The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Cordelia had been tasked with finding the family and bringing them to Faanor. And so begon the dance of a hundred doors. Delia didn't want to be interrupted or stopped, and would use her portkey to travel from door to door to find members of the family and urge them to travel (by portkey) to the safehouse. She had found a few of them already, and had sent some royal guards with them while she continued on her search. Eventually she opened the door that led her to the door of the room in which Ophelia resided at that moment.
"Lady Rainecourt", she would say, slightly out of breath although she had only been running through rooms and not the whole palace. "I need you to gather the kids and come with me. Akagi has instructed me to bring you to the safehouse. The Eldouir are on their way. I will explain everything once I've gathered the rest of the family."
She would wait for questions. She would have to leave soon to find Kimora as well, but for now she needed to make sure Ophelia and the children were ready to leave.

Ophelia was with her children. It was an unusually pleasant scene. Lorelle was surprisingly calm, satisfied with her books and trinkets and not fussing as her mother ran a comb through her hair. The servants usually did it, but Ophelia took the rare opportunity to seek closeness with her daughter—for those moments were rare, given the child’s unusual temperament. Kato babbled amiably as he sat with a stuffed rabbit toy, chewing on its ear.
And then the entire scene changed. Cordelia entered on to the scene, causing Ophelia to yank on her daughter’s hair in surprise, which solicited a shriek from the girl. The child’s hand flew but Ophelia grabbed it before it made contact. There was a moment where Lorelle stared at the queen eye-to-eye before she dropped her hand and returned to her toys. The queen stood, smoothing her skirt…brow furrowing as she registered the woman’s concern.
“Where is my husband?” The queen demanded with obvious anxiety, gathering up Kato.

She had startled the queen and Lorelle, which she felt bad about but couldn't do much about either. It was a startling situation. "He is with Lord Usher, Captain Commander of Nevermere. I suspect they will come here to fetch Elena." She couldn't tell the queen that Elena was no more. It would worry her too much, because the logical consequence was that the Eldouir would be furious, and possibly take it out on Akagi. She feared Ophelia wouldn't come with her if she was concerned about Akagi. "The Peacekeepers are gathering around the palace and he has his guards. He will be fine, but we need to bring you and your children to safety. Some cabinet members are already there and I'll be looking for Kimora next."

“The children must go to Nevermere,” Ophelia said, handing Kato off to Cordelia gathered up a few possessions, including a set of boots, a bracelet, and a wand. Her expression was firm. She'd resolved something, that much was clear based on her expression. She took Lorelle's hand and, after kissing her on the head, handed her off to Cordelia as well.
"Take the children. Take Valeria Delaney with you, and find the King's Hand in Nevermere. I will stay in Arynn Frey with my husband." The tiny witch looked at the older woman firmly. "Go. That's an order from your queen."

Cordelia hesitated. She didn't like contradicting orders. "Will you go to the safehouse, your majesty?" she asked, although it was more of a plea. "I will have a guard gather the rest of the family and the cabinet members while I take the children and lady Delaney to Nevermere."
She waited for her response before she would go. She needed to be sure Ophelia would be safe.

Ophelia was not raised to be brave. To act on emotion. She was raised to be calculating, to be cunning, to know her place. But she'd started to change. Her place was here, here with her husband, in the kingdom she'd adopted as her own. And to leave now - though it was foolish to stay - did not seem an option. Ophelia would not flee while her husband died at the hands of an Eldouir.
"Go," Ophelia said, though this time more gently, "My place is here." The queen began to slip off her shoes, and slip the boots onto her feet. Once they were donned, she'd look Coredlia in the eyes one more time, putting the bracelet on her wrist.
"Go." And then, with a snap, Ophelia would disappear. Lorelle would start to cry while her mother, undetected with the wand in her hand and the protal key in the other, would open the door and go into whatever was on the other side. Provided Coredlia did not stop or stall her.

Dammit all. Ophelia avoided the question which led Delia to believe she would in fact not be going to the safehouse. She would be joining Akagi. The older woman sighed deeply and nodded. "Good luck", she said with a weak smile right before Ophelia disappeared. Then she placed a hand on the crying Lorelle's shoulders and squeeze lightly. "Don't worry. We're going to mommy's family for a bit."
She opened a a door with her portal key and went through it with the children. They weren't in Nevermere yet, but in another room in which she could find a guard. "Gather the royal cabinet and the rest of the royal family and take them to the safehouse", she ordered him. "Yes, ma'am." The guard got up and used his own portal key to disappear.
Then, Cordelia used her key again, this time to reach the room of Valeria Delaney. Once inside the room with the children, she would look around and find Valeria. "Lady Delaney", she said, nodding. "The Eldouir might be coming to Arynn Frey. The queen has ordered me to take you and the kids to go to Nevermere. Please grab anything you need, but quickly, because we need to go."

Ophelia gave her a little flat near the castle so that when needed she could travel to the queen well still having her own privacy. So to see Cordelia just portal into the place with the Queen's kids a look of worry appeared on how face, what happened. however, when Cordelia explained that it was the Eldouirs, she wanted to grab her sword and go into battle to fight against the Eldouirs to bring them down.
She wanted to ask where the Queen was, however, they needed to get going and she trusted that the Queen was a smart woman and she would get to the safe house. "If I need anything I ask my dad or my husband to bring something but in the meantime, our property is to get the kids safe." She didn't worry about packing however, she picked up a sword, cause if the Eldouirs were coming you never knew when you needed to fight.

Delia nodded, a soft smile breaking through on her worried face. She believed Hadrian was her dad. For now it seemed best to not tell Valeria that Hadrian had been in the office with Akagi and her. She didn't know if he would be staying, or if he would be returning to Nevermere as well. She nodded at what Valeria said. "Alright, then let us go. No time to waste." She put her key into the keyhole and turned it, opening up a portal to the palace in Nevemere.
