The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
She went to the healers as soon as she finished giving Ber the tour and she was nervous well she was there she hasn't told a soul where she was going however she thought it was best. She was indead expecting and she could indead felt the joy and excitment building up but also the fear inside. She doesn't know how she going to do this, but Keir promise to be by her side during her pregnacy and he will make sure that she will be looked after.
However first call of business is to tell her dad that she needs to step down for a bit. She doesn't know how he would react to it all. However she is a Usher she was strong, determind young lady so she went to his door with a smile on her face. She knocked on his office door and when he called her in her smile beamed. "Hello, captain commander I am here to give back reports of my travels and request something from you." She tried to keep a straight face through it all.

It was difficult to focus.
Hadrian’s head was entirely elsewhere. Kennet had invaded his senses, consuming his thoughts with a power that reached the level of obsession. He thought that having her would make the want hurt less, but that was turning out to be far from the case. Hadrian smiled to himself, riddling through paperwork, the strokes of his pen a little lazier than they would have been otherwise.
It was then that a welcome knock came at the door. Hadrian looked up, the smile perched on his lips spreading easily enough to a grin.
“Minnow,” He gestured for her to take a seat, “What a pleasant surprise.”

Val love seeing her dad grin it made her grin even more like it was even possible for such a thing. She was still nervous to tell him the news cause that how they lost mum. She sat down at the sit opposite his desk "Well I would like to say that the previous mission out at sea was successful, there was a storm to the north but we manage to sail through it without any loss or damage to cargo, ship or lifes. Some of the greenies were of course shaken because their first storm out at sea but they were professional and can see them raising up through the rank quickly with how they carried through it all." She explained.
"Next up the request." The smile faded a bit as she looked down for a moment as she tried to think how to go about it. She was not just sitting across from the captain commander, she was sitting across from her dad this baby grandfather. "Well I was out at sea, I was experiencing what I thought was sea sickness. I thought it was strange because I never had sea sickness before, however more I thought about it it couldn't of been sea sickness, I have other signs suggesting something else. So I went to the healer and." She paused for a moment before Val look up to her dad. "You are going to be a grandfather." She looked at him with joy in her eyes.

Hadrian nodded with a nostalgic smile. He fondly remembered the days of sailing out with new recruits getting their first taste of salt water. Even farther back he’d been one of them, instantly in love with the uncertain tempest of the sea. Now he was a land-dweller, but the love of the sea had never left him. He was glad that the dream could live on through Valeria.
The commander was stroking his beard, smiling and contemplative until Valeria’s next statement had him stop still. Did he hear her correctly? He looked at her, stunned for a moment before a smile like the dawn broke over his features.
“A grandfather, eh?” Hadrian stood and swept Valeria up into a hug. He supposed it was only a matter of time. With marriage, children were often soon to follow. Still, tears welled in his eyes at the thought. A grandfather.
He broke from her, smiling and holding her by the shoulders. "How long have you known?"

When she spoke her statement about him being a Grandfather and he stopped Valeria search his eyes. To see what he was thinking, he seemed shcoked. However when he smiled and swept her off her feet she wraps her arms around her dad's neck. Tears of joys welling up in her eyes. "You going to make me cry dad." She laughed softly. She was over the moon to see him this happy with the news.
Like it was a moment of time for her to get pregnant after hers and Keirs wedding and with how they are with each other it wasn't a matter of if she gets pregnant just when will she get pregnant. As those two well if she doesn't know how much Keir love her, he sure does show it in the bedroom, hitting all the right spots.
"Not long, but I possible knew for past couple of weeks but because I was going out to sea I didn't think to much of it to start of with. It wasn't till i came back today and got seen i knew for certain." Her face was being with joy, she slowly lifted the necklace that was mum's from her shirt and looked towards it. "I was thinking if it a girl I would name her Ora? After mum" She said softly. "and if it a boy Logan. Like I am going to run those names with Keir too. but I know you and Logan were good friends."

Hadrian’s eyes were drawn to the necklace, and his eyes filled with warmth. There wasn’t a day that went by when he didn’t think of his sister. Ora was with him in everything, just as he believed she was with Valeria. To think she’d be with his granddaughter as well brought him unbelievable joy. But at the name Logan, his face fell.
“Ora is lovely,” Hadrian said softly holding Valeria’s hands in his, “But…I have to ask you, minnow…perhaps another name might be better suited to a grandson.” It was a political calculation, not a personal one. Logan’s name carried too much baggage, too much confusion and resentment in the public square. He was the commander who quit. The man who had died in disgrace. That was not the kind of legacy a child should be burdened with—particularly if it could be helped.

Val knew about Logan's was the man who quit and died because he was cursed. "There still loads of time for me and Keir to think of names. There are loads of potential names we can choose from." Val squeezed her dad's hand. "I am looking forward to meet this one I know Keir will be a great dad and will be surrounded by people who love them. They will be strong."

A smile giving her dad's hand another squeeze before he let go to go on to more pratical side of things. "We are all set up in the estate, will have to buy the odd things for the baby now and set up the nursery. Overall, we should be ready for when this one arrives. I am going to try and get more checks with a healer to keep an an eye on my and the baby's progress through it all." She trying not to be scared that what happened to mum will happen to her but she was a strong woman and she will push through it.

“Good, good.” For Ora was not far from his mind. She’d died giving birth to Valeria, and the thought that he’d have to go through all that loss again was too much to bear. He smiled, chuckling a little before asking:
“And how’s the husband feeling about fatherhood?” There was a playful twinkle in Hadrian’s eye.

Valeria was of course nervous thinking if she was to pass through childbirth how it will affect not only Keir but her dad. Her heart and mind will always be thinking about them. Hadrian given her a lot for her treated her like he would his own daughter, and raised her to be a young woman. He made her stonge.
Val smiled and laughed. "Keir is over the moon with joy. When I delievered the news it took him a moment to figure out what i meant but after a couple of seconds he was on his feet dancing, singing he going to be a papa." She laughed.

Hadrian chuckled. Keir was a nice boy. Hadrian had grown fond of him, but there was no mistaking the fact he was terribly, terribly awkward. But he loved Valeria, and that was all that mattered.
“As he should,” Hadrian nodded, hugging Valeria again before holding her by the shoulders. “I have to get back to it, Minnow. But perhaps dinner sometime this week?”

Keir was awkward, but that was one of the many things she love about the man, the things that would make other people annoyed or felt wired about Valeria just adores, it was the things he doesn't like about himself she loves. Of course, if he wants to change an aspect of who he is Valeria would support him to the core just as long as he does it from himself more than anything else.
Valeria hugged her dad holding him for a moment, "Of course dad. Love you." She said softly giving her dad a kiss on his cheeks. She was happy this hardle was out of the way as she stepped back as she straighten herself up. "Thank you captain commander." She bows her head before heading out.
