The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Embry absolutely loved watching puppies find a home and the joy in people's faces when they got to add a new addition to their families. Some people were more emotionally attached while others planned to use the dogs purely for the work they could do. While she knew that why the bred and trained the dogs they did, she still loved it best when she knew the dogs would be loved too.
She accepted the coin with a smile. "Congratulations and thank you for your business, Lady Kane. I do hope we get to see each other again." She then wrapped her arms around the woman in a hug, not waiting to check if it was okay first. It was short though and she stepped away with a sparkle in her eyes.

Tallis shucked some gold into the woman’s hand, eyes leaving the dog only for as long as they needed to in order to make the transaction. She grinned as she stroked the dog’s head.
“Guaranteed I will,” Tallis said, whistling a little, and leading the dog off.

Scout hadn't expected the hug, but she laughed and liked it, hugging Embry back gently. "So do I. It was very lovely meeting you, lady Montgomery. Thank you for your wonderful help." She smiled and slapped her thigh softly to get the dogs attention before she would start to leave with them.
Magic Detection: The ability to detect magic. The user can judge magical aptitude, pinpoint magic being used within a mile vicinity, and even detect when potent magic has formerly been used in a space. The magic may originate from a living thing or from an object, it does not matter. There is no restriction to the kind of magic that the user can detect. The weakness is the spatial awareness limitation, and while the user can detect the presence of magic, they cannot detect the specific kind of magic being used.

She rather liked the joy she saw in October Montgomery’s face when he spoke of his dogs. He truly loved his animals, she thought, and it only served to make her find him very likable. Yes, they were a way to make money, but they were also living creatures that unabashedly showed their love to their people. That the breed of the puppy tended to be slow to warm only endeared it to Florina. She was much the same way, and it was like finding a kindred spirit, “I do believe we will get along well,” she’d have to think of a name. Perhaps Melody, or Aria. Something musical.
Florina watched Faye as she approached, and noted her interest, “Hello there!” Florina’s smile widened, and she would try and shift the puppy a little in her arms so she could reach out and let Faye sniff her hand, crouching if it would help her reach.

Faye was tall enough to reach Florina's hand without the woman needed to crouch, especially at her smaller stature. She sniffed Florina Bellerose's hand curiously for a moment before her tongue licked briefly at her fingers and then her nose was searching for the puppy in Florina's arms, noting the familiarity of the scent.
"I think she can tell they're related," October said with a soft smile, "she doesn't usually pay that much attention to the pups." He reached down to scratch Faye behind her ears but she didn't even give him the time of day as her focus remained on Florina's puppy.
