The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
It was about time Ora meets her grandpa, the fur babies all love her, but for Valeria her Grandfather was the most important man she wanted Ora to meet. It is wasn't for him she wouldn't of carried on to be the woman she turned out to be, and she might never mat Keir that evening in the training ground. Hadrian made Val the woman she is today.
They have arranged that with the busy scheduled that Hadrian has this was the best day for him to come and visit. She made sure that Ora had her nap and was feed as each day as she looked down at her daughter a sense of pride rest in her heart seeing her daughter, seeing the few curly locks of hair that reminds her of her husband.
As they sat in the lounge area with Ora next to her With Night and Loxie at the base of her feet and Jink curled up next to Ora, forming what looked like a protective barrier round the baby, it was cute that the animals formed such a loving relationship. When the door knocked Hadrian would be welcomed in and lead towards the lounge area well some of the dogs stand up to see anything Val just stayed calm. Telling them that this person nobody to worry about.

Hadrian knew he had waited too long to see the child. He should have been there, perhaps, or at least visited in the days following. But over the past weeks, Hadrian had changed. He’d become more irritable, swinging in his temper, more absent from family matters, and consumed entirely by the enormity of the political and military realities he was facing.
He sat in the carriage for a moment to collect himself. Valeria was a woman, but still a child in his eyes. He didn’t need to inflict his foul temper on her—not when she was adjusting to motherhood. This was an occasion for joy, Hadrian told himself. And he wouldn’t deny her that celebration.
Eventually, Hadrian made his way inside and entered the lounge. He smiled to see her—genuine, but the lines of his face were strained. He came forward and kissed her on the cheek.

Val knew that the events from the ball and other events had put a strain on everyone. Expectations for everyone were higher then they had ever been before. There was no room for mistakes to be made, not a foot out of line. Noting the lines on her dad face she have learnt to read her father face, like it was the back of her hand, so she just hoping that this will give him some of the most needed respite that he currently needed.
"Thanks dad. Tired but she is worth it. Hope you are well?" Smiling softly, it was clear in her eyes that she was tired but the same love of any new mother was there. Eyeing the space next to her suggesting he can sit down. "Do you want to hold her?"

Hadrian sighed with an exhausted chuckle, running a hand over his face.
“I’ve been better,” He said, knowing that it was the understatement of the season, “I would have come sooner, but, well…” Hadrian’s voice trailed off as he searched for an excuse but found none. He looked at her, his niece, his child, and felt so inadequate standing before her.
He smiled, nodding and taking a seat next to her. Hadrian would take the child into his arms as he’d taken Valeria into his care a thousand times before. He held her gently, looking down with a smile.
“She looks like you. She has that black Delaney hair but otherwise..." He smiled.

Laughing softly, "no need to apologise, with work and everything that's been happening." Even though she wasn't an officer any more she still has a military head. It just shows that Val will always put what is right for the kingdom first. However, there was still a part of Val that wanted her dad to see his granddaughter sooner. To be a part of her life just as much as he was for her.
When Hadrian nodded and took a seat next to her carefully placing Ora in his arms. "Yeah, Ora definitely got the curls, she going to have beautiful hair when she grows up." Smiling softly seeing her dad holding his granddaughter for the first time, a slight tear came to her eye but it was pure and she was happy.
Ora opened her eyes softly as she looked up with her big eyes looking at the man holding her. A small hand landed on his and Ora little hand wrapped around one of Hadrian's fingers.

Holding the small babe in his arms, Hadrian was overcome with emotion. Some of it was what he’d expected—the light of grandfatherly love filling the crevices of his heart with its glow. But that light was dimmed with a sorrow that sprung from a well far deeper than he’d thought it to be. It was mourning, perhaps. Mourning the fact his years had passed him by, that the life he’d dreamt of with Kenent was dead, and that he was forever reduced to his military career—nothing more. The price of failure would not only be his livelihood, it would be his legacy.
“She’s beautiful,” Harian said, gently bouncing the child as he gazed at her with a distant expression.

"Yes she is." Val's voice showed a hint of pride as she looked at her daughter in Hadrian's arms. She was Val's joy, she would give everything she can for Ora. She looked at her dad and saw the look in his eyes, giving him a soft kiss on his temple as she rested her head on her shoulder. Just rested her head there for a moment. "I am proud of you Dad." He might not see it but Val knows that at least for her, she wouldn't be where she was now if it wasn't for him.

It hurt. Hadrian looked back at Valeria, a misty distance in his eyes as if he were a million miles away and not here beside her. He held the infant in his arms—the next generation of Nevermere, while he was nothing but fading gray.

Seeing the look in his eyes killed Valeria, more then see would like to admit, work got to him, the one thing Valeria told him over and over to talk to her when work got too much for him. Softly taking her daughter from Hadrian's arms and walked towards the door and seeing one of the staff. "Can you put Ora to bed she getting a bit tired." Val ask the staff as she stepped back a bit, "Boys protect." And with those two words the dogs stood up and started to follow the staff upstairs to Ora's room.
Once it was clear she walked over to Hadrian her face was serious. "What is there to be proud of? are you fucking serious? Do you think you would of gotten to a commander because you sat on your ass all day crying? You are a fucking Usher, I didn't want to work in the navy because I just like the water. I wanted to be in the navy because I see what amazing leader you are, ever since the night at that ball you blamed yourself. None of use could of predicted what of happen that night. Nobody, you hear me!" Standing there in front of her dad with nothing but a serious look on her face.
"Now weather you like it are not you going to tell me what the fuck up, we won't move until we have formed a plan of action. This is my home so what I say is a order..."

Hadrian was reluctant to let the child go. He held on to her for as long as he could, the emptiness he felt remaining as the babe was carted away. His eyes followed her, followed the dogs as they took after her exit. And then Valeria. He stood and listened, his expression first one of shock, and then one of…rage. Rage that Valeria would have only seen two or three times in her entire life. He’d done good to shelter her from it, but now the dark storm clouds gathered in his eyes. Hadrian could still feel the absence of the child in his arms and instead saw his own child—or as close as he could ever come—standing before him as a woman he did not recognize.
He was quiet. Quiet for a long time before he spoke.
“Did Keir Delaney teach you to talk with a mouth like that?” Oh, his voice was quiet, but it was ever so serious.

Valeria knew she wasn't being ladylike when she swear in front of her dad. However, it wasn't hard to tell she was upset, she hated seeing and hearing her dad having no belief in himself. When he asked if her Keir taught her to talk like that, there was a flame, Keir was a good man, sweet, yes he has a pass where he would go to a brothel, but that is in the past. Her fist tightened.
"Don't bring Keir into this, this has nothing to do with him. I have asked you politely several times to talk to me, yet it has gotten to the point where I don't know what else to say. It hurts me to see you like this, i hate seeing my daddy hurting and the worst thing I can't curse the person who hurt you" There only three people she would curse somebody for, Hadrian, Keir and Ora. There was a small tear that ran down Val cheek as she stood firm in front of Hadrian.

Hadrian hardly recognized her. His sweet girl, swearing like a foul-mouthed sailor before openly defying him. Perhaps he’d been too soft with her, perhaps to atone for her mother’s death he’d spoiled her in a way he hadn’t seen until just now. What he saw now was an entitled girl who did not know her place. Hadrian had come to see his grandchild, but the child had been taken away to put another child in front of him.
“Watch your tone, Valeria.” No—no Minnow. Simply Valeria.

Taking a deep breath. "I am upset dad. I don't want to lose you." It wasn't that long ago somebody walked in the waters and killed themselves. "I just want you to start seeing that you are the best Hadrian, the best dad and best grandfather there is." It was passionate as she she cried a little bit.

Hadrian decided it was likely the hormones of a new mother that had gotten the best of her. That was an easier pill for him to swallow than the possibility that Valeria had been turned sour by her Delaney husband. Hadrian softened, but the fatherly warmth didn’t quite return.
“You’re not going to lose me,” He said, trying to be reassuring but not losing his air of authority. He pulled her in to hug her before parting. “You seem tired, Minnow. You should rest.”

When Hadrian said that she won't lose him there was a high in her heart. When he pulled her into a hug she wrapped her arms around him. "I am sorry for swearing." Even though she did mean those worse of him coming to talk to her about things.
"It just stress of sorting things out." She knows Hadrian need to know, but she wonder how he will act with his daughter going to Arynn Frey? "Queen Ophelia asked me to go to Arynn Fey. Thing is I have to Leave Keir behind and bring Ora with me or Or a stage here with her dad and the rest of the family. "
