The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Our dearest and lovely admin welcomed her new baby boy, Jet, on Sept 7th! We're so happy for her and her family! Congratulations Mama!! Your boys are all so lucky to have such an incredible mom to love them! God bless!
Time was a strange thing. Before she knew it, the night of the secret party was behind them. She had woken the next day and had expected things to be different. Yet… time passed. They trained, though a bit more avoiding gazes. But then…
It was said in passing. Fred had a date with Evanthe. She handled it about as well as one could imagine… by ignoring it and pushing it aside. “Wonderful! I’m glad for you two,” maybe the bitterness danced in her words. But she shoved it away. A kiss… nothing else.
Veda showed up for their training, but she didn’t linger. As much as it pained her, always making some excuse. Then she had stumbled across Othello Allemeade in the mess hall. They hadn’t spoke on it, but she knew he had heard. But finally she found a place, a small apartment she would be granted to have closer to the castle. Long before the kiss… that night she saw a glimpse into a world he had hid from her… he had agreed to help her move in. So she had approached him before their leave and asked him to meet her the next day at a seamstress shop where she’d purchase some bed sheets and other linens. The heavier things already delivered within but would need placing.
She didn’t wait outside, rather she was sorting through a few blankets inside, running her fingers over the different materials as she waited on him. As she spiraled in her thoughts about him… that night… and scolded herself mentally.

This had been complicated...but also not. It was confusing. They were mostly going about life as they always had but there was a hint of tension between them. She'd been keeping her distance, leaving right after trainings rather than hanging around. He'd already had his date with Evanthe planned before their kiss and he'd felt too bad to just cancel, especially because they hadn't yet figured out where they might want to take this. He couldn't help but assume she had just decided she didn't want anything more with him, especially after he'd heard about her interaction with the Lorendale gifted. He hadn't met Othello in person but from what he'd heard the guy seemed crazy...or at least strange.
So maybe she really was over the idea of the two of them being more than partners and he couldn't admit out loud the feeling of disappointment that had been lingering in his chest in the last several weeks. Evanthe had left, gone to Coheed, so he had nothing else to do but wonder about Veda, to replay their kiss in his mind, and to try to figure out what was between her and Othello.
Of course he had promised to help her move and he was actually looking forward to it. It had been a minute since they had spent any non work time together and he'd been missing it. So he met her at the shop, stepping inside when he saw her through the window. She was looking at blankets and his hands naturally moved along the soft fabrics as he approached her.
"Veda! Hey!" he greeted her with a grin. "Exciting day! You finally get to move in! How are you feeling about that!?"
Veda was lingering on a particular blanket, her hands running along the folded edge of it when Fred suddenly appeared. Her body jolting slightly in surprise as she had been so lost in her thoughts of him, she had failed to hear the footsteps alarm her that anyone neared. “Dammit Fred,” he always seemed to sneak up on her. Maybe it was a bad habit of hers… or maybe she trusted him so thoroughly that even when she was unaware he was around, he didn’t set off alarms like others did.
He was grinning, and her chest tightened at the sight. Goddess he was… did she have a right to think those things still? “I am… and lucky for you… most of the heavy lifting is done. Which means it’s the little things… like finding your blanket.” She barely could contain herself, her head and body moving towards the blanket but her eyes cut to the side to look at him. To gauge his reaction to her words. “I’m still debating between two of my own, but for you…” she ran her hand over another blanket. “I figured it might be best to let you make the final decision.”
