The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Aldrich had gathered the male warriors and had asked Imani to come with her Parabolti too. He wasn't sure if she was officially their leader now, but it seemed like it. He wanted to see how well the warriors fought now, and how well they were able to work together. Some of the men still felt like the women shouldn't fight, and Kaalim had said that the women were nowhere near the level of the men yet. He needed to see it for himself.
He had two goals for this training. He wanted to see how they fought when he didn't give any instructions, but he also wanted to teach them more of the Nevermereans combat ways. There were plenty of training swords in the training yard. A lot of these men and women used hatchets and things like that, but he wanted to see them use swords. They were easier to block attacks with than axes, hatchets and so on.
The lieutenant stood with his arms crossed over his chest and watched the female/male pairs he had made. There were more men than women, so they were also men fighting men. From where he was standing, he had a good view over everyone.
Imani's pose and body language was similar to Aldrich's. She had her arms crossed as well, and was paying attention mostly to the female warriors. Soon they would have that crèche that Aldrich mentioned to her, which would be good for the Parabolti.
"Come on, Riva", she shouted at one of the Parabolti women that was getting hit over and over again by her male counterpart's sword. She needed the Parabolti to do good, so Aldrich wouldn't think they were almost cause. Now that she was married to Kaalim, it was even more important to her to lead the Parabolti in a way that would show Coheed they were a force to be reckoned with.

By the men, Magda’s presence would be felt before it could be seen. She’d emerge from between the barracks with her entourage of four Coheed warriors whom she now kept close for protection…ostensibly. Her stature and the grandeur of her entrance might suggest she was not a minister of Nevermere but a queen.
“Sergeant Abbott…a pleasure” She purred as she approached Aldrich Abbott, gesturing with a casual flick of her hand for her coterie to stay back, which they did without hesitation, “What a pleasure this is.” It was as if there was a shift in the air—the men would feel it, but the women would not. Magda’s eyes would flicker then to Imani.
“And you even more so. I’ve heard quite complimentary things about you, Imani.” Whether that was true or not, a little flattery never hurt. But she did know who she was. It was her business, after all, to kn ow such things.

The women suddenly seemed to have the upper hand in all the combat sessions. The men were distracted by Magda. Aldrich grumbled and glared at one of the men when their eyes met. The warrior diverted his eyes and focused on his battle again. "Lady Ivanova", he responded with a smile, when he turned his head from the warrior to the woman. God, she was even more beautiful than he remembered. "It's a pleasure to have you join us." His eyes lingered on her while she addressed Imani.
Imani saw a woman approach with her entourage, and recognised her as Magda. She smiled and silently stood next to Aldrich while she talked to him. Aldrich seemed very captivated by Magda, but she couldn't really blame him. Magda had a powerful presence. She wondered if the lieutenant had asked Magda to join their session, or if she just happened to stop by. Either way, she didn't mind.
The newly wed woman smiled at Magda when she complimented her. "I hope I live up to the expectations", she said with a soft chuckle. "Thank you so much for approving of the crèche. Lieutenant Abbott told me about it, and it will be so good to have a place for the Parabolti to leave their children while they're training."

“The pleasure is all mine…” Magda purred. Though she was responding to Aldrich, her eyes were fixed on Imani with the same lascivious gaze she often scrutinized men with….though this one had admiration she rarely offered the opposite sex. When Imani spoke, Magda chuckled, a sound as beautiful as the woman that made it. What a charming little thing she was. Strong, yet retaining the supple curves of her womanhood.
“Anything to aid the cause,” Magda said warmly, “The women of Coheed have waited too long for equal opportunity. I can only hope that the wait is over.”
Aldrich remained quiet and gave her the opportunity to talk first, since Magda was addressing her. The woman was kind, and her words felt genuine. Imani smiled. "Me too", she said, letting her eyes wander over the training warriors. "We're still not at the same level as the male warriors, but I'm sure that with Nevermere's support, and the help of Lieutenant Abbott and my husband Kaalim Cyrilson, we can get there." Once more she returned her eyes to Magda. "I understand that witches will be teaching the children at the crèche. I look forward to the next generation of our warriors, then. Nevermere's knowledge will get them far."

Aldrich softly bit the inside of his lip when Imani mentioned her husband, wondering if Magda would say anything about his brother, who was now dead, and the things Izen had done to her. He still felt like he needed to protect Magda, although she was a powerful witch.
"Maybe the next generation will even have witches' blood", he said, looking over at Magda. What were her thoughts on that? Witch magic combined with the enhanced strength of a Coheedian? If they could raise them right, to obey Nevermere...
