The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
From Valeria's room, Cordelia would open the portal to Nevermere. Together with the three children, the women would walk through the door. Once in the palace, Cordelia would look around. She hadn't been in Nevermere before and the palace was unfamiliar to her. Guards would soon approach the group, most of them recognising Valeria. Cordelia pulled the children close and looked at the lady in waiting before turning towards a guard.
"Queen Ophelia Rainecourt has asked me, the King's Hand, Cordelia Olivarius, and Valeria Delaney, her lady-in-waiting, to come to Nevermere with the children. The Eldouir are on their way to Arynn Frey, and the queen wants us to protect the children here. She told us to find Kennet Caren, who would take us somewhere safe."
The guards looked at each other before one of them departed to look for King Cassian's Hand. He would return with word of where Kennet wanted them to go. They would get one if the private rooms to stay with the children. Lorelle was softly crying again, a fistful of Valeria's skirt in her hand while looking for consolation from the woman.
"Let us go", she told Valeria, hoping she would be able to bring them to the room, although the guards would also walk with them.

This would be the first time Val would use the portal however, she can't focus on that as she needs to focus on the task at hand, the Queen asked them to look after the children and as her lady-in-waiting, it is part of her duty. So make sure that the children are safely through the portal.
As they arrived, she took a deep breath to steady herself and felt ready to tackle any challenges ahead. Being back in Nevermere, she quickly recognized the guards approaching them and confidently suggested they needed some assistance by gently looking towards the children.
Noticing Lorelle's soft crying, she knelt beside her with assurance. "Everything is going to be okay. I promise we will be safe," she said confidently, giving Lorelle a reassuring smile. "take a deep breath and we can walk together if you want?" Lorelle nodded and Val stood up and took Val's hands and she looked towards Cordelia.
"The quickest way is this way." Val started making their way to the private quarters. She kept her eyes and ears for anything that might be out of the ordinary, as she wanted to make sure that they were safe. She was glad that there were guards near them so if anything happened there was two guards to help protect the children.
It didn't take long to get to the private room that Kennet informed us that we were allowed to use.

Cordelia looked at Valeria who was interacting with Lorelle, and smiled softly. It was a sad smile. It felt wrong to console the children, because they had no idea what was happening with Ophelia and Akagi. With the Eldouir, there was no guarantee that they'd make it out alive, and Delia felt guilty. She had taken Elena's soul. Without her, they would have been able to just hand over Elena again. But hadn't that been the entire point? To make sure they were down one Eldouir? She just wished she could take the blame for it.
The group was escorted to a room, and a guard was stationed outside. Here, they would be safe. Cordelia set the younger children down on the sofa and looked at Valeria and Lorelle again. She gestured with her head to ask Val to come over to her side of the room, so they could talk without the children hearing.

When they were inside Val she looked around to familiarise herself with the room. She knows she has plenty of time to get used to the room. However, her military background made her want to analyse each room as soon as she walked in, especially in these situations. There are four kids now in her care and it more then just four children, they are the children of the king and queen of Arynn Frey, one of whom is the future Queen.
Val guided Lorelle to the sofa and knelt to help keep her calm when she noticed Cordelia giving her a lock. "I will be right back." When Lorelle nodded Val walked over to Cordelia her smile faded to more of a look of an active solider. "So what is the plan?

She waited patiently while Valeria was still kneeled by the sofa, talking to Lorelle. They would need to check on the youngest child the most. He was only a year old. He needed a lot of care.
Eventually, Valeria walked over and asked what the plan is. She sighed deeply. "I don't know. Akagi told me to take Ophelia and the children to the safehouse with the rest of the family and the cabinet members, but queen Ophelia overruled the order and told me to go here. When I asked if she was going to the safehouse, she ignored it, so I fear she has joined Akagi in the palace." She paused, making sure she had been talking soft enough. "If the Eldouir are coming to Arynn Frey, there's no way of telling what will happen. I fear they're coming for Elena." She wondered what Valeria thought of it. If she thought they'd have to give her back to the Eldouir. She couldn't tell her that Elena was dead because of her. If something happened to Akagi or Ophelia, she'd never forgive herself.

Val looked over to the children well Cordelia spoke. "The Queen should have come with us, the children need her." Valeria wished that the Queen spoke to her about this as well, it is her job. Val took a deep breath as she thought for a bit, "If they are coming for Elena then I fear they will do everything to get her back." and it scary that they will even try to destroy all hope in their path. She looked at all the children, a part of her looked at the youngest as he is only one not much older than Ora and a part of her worried about them.
"The main point of action is to keep the kids safe. we might be here but their majesty put the children in our care, so we need to be strong and level-headed for them. As I know Nevermere, I will make sure that there are witches outside the door. The Lady Kennet will possibly put additional protection on, so if anything were to happen we would be made aware as soon as possible. I am also sure the captain commander will make sure his best soldiers are guarding us." She still was unaware that Hadrian was in Arynn Frey.

Cordelia didn't fully agree, but didn't necessarily disagree either. It would have been best to stay together, yes, and maybe Nevermere was even better than Arynn Frey. Still, the Eldouir could teleport everywhere. She wasn't sure whether they would come for the children, but better safe than sorry. There had been no time to discuss this with Valeria. The queen had barely had the time to discuss this with Cordelia. There was no changing it now.
"I'm worried about that too", she said. And for more reasons than Valeria could know. What would they do to Akagi when they found out Elena was dead? Cordelia sat down on a chair, trembling slightly. Oh god. If something happened, it would be her fault. She nodded at the mention of witches and knowing Nevermere, barely registering it. The reality was starting to come down on her.
