Captain Commander Usher, 

I write to you to let you know that I've made it to Coheed. I have talked with Kasper Van Zant to find out what Valana had accomplished while she was here. I wil be picking up where she left off, and I'll be working together with Van Zant. 

I also informed Van Zant of the disappearance/death of Katerina Winters. He requested permission to return home to see his family, and I denied this. As you well know, the journey to Dkia takes about six days from here by horse, which would mean Van Zant would be gone for about two weeks. We can't afford that. I need him here to work alongside me. 

Lastly, Van Zant has requested to be paired to a new partner. Is there anyone you would suggest?
