The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Cynthia Pineton, an acquaintance of Ben and Nithya, was hosting a small get together with some of her and her husband's old friends. Nithya hadn't had a chance to check in with Ben, but she assumed he would show his face, possibly with his wife, if he had the time. It was a casual event, but most people were still dressed up nicely. The young woman had been escorted to the manor by a servant and watched the carriage leave, lost in thought. Some pleasant banter with old acquaintances and friends would do her good. She had been very busy lately, making preparations for the tour the king had spoken to her about.
Nithya entered the manor and was greeted by the Pinetone's servants who showed her to the sitting area where Cynthia and Arnold were talking to guests that had arrived before her. She smiled and greeted the couple before settling into a chair with a glass of wine.

Ben showed up alone. Ellison had other responsibilities she had to attend to and they had never minded doing separate activities. He was looking sharp but a bit more on the casual side, top buttons of his shirt undone in a stylish way. As he entered the room to see everyone that already there he offered his greetings and then moved over to the empty seat next to Nithya. "Hey! It's so good to see you, anyone sitting here?" he asked.
In all honesty, Nithya wasn't much of a party-lover. She enjoyed formal events, hosted by the crown, or events she had to attend as royal courtier, but friendly parties/get togethers such as these were not her cup of tea. For that reason, although not that reason only, she was relieved to see Ben walk into the room. She knew him the best out of everyone in Nevermere, probably, because they had been friends for a while now.
"No, it's totally yours, please, sit." She smiled but her eyes widened a bit, causing her to pull a face that said 'please save me'. Ben would know she wasn't a fan of parties such as this one, especially because she really didn't know the hosting couple all that well. But, and of course there was a but, catching up with Ben and having some drinks would be nice, and because this wasn't a very formal event, she could let loose a little and even drink a bit more than she normally would. "You have no idea how glad I am that you're here", she added with a chuckle.
