The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Ravi was working with promising horses, a pair of sister horses from a fifth generation of very proud horses.
"the one on the left isn't going to be fast, she's for breeding."
"No, Great Uncle she's going to be the twins responsibility, all things can be trained and taught," Ravi answered the voice in this head in a whisper, sometimes he could entertain the voices when people weren't around of course worked best just like now.
"sure nephew, but I promise she'll not break the way you want...the twins don't have it."
'I could do it! Ravi be serious you can barely contain an erection...'
"fuck you, I'm alive bitch," he grunted and rubbed at the back of his neck, little Navi was the worst for flashes of things in his head she triggered little anxieties. She giggled in the depths of his mind that weren't stable and for a moment he saw the little red colored girl on the horse giggling with big wide psychopathic grins, then she was gone. It was empty. The bastards. They came and they went but not without taking a little morsel of reality Ravi could hold....one day...one day he was sure they'd shred the veil and..someone was approaching. Collecting himself he was just Ravi now the Ravi he deserved to be.

Ares had been in the tobacco field for the last couple of hours. He loved being in the palace and diving into the heavy politics of Nevermere, doing his duty to spy on the enemy, but growing the tobacco was a point of pride for him as well as giving him the chance for an activity he found truly relaxing. You know, besides psychologically torturing and manipulating the people around him for his own benefit and pleasure if you wanted to call that relaxing.
As he moved towards the barn house he thought he heard muttering though he couldn't make out what was being said. As he entered the barn in made more sense. Ravi. Of course. Trust the brain damaged one to talk to himself. "Whispering sweet nothings to them?" Ares asked Ravi, nodding towards the two mares and drawing the rolled tobacco to his lips. "Ran out of luck with the human ladies?" he inhaled, the tip of the cigarette burning a hot orange as he leaned against the doorway and then exhaled in a long drawn out breath, smoke curling into the air.
Ravi didn't stiffen to uptight but he did look over his shoulder at his cousin Ares, "No, don't be ignorant," Ravi came off a little cross, "you've got to lead them and direct them, so you've got to have communication with them."
"Țalķ tÕ man òŘ běàşț...heheĥè úr ķrāźy ŕªvī..."
Navi giggled, 'you're really fucked Ravi, you talk to things people can't see..
"and his case of pleading sanity is communication with horses"
"You know I'm married Ares, seriously, the implications are relatively insulting," Ravi would lead the horses to their stalls, "did you come to bawk and insult me cousin?"

Ares grinned. He liked watching Ravi trying to defend himself. Of course he knew that Ravi was married though his little wifey had never drawn his attention. In fact he found her rather plain and boring. Lucky for Ravi. "I'd have just assumed sweet Annalise would have a habit of...leaving you wanting," he replied with a smirk before inhaling again on the cigarette again. "Maybe that's why she was such good friends with Eris." His former wife who was now in Beldam for reasons of insanity. Eris had certainly left him 'wanting' most of the time.
"I mean it's a good of a reason as any," he answer when Ravi asked why he was there, "but I was merely coming back from the fields when I spotted you on the way." Perhaps he'd go mess with Paris, he hoped he was home. But maybe Ravi could be an interesting replacement.
In moments of great frustration sometimes the voices...spoke for Ravi, sometimes they acted and made him do things. This time it was Uncle Bashar a man once deeply in love with his wife and honor bound to at least defend her (this was all of course made up by the fracture in Ravi's insanity.
"Just because you couldn't get your crazy whore wet fancy boy doesn't mean you can insult mine you limped dick prick," Ravi laughed, "Annalise drips like a spring boy, and I never fail to dick her down...I heard you couldn't get a spring virgin wet, fancy boy," and then the slack face, Ravi was just staring a thousand yards past Ares unaware of his outburst, "What?"

A brow lifted as the words came falling out of Ravi's mouth only to be followed by a blank expression and then seeming confusion. Ravi was an odd duck for sure. Ares just stared at him for a long moment and then suddenly started to laugh. A loud, barking laugh as he held his hand to his chest, tears pricking at his eyes.
He moved towards Ravi then, wiping the tears from his eyes as his laughter settled and clapped the man on the shoulder. "Ah Ravi, you sure are a hoot to have around." He pulled a fresh cigarette from his pocket and offered it to the man. "Care for a smoke?"
Ravi looked half insulted and half grateful, he didn't remember anything he had just said but still, "I am a Bashar not a Hoot," and Ravi waved both hands at the offer of a cigarette, "No and don't smoke around the horses or in the barns Ares, all the health risks and fire," he explained in a tone that sounded more like 'do I have to explain this?'

A poor excuse for a Bashar if you asked Ares but people rarely did. Not yet anyway. Not yet. He didn't bother responding to that particular comment though. Instead, at the man's warning, Ares gave him a long look before drawing in a deep inhale of the drug, the tip burning a bright and vibrant orange as he did so before slowly letting the smoke slowly exit his lips. "You mean this barn?" he asked as he pushed himself off of the frame of the door he'd been leaning on and stepped fully inside, holding out the cigarette as the tip burned and the ashes threatened to fall onto the dirt floor. There was no hay or wood beneath his feet at the moment but that wasn't the point.
'He's challenging you Ravvi,' Navi said in Ravi's head, which made Ravi stiffen. He didn't like confrontation so head on because that's when the voices made him do more impulsive things.
'He's very clearly challenging the boy, if it were me I'd have walloped him on the ear!'
[/u] said great Uncle voice.
'ķÌll ĥiM ŘavĮ...,'[/u] growled the wolf.
"Ares, just don't," Ravi pleaded, not whiney, but more of a warning and Ares like the rest of the family knew poking Ravi lead to situations.[/blockquote]

Ares rolled his eyes as Ravi's pleading. He gave him a long look and then sighed. He put out the cigarette on the bottom of his boot and then tucked what remained into his pocket, not willing to waste the rest by tossing it away. "I take it back, Ravi. You're no fun at all," he said, clear disappointment and annoyance in his tone.
Maybe he ought to go find Annalise and see what kind of fun he could take from her while Ravi was busy here. It certainly sounded more fun that this. He didn't say so, of course, he simply walked over to one of the stalls to look at the horse inside. It was an old, bony thing, not worth looking at really and it seemed to think the same of him, staying as far back in the stall as it could as if Ares were an imminent threat to its safety.
"You should probably go before I do have to be fun Ares," Ravi said, lapsed again in a broken fog so he wasn't really there and the words he spoke felt like theh came from a different person, "I would hate for you to get Navi'd...cousin.....just keep poking," he made a gargling noise a sound memory from when Navi was executed for cursing him...but not really, Navi had never done such a thing. Ravi took a step toward Ares, "keep fucking around Ares, and find out."

Ares looked over to his cousin with annoyance in his expression. "What the fuck are you on about? I put it out, like you wanted, and now I'm standing here looking at this piece of shit horse. What part of this looks like 'fucking around' Ravi? Get your head on straight, mate." He rolled his eyes and looked back at the ugly horse, it's ears flat against it's head in the furthest corner of the stall.

Ares looked at Ravi with a furrowed expression, glancing between the pitchfork and the psychotic man in front of him. "Who's fucking around now?" he asked incredulously.
Ravi gripped the pitchfork and for a second he almost put the old horse down himself and he pictured himself smearing Ares dumb face with the blood, laughing at him. Instead he dropped it and touched the scar on the top of his head a small moment of clarity, "Sor...sorry Ares."
