The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

The tour had not yet left Cambria, although it might have been about to depart when he reached Nevermere. Ibrahim had responded to his wife's letter, letting her know that he would be coming back to Lakeview Keep alone. Ares Bashar would stay on the tour. It had been a difficult discussion, but eventually the men had decided it would be best if he stayed to experience the tour and keep an eye on other nobles.
Ibrahim had arrived at the keep and had embraced his grieving wife, before leaving her in his brother's care and going to find his niece Violet. She had been the only one to survive the fire, out of all present children. Whereas normally Ibrahim behaved a bit cold and distant towards her, now he approached her with his arms held apart slightly so he could give her a hug if she let him.
"Oh sweet girl", he said, as he embraced her. "I'm so glad you're doing alright."

The fire had truly been dreadful. Violet could not get the image of flames out of her head…nor the screams of her cousins as the fire consumed them. She could do nothing. There were too many obstacles in the way…her magic would have only made things worse. She’d lost her cousins, and if that weren’t bad enough, most of her wardrobe was all gone! She was only left with the articles of clothing that she’d packed away in the Skia estate. It was all too dire for her to take!
Her uncle would find her sitting in a private area, sniffling into a handkerchief. When she saw her uncle she would rise, fresh tears pouring out of her pretty blue eyes, and she would run into his arms to bury her face into his shoulder, “Oh uncle!” She wailed, “It was awful!”
