The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Elletta was tired after the training for the day, training that hadn't been expected as she was summoned earlier in the day when she'd been expecting to have the morning to relax before having to head to the infirmary for that training. However, it hadn't deterred the spontaneous plan she'd hatched to get more than just the canteen as a housewarming gift. It'd been intended as something of a lighthearted gift of sorts but after the not-so-happy chaos that went down, she'd decided to try to find something to be an actual gift. And maybe a sort-of apology for yelling at him when he was obviously dunk, even if he might not remember it.
She'd left a note after she'd left his house, before he'd woken up, that she still had a gift that she hadn't had a chance to give him the night before but she'd seen him home and helped make sure that his home wasn't trashed. She'd included that she'd swing by at some point.
So it was a genuine surprise to see that there was someone standing outside the door to her very small home in probably one of the poorest parts of Skia. "Othello?" The package under her arm was covered but she still shifted it a little since it was supposed to be the actual gift. At least the canteen was inside her house so that part wouldn't be spoiled.

Othello was genuinely touched by @elletta from staying the night to watching Benji, that's what he assumed anyways, and that pulled at something in Othello that he didn't expect. He hadn't been hungover in the slightest he even remembered everything up to chugging his bottle of liquor in front of Elletta and Zarha, yelling at Aldrich too. Regan. Goddess knows he wasn't ready to deal with any of them yet to start an apology party was a future problem for right now, so he set out to find Elletta and where she stayed.
He had really got to ponder their friendship from Coheed to now and it was forming feelings that Othello hadn't yet or he hadn't yet acknowledged, but their last spar he definitely saw something bubbling to the surface.
It didn't take him long to find the woman's place and he hadn't been there long (long enough to knock and peek as much as possible) when he heard her familiar loud mouth call out his name. Collecting himself Othello turned from he door and gave her a little awkward wave, "I saw your letter and wanted to save you the trip of coming back...I wanted to apologize for my behavior at the party and toward you and the others after..." he just jumped in, "Thank you for yelling at me a little, maybe it's what I needed, but it shouldn't have been...I'm not good at these things so there, you have it. Sorry."
Her place was small and didn't have too much going, not on the outside. It was a small house, more a one and a half room shack than anything else with one small window into what looked like a kitchen through the curtain gap. If he'd tried to peek around to see anything else, he might've been able to get a glimpse of the edge of a bed and a chair.
Elletta could honestly say that she didn't think 'awkward' was something that could ever be used to describe Othello but that little wave definitely adora- awkward! (It was awkward, not adorable. Not. Adorable. Stupid brain.) Still she returned the wave, a little less awkward than his as her surprise bled into a little embarrassment of her own. Oh goddess, he remembered what she said and she still hadn't dealt with it herself.
"It's fine, you're fine. I, uh, prolly shouldn't have yelled back at ya either. So's that makes it even?" She shot him a smile.
What little she knew of everything, he had a right to feel angry and frustrated and shit, so she didn't blame him. As she'd been stuck thinking about it, the witch had more or less forced herself to realize she'd been more upset that he'd lumped her in with thinking she thought about him like everyone else did.
"D'you wanna come in?" And now she was feeling awkward. "Still got your gift."

Othello was feeling a little relieved and he smirked, "So's it do, even," when she offered for them to go into her place he nodded, "ye..yeah that's cool," he rubbed at his collar his fingers brushing his collar, "a gift? For me?" he wasn't use to gifts but he wasn't going to turn it down he was touched by the action.
Well, when faced with her own awkwardness, Elletta did what she did best and decided to ignore it in favor of plowing through. Considering that Othello was standing at her door, she'd wind up in his personal space to unlock and open her door unless he stepped back. If he didn't, her cheeks would most certainly be burning by the time she stepped inside and held the door open.
"Well it ain't much but its mine."
It was a small house, more a one and a half room shack than anything else so her bed doubled as her couch that faced one of the two chairs. There was a small kitchen with a smaller window with a half wall separating it from the bedroom-living room combo. There was a chest of drawers, a low table with a stack of books, and the dress from his party draped over one of the chairs.
"It was a housewarmin' for ya. Course I'd get something besides booze for ya." As she turned, her eyes caught on the collar for a moment before bouncing back up to meet his gaze. "How's your neck feeling? You scratched it raw and bleedin last night."

Othello didn't move to create space, well maybe a little, the wind picked up enough to waft a smell of Elletta...it reminded him of their spar in Coheed...the spar not entirely long ago...she smelled sweet and peppery. He didn't know her cheeks were burning but his face was suddenly basking in a heat of its own he covered it by rubbing his face as he followed her in.
As he surveyed her living space he only caught her asking about his neck, touching the scratches, "I was wondering what happened...uh..thank you, might need to be checked again, these collars are a bitcb and irritates my skin...," he stepped closer to her so she could look.
Elletta's brows pulled together as looked back at the collar on his neck, a little concern as her lips turned down at the edges. To free up her hands, the package that she'd been holding was dropped on to the end of the bed. While he wasn't incredibly taller than her, the height difference was enough that of she wanted to see his neck better she'd probably need him to sit.
"Uh, sit anywhere you like." Face definitely red as she realized the proximity, she lingered for a moment before she dipped into the small kitchen space and came back with a clean cloth and a pre-made poultice that she kept around for after her more intense training days. He had his pick of the bed/couch and either chair if he wanted.

Othello took a seat on the edge of her bed, "ah, very soft," he exclaimed to himself when Elletta walked away yet again he surveyed the room, "so are you like a healer? Medic I guess they call it here, do you like it?" Othello would adjust himself sk Elletta could tend to his neck.
She shook her head with a small smile, pretty certain that even the barracks beds were softer than her bed. She could definitely say his couch was.
Since he'd taken the bed (Shut up, brain), Elletta could either sit on the table in front of him or kneel on the bed to be able to work on his neck. Except she was pretty sure her table wasn't the most stable thing so bed it was. Setting the cloth and poultice on the table, she sat up on her knees on the bed next to him. Good thing that she'd been getting pretty good at pretending that she couldn't feel her face heating up.
"Officially a combat medic cos I'm still a soldier. Just not only for fightin' now." As she spoke, her fingers gently ghosted along the skin at edges of the collar. "I like it well enough. Never thought it was an option before or I mighta done it sooner."

When her hands touched the scratch and she was sitting so close his blue eyes didn't hide the fact he was looking her all over her face...she was...Elletta was very beautiful. He noted the heat in her cheeks how it radiated off of her, she had whiskey brown eyes, and the sweet smell he had always picked up on was coming from her hair.
"you have a gentle touch for fixing boo boos," he whispered so he wasn't shouting on her face, "...you always blush like that when you help someone though?"
Her face was practically tomato red and she could feel it as it spread to the tip of her ears. Be it from the way he was looking at her that she was pretending she didn't see with her eyes quickly darting down to his neck or their closeness, she wasn't entirely sure herself.
"Don't know what you're talking about," she murmured just as quiet but not convincing at all as she turned to grab the poultice off the table.

He didn't mind her touching him and when she moved to grab her stuff he found it odd he didn't want her to stop, still her denial was obviously cute. Red face and all.
He sat stone still and in his head little bits of the party (mostly after he stormed out of his own house) came back to him in audible fragments:
'I sure as fuck didna think o' you's like that in Coheed and that ain't fuckin changed!'
She had been shouting and poking him.
"Well maybe you'll know something about this, when you came to find me after I left the party and shouted about Coheed and how you felt about me then hadn't changed now," he had a serious and soft tone as he spoke, "how do you feel?"
Elletta nearly fumbled the poultice jar. Oh goddess above and damn it all. She did not want to have this conversation amd had been hoping that he didn't remember what had happpened so she could just pretend she never said anything and move on. Just go about her days and let any possible feelings die a quiet death with no one but her to know they existed.
But it was not her day apparently since it felt like everyone wanted to talk about it. "Does it matter when you're the one that told me you had a missus?"
An admission and an avoidance all at once, very much avoiding eye contact as she was more focused on the jar in her hands than actually looking at the man in front of her. She wasn't a fool and was very much aware of her tendency to have feelings for folks who either didn't return them or didn't want to pursue them or, turns out, had someone else already. Why would this be any different?

Counter question and Othello giggled, that was good, he did lean back drawing her full attention to the conversation to him, "Ögge? My ex-wife? She left, she wasn't going to be able to live here or bend to your ways. I let her go, I wasn't going to force her to stay...so the answer to my question does matter."
Well that wasn't the reaction she was expecting, and her ears started burning for a different reason. He didn't have to laugh or whatever at her, which just made it worse. Still, her eyes tracked his movement as he leaned back on her bed. Fuck, why couldn't he have just sat in one of the chairs instead? Even though she wasn't looking right at him that image would be stuck in her head. Elletta almost missed what he said but when she registered them, her hands went still. Maybe there was a little spark of hope that was fluttering around.
She bit the inside of her cheek and ducked her head back down. She couldn't say this while looking at him. "Would it matter if they weren't.... just friendly feelings?"
