He wasn't trying to wrap her around his finger. He was being genuine, and there was a beauty to it, because it felt like they were like-minded individuals. "I won't press you on the whole Gifted matter, but I feel like we have similar thoughts and ideas. Know that I'm always open to hear those thoughts. They're safe with me." He would smile again. Annabeth felt safe with ellior when he explained that her opinions safe with him, it was heard to belive cause it was hard to picture somebody care about her opinions cause normally they want to hear her opinion if it work for them instead of her true opinion. Her fingers linked with his, "I feel like i am sick and tired of trying with the gifted community, I try so hard for them, but they see me as a laughing stock somebody to be used. For years all I did was give for them, where my thanks." She explained softly.

"I want to help you Elliot."

He could feel her hand on his, and he stroked her hand with his thumb, in a reassuring way. "I feel the same. I gave Ikisina everything she ever wanted, but she used her Gift on me and is now telling people that it's not true. Their Gift has taken away their ability to be thankful for people that try to help them. I understand you. I know how it feels." He let out a deep sigh.

When she said she wanted to help, he turned his gave towards her. "Thank you." He was surprised that she was so outspoken about helping. "I personally don't know what we can do. That's why I want to visit Quinton in a few days. Join me, if you're interested?"

When Elliot explained that Ikisina used her gift on him her heart ached for him. "I am so sorry that Miss Navarro, it isn't nice to have that sense of freedom taking away away from you." Her voice was apologetic even though she knew she wasn't the one who needed to say sorry, she wanted to say sorry even if it took the pain away even a little bit.

When Elliot explained that he hoped to visit lord Quinton in a few days. Stroking his hand a part of her was nervous she doesn't know if there anything she could personally do to help them. "I am interested Elliot."

He smiled softly. "You don't need to be sorry so much, Annabeth. I appreciate it, though, but only I can be blamed for it. I should have expected that an orphan her age would take advantage of me. Only the small ones are grateful when someone offers them a place to stay." He kept smiling. "And don't you dare apologise now that I've said that. Don't worry, I'll help you get through the need of apologising for things you're not to blame for. It's the least I can do."

He wanted Annabeth there, but he was a bit hesitant. This wasn't just light banter. "I hope I don't offend you with this question, but can I be sure that you genuinely feel this way? I don't want to bring Quinton in danger by introducing him to the wrong people."

"I'm..." Annabeth wanted to apologise for apologising, she wanted to apologize, it is a habit for habit, feeling the need that she always did something wrong. "Just habit i guess." She laugh softly.

When Elliot asked if she was sure, she took a little bit of time as she thought about it. "I am nervous that they won't be much help. I am worried that I let you down because I am very good at letting people down."

Elliot pushed himself up, so he was sitting again. "Hey, hey", he said softly. "You're not letting me down. I'm thankful that you shared your opinion with me." He would rub her hand again and smile. "I promise." He would wait a second before speaking again. "It's just a sensitive topic. Quinton and I don't want to be accused of being anti-Gifted, is all." They absolutely were, but still.

feeling his hands stoking hers she placed her free hand. her thumb strokes his hand. "I would never dare accuse you of being anti-gifted" Her voice was soft. the way he said that she not letting him down made her heart ache, she hope it is true because she is great at letting people down.

"It's not anti," he said, sounding as if he was teaching someone about something, "it's about seeing it how it is. The Gifted don't use their Gift for good, and bring us regular people in danger. So seeing the truth doesn't make one anti-Gifted. We're the only ones who dare to speak." He slowly let go of her hand to lift his glass from the table. Elliot took a sip and enjoyed the taste. Maybe wine would taste even better now he was blind. "Try to be comfortable with your own thoughts, Annabeth. I can sense that you share quite a lot of my opinions, but that 'anti-Gifted' label scares you just as much as it does me. Know that your thoughts are safe with me. I don't fuck people over, especially not people who saved me from death." And this, he meant. She could tell him she killed someone, and he would never speak a word about it to anyone.

It does scare her a lot because a part of her thinks it is not her. She always told herself that she is a good person. She keep telling herself that it she is a good person. She takes a deep breath. "I guess I am just scared of my own thoughts Elliot. I feel safe with you Elliot." She explained softly
