The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
With Remiel gone he had spoken with Victor after Remiel left. He wanted to make sure he got on the same page as the two others that were going to be helping at the Keep. And so once done he had the man point out Lady Barlowe. Thanking the man he went on his way towards the woman that had been pointed out. He would have a lot to relay to the troops he was with, but at least they weren't being turned away.
"Lady Barlowe, my name is Astor Kane, I was hoping to speak with you?" Smiling he waved as he walked up to the woman. He hoped that she wouldn't think him the enemy, but he couldn't blame her. Troops had stormed this place not too long ago, and he could sense Victor's annoyance with his presence. He figured making it clear he was just there to assist would help.

Acacia was still agitated because of the way Remiel had spoken to her. Her shoulders were tense and in all honesty, she really didn't feel like working together with this Astor Kane fellow, for multiple reasons. The first one being he was a royal soldier, and after the regulations, the woman didn't quite believe the soldier had good intentions with the Keep. The second reason was his last name. The man was married to Scout Kane. He must be lacking some spine to be able to live together with such an annoying woman. Did he never get tired of her pretending like she was able to save the city? She assumed not, because soldiers that worked for the royal family must be oblivious to the fact that the Rainecourts didn't give a fuck about the population of Lorendale, and especially not about the Gifted population.
She was standing in front of one of the homes Reniel had built, and where she sometimes stayed if she wasn't at her own home. Acacia realised she had gotten more involved in the farm than she had intended, but she had to keep up the appearance that she cared about the Keep and Remiel, so she couldn't just leave now and abandon Astor while he was looking for him.
She heard him approach before she saw him. She slightly raised an eyebrow. Lady Kane was quite lucky, actually. The man was easy on the eye. "Lord Astor Kane", she responded, nodding at his request to speak with her. "Remiel asked me to help you while he is away. Tell me, what do you need from me?" She shared Victor's opinions and wasn't fond of Astor's presence, but she would have to pretend like she was. At least for now.
Astor was at least glad she was willing to talk with him. That was a start, and far better then getting the cold shoulder from the get go. He didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to try anything with the keep a second time, but all the same he was glad to be there. Any moves by anti-gifted would be squashed, and any soldiers with the wrong idea would be quickly court marshaled.
Nodding his head as the woman asked what he needed, the soldier wasn't entirely sure how to answer. He didn't know the woman or anything, but she would hopefully at least know who was friend or foe. "A few things hopefully, Lord Allemeade is expecting a Lady Oriana Dumont as some time, do you happen to know what she looks like? I wouldn't want to go letting in unwelcome guests."

Out of all the things this man could have possibly said to her, he said something that she had not expected in the slightest. Acacia was able to conceal the fact that she was surprised and the woman nodded instead. "Miss Oriana Dumont is a friend of mine, I will surely be able to recognise her." She had inquired about Remiel Allemeade when she talked to the blonde after the community meeting and Oriana had said she didn't personally know him. Had a lot happened since they spoke then, or had the woman lied to her? She would have to find out soon, because she couldn't afford to keep liars around. "Did Remiel say why she's coming to the farm?" She made sure to make it sound like Oriana did so many things around here that Acacia wanted to know what exactly she would be doing, and to not make it sound like she had no idea why a tailor would be coming over to the farm.
Astor was glad that she would know who this Lady Dumont was. He also hoped that giving the woman something specific would help as well. Considering he had no idea what this woman's gift was, or even if she was really gifted or just a close friend of Remiel's, he didn't want her to fight.
"No, he just was sure she would be coming." Shrugging his shoulders, Astor turned to survey the farm and sighed. He still thought the lot that the Allemeade's had gotten was unfair. But, it seemed as though Remiel had managed to make something out of it anyways. That was just so like his mentor, and it made him smile a bit.
Looking back over at Acacia with a curious look in his eyes, Astor tried to temper his usual smile. It might not have been the time for smiles but it helped him deal with the anxiety of it all. "How do you know Remiel? He was my mentor in the legion but he's never mentioned you."

Acacia nodded, still wondering what the hell was going on with Oriana coming down to the farm. She didn't want to assume, but Oriana was a handsome woman, and Remiel seemed to like pretty woman such as the seamstress. The first time Acacia had met Remiel, she had flirted a little but he hadn't played along. We're those two seeing each other? Had it been a secret? Is that why Oriana said she didn't know Remiel? All things she would have to think about and investigate later. For now she had to deal with Astor, and with how little she knew about him.
She put a hand on her chest and pretended to be hurt, but paired the gesture with a soft smile to make it obvious she wasn't serious. "I can't believe he hasn't mentioned me." Her hands returned to her sides. "No, I suppose it's not unusual for him to not have mentioned me. I haven't known Remiel for very long. I was at the first community meeting, where Remiel told your wife, Lady Kane, about his plans for the Keep." And where she shot him down. And now she's working together with the queen and Remiel. How the tables have turned, she thought to herself. "I thought it was a very noble thing, and I visited him to ask him if I could help. I still have a lot to learn about Lord Allemeade." She looked at Astor, with a curious look. "When I asked him if we could trust you, he became very hostile and ridiculed me. It was nothing personal, of course, I simply don't know you, Lord Kane, so I wanted to make sure Remiel trusted you with the Keep while he's away. He's never acted that way towards me before." She thought for a moment. "Perhaps it's the legionnaire in him then. I didn't know he served with you."
