris." Zarha repeated."They sounds stunning." She have gotten used to men of Coheed having several wives, so Isaac saying two names didn't surprise her. However apart of her wondered with him being here in Nevernere as long as he has if they got remarried, if she learnt anything from her time there, if the woman can still produce children, then they wouldn't put them to waste.
Zarha gave him a warm smile. For some reason Zarha wanted him to be happy and as she looked at him, he was attractive. Placing a hand on his upper arm. Hoing to know he has somebody here. "Tell me something about you? what do you like doing in your free time?"
Post by Isaac Hudson on Jan 30, 2024 10:41:51 GMT -5
They had indeed been stunning! While Zarha didn't say what she was thinking, she was certainly right. It was very likely that his wives had gotten remarried. He didn't want to think about it.
He appreciated her placing a hand on his arm. He smiled at her and nodded his head in a way to show appreciation. He gestured at a low wall near them, with a look in his eyes that asked her if she wanted to sit for a bit while they talked. If she agreed, he'd sit down.
"That's a good question", Isaac responded with a chuckle. "I train, or brush up on my knowledge of how one is supposed to act in Nevermere. I like going for a walk on the beach, or going for a drink in town. It's surprisingly hard to make friends in this city, although no, actually, I'm not surprised." He laughed. "People don't really like outsiders."

When Isaac gestered towards a wall for them to sit down, she nodded as they walked together and she sat down next to him. She listened to every word he said.Taking it all in, giving a small laugh about it being hard to make friends here in Nevermere. "It is hard to make friends here in Nevermere, but if anything," She look softly into his eyes. "I like you. Maybe one day we can go on a walk on the beach when we are both free or go for a drink together."A part of her hope he agrees to the offer.
