The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Despite his commitment to @veda , well she wasn't here now was she? And what happened to the old saying of what happened on the tour stayed on the tour? Sitting his instrument down Othello popped on a sprig of mint not exactly chasing Vesper Delvaux but quickly making progress towards her. Getting more of a scope on the traveling camp he saw his "old pal" Cam Pyetr to which he shouted on his course toward Vesper, "Lord CAM! DIRECTOR MY BOY! MEET UP FOR SOME COLD ONES?!"
A vision of Othellos cold ones implied Othello drinking a cold brew over the dead body of Cam. But it was a vision, no harm, right? A man can dream.
Approaching Vesper the big Gifted man cleared his throat, "Lady Vesper Delvaux , the woman who gives ice its chill, what a small pleasure seeing you out amongst us drivel," he quickly added respectfully, "excluding his Majesty of course," Othello whispered, "What exactly is all of this?" he'd walk with her despite the chill she brought from her exquisite cold aura. Not lingering far from him were his "two tails" he called Bert and Ernie, a love story really.

Vesper continued her stroll as Othello chased after her, seemingly paying him little attention until he was right beside her. She looked over at him, her back stiff, her expression suspicious. Hmm, yes, drivel indeed. She only paused for a moment before she kept walking, expecting he'd walk with her if he was determined to have a conversation. "What do you mean?" she asked to clarify his question. Was he asked about the tour in general? Or the camp? or what?

Othello scratched the top of his now bald head (he had shaved before leaving Nevermere) right where the dragon tattoo was, "Um...all...of...this...why are the nobles here? Why am I here?" Othello had slowed down for Vesper to better understand, after all he felt he was pretty clear, still he looked back at Cam Pyetr or towards the man's direction because he didn't like the man, if he got the chance on their trip "he'd go missing" or both halves of him would be because Othello would likely cleave the man in half.
"Why is that little flimsy man called the Director here? He has it out for you women folk," Othello shivered into a should shrug, "Gives me the heebies..his locked in inn was where the Commander had sent me cause I was naughty and hurt his feelings," Othello straightened his back placing one hand behind his back and the other across his gut, mocking the little high lords all around them (this old boy never changed; fuck new tricks he thought! Some old tricks still did the magic!), "But I rectified my arrogances mi'lady and now the Commander and I are just the best of friends."

Vesper frowned when he attempted to clarify but it left her feeling confused at how little he seemed to know about this. She didn't answer right away as he asked about the Director. Vesper had never had the pleasure of meeting him. She'd heard whispers about Beldam of course but had never even seen it in person. She didn't like the way that Othello said the man 'had it out for women folk'. What did that mean? Perhaps she ought to door some more digging on the man, and maybe Othello would be the perfect place to start.
"You don't know why you're here?" she asked with a haughty tone as if he was a child who simply hadn't been listening in class. "So, what? Someone just said 'follow along' and you did so without a single question?" she asked. She couldn't help her clipped tone, being friendly wasn't her strong suit, but she was interested in the conversation more than she thought she would be. "Who even asked you to be here? Surely that at least might give you a clue as to what your purpose is here." It certainly made her wonder what that purpose was too, especially if he really didn't know why he was invited to come.

Othello just had to fire back, "Would a picture perhaps help?" was what he was about to say but a quick biting of his tongue had him reflect upon his own actions. What would happen? He was definitely running out of saving throws these days.
"Questioning orders got me thrown in Beldam my lady," so instead he sighed slightly annoyed, "Is that not why I was picked to be the King Champion? Does this collar not represent my status amongst your people? Could I have said no to this? Do you really believe I had a choice?" Othello felt a lot of these people were stupid and truly blind to the world outside of Nevermere.
"The best man in the world told me I had to be here, the Commander, so I ask again does a man like me get a choice?" Othello didn't like to think Vesper was stupid but flags were rising. He reached up to scratch at the collar which after so long now had left a constant painful red rash but all the scratching had started to leave small long cuts, dry skin, and some minor swelling.

Vesper halted fully in her steps this time and turned to face him as he spoke. Her gaze dropped to his collar as he spoke about it and she stepped so close that they were nearly touching as she gently reached up to drag a finger slowly along the metal, her eyes tracking the movement of her finger. It was nearly...sensual.
Then, in a flash, her icy eyes shot daggers as she met his gaze and his fingers wrapped around the collar, making it feel even tighter around his neck with her fingers between the collar as his throat and even tugged down slightly so he'd be forced to either fight back or end up nearly nose to nose with the Inquisitor.
"Fine, you don't have a choice. But I simply can't believe that a man like the Commander would have told you to be here without telling you what your task is so don't act like a child and whine about it. I don't know what the King wishes to do with his pet-" What did 'the King's Champion' even mean? "that is none of my business. So no, I don't believe you have zero idea why you're here and I don't appreciate you playing games with me." She lifted her chin slightly so her nose traced up the arch of his before she released her hold on him and turned away to keep walking, though she continued to speak as she expected him to follow her.
The soft step, thud, step, thud, step, thud of her leg as she walked was a familiar sound. "As for what this is, it's a gathering of those the King chose for his own purposes to tour Nevermeren lands and those lands we've gained in order to see what Coheed and Cambria have that can benefit Nevermere. It's to show us the kind of progress being made and where our future might lead." Political games.

Othello would have been panting like a dog had Nevermere not rounded some of his edges but it didn't stop him from having the hardest rod of steel in his life which gave way to the thought of what was happening to him? Did he find himself enjoying being berated and controlled by this sexy peg legged witch...he breathed her in when she rubbed her nose against his. Fuuuuuck! He WAS AS HARD AS STEEL!
He didn't really hear a single word she said the as the blood rushing from his brain and through his ears were drowning out the mean words. All he could think about was railing this mean bitch with a mouthful of her stump in his mouth...
The thump of her walking away had Othello adjusting his weiner an quickly falling in step behind the love of his life.
"Cambria huh? It'd probably be a good time to tell someone about my rocky history with them fine fierce womerns..." he chuckled.

Vesper was no damsel or a young, innocent little thing. She noticed the way his expression shifted at her actions and she took note of it, tucking that information into her pocket for future use. As she released him he fell into step quickly behind her and though he wouldn't be able to see it, her eyes sparkled with his obedience. Perhaps he could be her pet as much as the King's.
She intentionally didn't look in his direction to show her interest in what he had to say. She wanted him to work to find the words that would please her. She wanted to see how far he'd go for her approval and pleasure. "I'm listening," she said, her voice neutral and her pace unchanged.

"Well, it happened years ago," and for the mea bossy lady in front of him, the woman he would happily throw himself upon a sword just to drink a cup of her bathwater, Othello would spill anything for her, "A storm washed me and my crew upon their shores. Their leader at the time descended upon us before we could piece together that we were in danger; in what she thought was fair their leader gave us a chance to run to the lands of Coheed but her women gave chase mowing my crew down quickly, but we ran, lords we ran but a big one of theirs had caught up to me just as I was about to be free," Othello didn't mind the backside view of Vesper either as he explained his story, "We fought, I had to, surviving is in my blood so I cleaved the big bitch down...then a second one showed up and I believe the two were sisters because her reaction wasn't one of a mere friend or just a sister warrior. She split the very ground between us...I thought it would be the end of it," Othello let a little chuckle escape him, "when Regan took me, she was chased down by a woman she couldn't see and made her swear that I'd be returned to her for justice...all of this I knew nothing about until we snuck into Cambria to arrest Isolde..I walk now into the lioness den."

Vesper listened to his story in silence without looking back at him once. She didn't know what she expected from the story but it definitely sounded like quite the tale. Was Cambria just as vicious as they were then? She halted in her steps at the end of his telling and turned abruptly to face him. "Did this happen to you before or after Cambria was under Nevermeren rule?" she asked, her grey stone eyes staring at him intently as if the information would mean life or death.

"Waaay before, I was a much," he casually flexed his arms and gave his most smoldering look his gray eyes seemed to soften and appear brighter as he smirked, "Much younger," he ran a hand over the top of his head, "Handsomer," he was clearly flirting now and he didn't care who knew about it.
