The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Our dearest and lovely admin welcomed her new baby boy, Jet, on Sept 7th! We're so happy for her and her family! Congratulations Mama!! Your boys are all so lucky to have such an incredible mom to love them! God bless!
It had been a very successful day. They had sold almost all of the puppies and even a few of the older dogs which was always trickier to do. Embry had even got to meet Scout, the former Lady Steward and newly appointed Advisor of Law. From October could tell the two had hit it off well and that made him happy. Plus October had got to spend a lot of time chatting with Countess Bellerose and that had been rather lovely. He was really enjoying getting to know her.
The family sat around the fire as it crackled in the hearth, sipping a variety of drinks. Their mother was nursing as wine and Rutger had a hand on her shoulder behind her chair as he sipped on a brandy. "I'm feeling tired, I think it's time for me to retire," Rhea finally said. Rutger nodded. "I think I'll join you," he said, tossing back the rest of his drink. "Fine work today. I'm quite pleased with how it all went.

“Goodnight.” Embry’s voice was soft and slightly distracted as she looked up from the book in her hands, it was some new sheet music. The excitement from the day still left Embry with a slight buzzing rush, not quite ready to retire to her room for the evening, though she didn’t fault her parents for being ready to call it a night. She offered each a soft smile from where she sat, closing the book of music she had been glancing over. “Yes, it was a rather good day. I am still so thrilled Lady Kane decided to take both the Ibizan Hound pups!” Recalling her excitement overtaking her and how she’d even given Lady Scout a hug. She couldn’t help it, Embry had hardly met any ‘strangers’. And she had decided rather easily that she would be friends with the woman.
“I couldn’t help but notice you appeared to be having a good time building a rapport with Countess Bellerose.” Embry shot her older brother a playful smile with a raised brow. “She’s much too pretty for you, my dear Otto.” She teased, setting her book down on the table and gently shaking her head in amusement. As the youngest sister, she of course had to give her brother a difficult time.

October smiled as Embry spoke about Lady Kane. It was a great connection for her to have and October would encourage that all he could. He liked seeing her happy. "Yes, that was quite an exceptional sale," their father agreed. "Goodnight to you both," he said as he left the room.
Otto gave a polite nod to his parents as they retired before Embry made her comment about the Countess. He gave her a small smile before she then commented on the woman's looks and he chuckled. "Well, I can't say you're wrong there. She's certainly far too lovely for the likes of me," he agreed.
"Actually, I went to visit with Lady Whistlebottom, as per our mother's request," he began a bit hesitantly. It was well known that Baroness Whistlebottom was a matchmaker. "She had a couple of suggestions for me..."

Of course there was a certain degree of respect and recognition that came with being born into such a well known family, but that didn’t always guarantee one to have well established connections. Embry had caused a bit of discomfort with her parents when she ended her engagement, but for the most part they understood… or at the very least accepted it. She couldn’t help that the idea of intimacy frightened her now and she had exactly been trying to secure herself a match.
Despite their mother’s persistence in discussing eligible bachelors whenever she could. Embry almost felt sorry for her efforts, as the woman was near determined to be a spinster.
Her elegant smile lit up her face at the sound of Otto’s chuckle, glad he could enjoy her teasing conversation at his own expense. Though the mention of Lady Whistlebottom definitely peaked her interest. “Oh, you did?” any interest in her book was absolutely lost as she was rather eager to hear how things went. “Well, don’t keep me in suspense Otto! What did she say?”

October had to admit that he did delight in keeping his sister in suspense, knowing that she would ask such a question and intentionally withholding the information until she did. He grinned and chuckled a little. "She had two suggestions of whom I should set up meetings with, Scout is one of them actually," he began knowing she might be most invested in this idea. He wasn't sure how he felt about Scout. He didn't immediately feel a strong attraction towards her but he rarely did and he didn't know her all that well he had to admit. "As well as Countess Florina Bellerose." It was the woman that he had been talking to during the puppy sale.
