The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Ophelia rushed to the doorway just in enough time to see Avalon Eldouir rushing forward. It took her a moment to observe the scene, to locate her husband, and see Avalon Eldouir rushing toward him.
“No—” The whisper left her chest as she flicked the wand in Avalon Eldouir’s direction to protect her husband. Ophelia was not a combatant, so it took a moment for her to spring into action. Hiram Eldouir would be her second target if any of the Eldouir could still be found.
Those words would be the goading that would cause Myla to start to rip the palace to pieces. The Eldouir, however, was no fool. She knew that her kin and her adopted pet Honora Allemeade were in the throne room and she wouldn’t risk them being crushed inside by bringing the roof down. With a mighty tear, a chunk of the marble roof flew off to reveal a patch of sky, following another. Amidst the chaos and the swirling blood, Avalon Eldouir went in for the kill with all the deft skill that Eldouir training had afforded her. Though the princess, now queen, Ophelia Rainecourt may have searched for her husband, she would not find him. It was optimistic to think that she could have, given that he was a crumpled heap on the floor and she was on the other side of the room, obstructed by witches consumed by blood. There was no way she’d find Akagi Llewellyn at that distance—certainly not enough to put the pieces together before it was too late.
Avalon Eldouir would make her killing blow. The well-charged, targeted strike would contain more intense power in its small radius. It would set a container but squelching explosion, ripping a fist-sized hole in his chest. The noble king of Arynn Frey would seize. His breath would grow short, and life would quickly start to slip away.
Given the nature of his injury, Akagi will die in his next post.
Ophelia Rainecourt , unbeknownst to what was happening across the throne room, would successfully hit the target she could see: Hiram Eldouir . Though the blood would start to descend and swallow them, it would not be successful. The red substance would fall limp, as would the man who controlled it. The witches would also drop. Having been drowning for many minutes, they would choke and gasp, coughing blood from their lungs onto the floor, as Hiram would not have been able to fully withdraw it.
October Montgomery would be close to the door with Iliana tucked against him, almost reaching it but not quite there given the need to move with caution.
GUIDELINES
- POST TIMING:The CN will seek to post a reply on Wednesday 5/15, so please plan accordingly and take posting order into account. We will not wait for your character, and if they are a central part of an exchange then they will still be factored into what is taking place. Their actions (or inaction) will be narrated by the CN.
- PEACEKEEPERS: There are two more posts before the peacekeepers arrive.
- LINE OF SIGHT & MOVEMENT: Ain't that something? Good reminder for everyone (for me), remember to account for that in your post, in terms of what would realistically be visible and how swiftly your character would be able to move. We are in a throne room, and it is big.
- SPECIFICITY OF ACTION:Aenwyn gets the specificity of action award this round! In the interest of fairness, the CN will actively avoid asking OOC clarifying questions about posts. This indirectly rewards vagueness, as it gives the opportunity for players to 'adjust' their actions knowing what others have done since. Please be as detailed with your character's actions as possible. Any vagueness of action will be left up to the principles of realism and the discretion of the CN. If you have any questions about this, please contact Rigby .

Honora watched as Avalon Eldouir tore into the king as if it were all a dream—as if none of this existed at all. The roof continued to peel away and daylight entered the throne room was left open and gaping as the wound in the royal’s chest. Watching the swirl of blood above her start to turn, she waited for its inevitable descent upon them until…
The crash of the cold blood surrounded her, but they remained the same as they were. Opening her eyes, Honroa would see Hiram Eldouir, limp on the floor, within her reach.
Myla, get us out of here—
Honora rushed to Hiram and took his face in his hands; not in tenderness, but out of necessity as she delved into his mind, searching for the knowledge of where Elena was. Myla’s red energy field would start to lift Honora Allemeade, Avalon Eldouir, Hiram Eldouir, October Montgomery, and @iliana.
Blast Generation - Avalon is able to generate blasts of powerful, pressurized air at whatever she targets.
A pressure-force generates in her core that creates a blast. She can direct this blast at people or objects. This means that if someone stands in the way of the blast force, it will not go through the person but hit them instead. If someone knows about her Gift and is feeling heroic, they would be able to throw themselves between her and her target to intercept her attack. This would result in them taking the blow.
The force of power behind Avalon’s blast is determined by how much she “charges” the attack. Charging looks like her focusing contained magical power into her core that she then releases at will. An attack with lesser pressure will be generated and released in a single post. An attack with moderate power will be charged for one post and released in the next post. Her most powerful blasts need to be charged for two posts and released in the third. For context, the most powerful blast from Avalon can tear apart stone, earth, and sometimes even metals.
Apart from power, Avalon can also manipulate the size and precision of her attacks. Sometimes they are large and all-encompassing, like a hurricane, and sometimes they are small and specific, like the loosing of an arrow. She can release any size in a single post, and the wreckage it causes is then determined by how much power she charged into it.

A grin formed on her face when she saw the hole she had torn in Akagi Llewellyn's chest. That's what you got for killing her sister. She threw her hair over her shoulder and turned towards the throne room. Before she could see anything , blood washed down over her, which wasn't a good sign. The grin faltered when she saw Hiram Eldouir on the ground. Honora Allemeade was already on her way over to him, so Ava stood still. Who had done this to him? She didn't have much time to look around and figure it out before Myla would start to lift them up.
Shrine Magic
Akagi wields a saga enchanted naginata, that when touched allows the wielder to cast bright red orbs that explode on contact. Akagi can cast single orbs or produce up to four orbs in a powerup to cast at once for a bigger explosion.
