The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

“It’s alright,” Hadrian assured her, though he wasn’t still entirely settled on the matter of the swearing. As the conversation moved to another topic, Hadrian’s brow furrowed. Leaving for Arynn Frey. Hadrian was reminded that he was the one who had set up the position for Valeria, back when Ophelia becoming queen of Arynn Frey was a distant future.

What does she want? She thought for a bit, "I want to do what best for m family and Kingdom. By going to Arynn Frey, I know it will give me great oppunity and will open doors for Ora when she is old enough, but a part of me want to be round there for my family. I knew this day would come but I didn't think it would be as soon as it was. I hoped I would have more time to enjoy my time as a mother. Any advice?£ She looked up to her dad.

Hadrian pursed his lips, expression conflicted. There was a strange twist of emotions there—both sadness and affection in equal measure. He cupped Valeria’s face in his hand, looking at her wordlessly for a moment before speaking gently and quietly.
“You are all I have Valeria. I have no wife or children other than you. I chose service over family; I don’t regret it, but know once the choice is made, you can’t take it back. You will lose something either way.”

Even though there was a soft smile on Val's face, there was sadness in her eyes. Hadrian gave up so much he could of had his own family yet here he was the captain commander. "You will always have me as a daughter, dad." It was soft, it was his little girl looking up at him. "I have talked to Keir about it and he is supportive of me going if it something I want to do. I am sure me and Keir will figure something out." As soon as said that, a few tears run down her cheek and she hugged her dad. Yes, she has been away from friends and family before but the idea of this is hitting home a lot harder than possible going a couple of weeks at a time. the idea of having to leave her daughter. She know she was doing this to give them a better chance in life but it still stung.

Hadrian hugged Valeria back, suddenly feeling very weary, as if he’d spent a full day training and the ache of exertion had settled into his bones. He wouldn’t investigate Valeria’s decision any further. Whether he agreed or disagreed with it was immaterial. Valeria would chart her own path; she was a woman, a mother, no longer a child in his care.
“Get some rest,” Hadrian said gently, “Spend some time with your little one.”
While you can, was what Hadrian almost added, but cut himself off.

Feeling her father's arms wrap around felt like a massive blanket around her. It was safe and warm. She knew in his arms she was protected from the outside world. However, she knows that she will have to face the responsibility of being a mother, wife, daughter and citizen of Nevermere.
"I will dad." Her voice was soft not wanting to let go, but after a moment she pulled away softly. Wipping around some of her tears and give a soft some as she looked up to him. "please get some rest yourself." She knew she should have expressed her concern this way, just being honest with him from the start, then going full-on sailor mode on him.

Hadrian sighed before nodding slowly. He couldn’t afford to rest—he knew that. Never before had he felt so old. The ache of age, he’d discovered, was different from the ache of exhaustion. But he felt both now, and it frightened him.
“I love you Minnow,” He said softly, kissing her on the forehead before gently leading her from the room, intending to see her up the stairs to bed.

There was a soft smile when Val felt Hadrian kiss her on the forehead. Hadrian is a good man and wishes to see how Val sees him. He gave up so much for Nevermere, for her to give her a life worth living. If it wasn't for him who knew where life might have taken her? He gave her an education, and a fighting chance to be the woman she is today. He is a great leader. "I love you too."
It has been a while since Hadrian saw her off to bed. However, as he does she feels relaxed, as Hadrian guided her to the room which was to the left when they got to the top of the stairs. Leaning into Hadrian as she reached the door. Giving her dad a small kiss on the check. "Love you dad." She gave him a warm smile before she headed into her room for a little rest.
