The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Zarha was getting in some training today. She knew it was her off day but she was taking her free time to get in some extra training. These woman are strong and she want to make sure that she was in the best shape possible so she can help them in the best way possible. She want these women to feel that when she goes back to nevermere that they are more then just Woman. She know that she can't change the nation. Not that she want to, it a beautiful place and what is a nation without it's nation. However, if Zarha can help even one lady to feel the worth that she is then that the main thing right.
Zarha doesn't know what the next five years for her will bring, if she will progress in the military or if she will stay as a soldier her whole career, but her helping where needed that more important to her then to be seen. So she was currently in a open area doing some laps.

Mune had been out of town for a while. He'd gone with a small troop of Coheedsmen to inspect the wall that the Arynnites were building. As always, he was pleasantly surprised when he returned home to find that his wives and children were all still alive and that the city hadn't been burned down. It made for a nice change.
The man found himself wandering round somewhat aimlessly. His children were all practicing, training, readying for the wars to come whilst his wives prepared the evening's meal. The former chief of Hausten wished to make himself useful in someway. With his family having no need of him, he would see if anyone else needed any help. He would pause momentarily, his attention falling on a woman he didn't know. He watched her silently for a few moments, before realizing that she must have hailed from nearby Nevermere.

Zarha faced a new challenge during her mental preparation for her run. The hot weather made it harder for her to push through her usual routine. Despite this, she continued on, determined to reach her goals. During her run, she noticed someone observing her, and her curiosity was piqued. She doesn't recognise him from Nevermere so it makes it interesting to say the least. She know that men here have their opinion of woman.
"Do you want to join me Sir?" She asked as she ran closer to him. Giving him a warm smile.

Mune raised an eyebrow. At first he assumed that the woman was just going to continue on her way as she ran along. He could only imagine what would have happened to her had she tried something similar a few years ago. Even now, it struck the man as being odd. It was something that he wasn't convinced that he would ever get used to. He would manage to return the woman's smile, despite his surprise. "You'll have to forgive me, I'm still not quite used to your people being around here." He said it with no hatred or anger.

Zarha slowed down before stopping as she then looked at the man in front of her, he was apologising. She didn't expect that. She stretched her muscles. "There no need to apologise, I am still getting used to being here, the heat, the big yellow ball of heat in the sky that is called the sun. Different from Nevermere." She was saying it in a good light.
Different cultures after all and she still having to get used to the way things that done around here. "I'm Zarha." She bowed her head slightly a show of respect to the man in front of her.

Mune considered the young woman. He knew a few tales of Nevermere. In the scheme of things though, he knew precious little about the mysterious kingdom on the other side of the mountain. It wasn't somewhere that he particularly wanted to go and check out. "I forgot... No sun." Who could possibly want to live in such a place. It sounded almost hellish. "How do you grow anything?"
The former chief would hesitate for a moment, before slowly breaking into a little jog. He didn't possess any enhanced speed but kept fit enough to be confident that he could keep up with a Nevermerian soldier, at least for a while.

"Like I think there still is a sun up in the sky, however, we can't see it as it is always covered by clouds, so we can never see it." Zarha couldn't helo but give a small laugh, she never really thought how they did farming. Growing up she kind of accepted the way things were so she didn't think about how can they do it, when that was the only thing she knew. "I honestly do not sir, if I ever find out the answer I let you know." Giving the man a warm smile. The sun was their normal and in Nevermere not to see the sun.
When the man starting running Zarha couldn't help but have her smile widen. Training always her favourite activity and she want to see how a Coheedian man holds up. Zarha tries to keep pace with Mune, making sure she doesn't try and show off or anything.

Mune couldn't wrap his head around the notion any better for the explanation. It was the hellish landscape that he'd been told about. Just how it was that the men and women of Nevermere weren't more mentally scarred than they were was beyond him. "If I could never feel the warmth of the sun on my skin, I would go insane." The former chieftain answered quite earnestly. He'd been to Lorendale. Twice actually. Granted, the first time he hadn't really had the opportunity to take in much of the scenary, being too occupied in his attempts to invade the neighboring nation.
The man would do what he could to keep pace with the woman. Generally, he tried to do what he could to avoid the foreigners within their nations. "You're a witch, aren't you?" He thought that all of the women of the nation of Nevermere were indeed witches, at least that was what he had been told.

After pondering for a while, she realizes why people in Nevermere may feel driven to madness. It's likely that a significant number of individuals there are frequently in a state of despair and hopelessness, lacking the warmth of the sun to uplift their hearts. "I have not been here that long and I can say I am enjoying the warmth of the rays. It kind of relaxing."
When he asked if she a witch, she knows she have to be careful about what she says because there are some things she cannot mention somethings. Zarha knows she can't mention anything about the men shifting. She know that Coheedian know some things about magic. "Yes, I am a witch." She thought that being brief would be possible be best she doesn't want to get into trouble. "What is it like living here in Coheed?"

He imagined that it must have been quite a culture shock for the witches to suddenly find themselves in this place; "You should have come here before Kaalim was chieftain." Now there were two peoples who wouldn't, and probably could never have gotten along. Witches vs men who believed all women to be inferior. Certainly, as a father himself now, Mune didn't miss those days other than for the people he had lost.
He had to bite back his tongue to avoid answering her next comment too quickly and risk trouble.
Terrible actually, we hate you lot an want our freedom back. No... The truth wouldn't do. Mune had enough common sense not to spit out all of that in the face of one of their occupiers who could easily turn him into a frog or something. Instead, he opted to be a good deal more diplomatic. "A lot has changed. it's been a good many years now, but it's still a lot to get your head around." The former chief answered. "Although it is nice not to have to worry about fire haired demons descending from above."

During their training session, Zarha turned to the man and smiled softly at the mention of Kaalim. She was genuinely curious and wanted to learn more about the history of the village. "What was it like before Kaalim became the chieftain?" she asked. She knew that in order to lead effectively, she needed to understand the social and political dynamics of the village. Zarha didn't want to be a distant figure, so she was determined to learn about the lives of the people she was supposed to serve.
The man responded thoughtfully, acknowledging the difficulty of adjusting to change. "It can take time to get used to changes, and sometimes they can be positive, while other times they can be negative," he said. Zarha nodded, impressed by his wisdom. She knew that adapting to change was a crucial part of leadership, and she was determined to do her best.
As the conversation continued, Zarha expressed her condolences for the recent attack on Coheed. "I'm sorry for your loss," she said sincerely. She knew that if she is to grow needed to be empathetic and supportive, especially in times of crisis. Zarha was committed to building strong relationships with the people of the village, and she hoped that her words would help to create a sense of trust and community.

Mune looked up towards the sky. It all felt like so very long ago. "Different. We all lived our own lives with our own tribes..." He missed Hausten's campfires. His brothers and sisters, his mother... All of them gone in the blink of an eye, reduced to little more than ash. There were only a handful of his people who had survived, not even enough to contemplate rebuilding what they'd once had. "That world's all gone now." The former chief declared. He had a new life now, one which had brought with it a family. He'd resolved long ago to focus on them, rather than the past. There was nothing to be gained by dwelling on what had once been.
The former chief would give the witch a sideways glance. He couldn't help but wonder what, if anything, the woman could possibly comprehend about what they had endured. As far as he knew, the people of Nevermere had never before suffered from the attacks the likes of which his people had been forced to endure over the course of a few months which had brought their people to their knees. "It was a long time ago." Mune wasn't foolish enough to assume them to be safe. The fireheads could appear anywhere, anytime and there was precious little that they could do about it. On that point, the man was curious. "The fireheads, have you seen them before?" Many of the Nevermerians seemed to be oblivious to the threat they posed.

Looking towards him as he spoke, she never really knew what it was like to live in a tribe, she guess, she thinks that the soldiers that she work along side is her tribe and yeah she might of gotten better with interacting with people she still doesn't see the soldiers as her friends, her tribe. They don't see her for them she is just another soldier which is possible her own fault because she spent years pushing them away when she possibly needed to speak to them more. "It still a tribe, it takes many... men to make a tribe work." She tries to make sure that she doesn't step on any toes. She knows that men here have their own opinion on women.
"Not personally, but I know of them, I have heard other soldiers talk, they are called Eldouirs. I had a friend whose people are sadly have to deal with them on a daily basis, they suffer day in and day out because of those..." There was a slight anger in her voice as she spoke about those Red-headed people.

The witch's reply concerning tribes only served to confirm to Mune that she didn't, and couldn't possibly comprehend what she was talking about. "Our tribes were our family." Was all that he could think to answer. The former chieftain couldn't help but look around this place where he found himself now. This wasn't a family. This was a lot of fragments of families being thrust together, forced to live under the same roof for fear of the monsters which could be found outside. He let out a sigh. "I suppose sometimes something different might come from the ashes." He wouldn't say better, only time would tell as far as that was concerned. Perhaps the only thing he could say was that the situation for women was a bit better.
"Those demons are a blight upon our world..." Was all that Mune had to say about them. It didn't seem to be enough. One single family had slaughtered more Coheedsmen than entire nations had been capable of doing. "I thought your chieftain was going to get rid of them?"
