The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Donovan watched all of the other family members get whisked away by the pools of red until eventually it was just himself, Yeva, and Hiram left standing there. He looked to Hiram, expecting more orders now that they were alone, but Hiram remained silent.
With another frown, his gaze traveled to the gathering of Dresmondi nearby, and his eyebrows rose a bit. "Are we going to attack them?" he asked, not able to come up with anything else they could do here.
Yeva cocked her head to the side, tilting then tilting just a little more than a human was supposed to be able to. Her grin stretched wide, tiny eldritch child that she was.
"Why not? I want to know what dyr meat tastes like."
Mist swirled at Drystan's feet, climbing up his legs then torso till he was more mist than man. He wasn't here for the destruction like Azazel Eldouir was but to keep threats away from the younger man. Taking out any soldiers was certainly going to be quieter from him than anyone else in the family anyway, and perhaps he might even get something interesting out of it.
Within moments, there would be a hazy shape of a man watching the wall, almost like a ghost while Azazel did his thing.
Kezia was possibly one of the last of the Dresmondi in Arynn Frey to know. She hadn’t had a wagon to come home to, and had taken up residence back with Sylas Llewellyn after their reunion and a few deep conversations. She and her dyrs were with him when the news came, echoing through the halls and the few Dresmondi close by. Wide eyes turned to Sylas before she was moving to try and meet up with the Queen, the one she knew would hold the power to send aide once again.
But would she? Kezia thought so… this was now on her land, not just Dresmond. And now her people would be the ones directly impacted. She’d arrive just after Akagi Llewellyn, ready to plead her own case if Kimora Llewellyn had other thoughts.

It took only a relatively short while for news that something was amiss at the wall to reach the queen. If at first, there was some confusion. The message soon became clearer. There wasn't 100% confirmation but they had good reason to believe that there was some force at the wall which wasn't Arynnite. By the time that Akagi had arrived, there was no room for doubt. Well, Kimora supposed that it would have been naïve not to expect at least some form of retaliation although frankly it wasn't what she would have done.
The monarch retained as composed an exterior as was humanly possible, her mind racing a mile a minute. "Summon the Ministers. I want @calliope to take her men there immediately." Hers were the men and women who had been given enchantments which should have allowed them to deal with situations just like this. Anyone seeking to attack using magic would find them shielded. Physical attacks would equally be knocked back. That should have provided quite the challenge, even for gifted. "I want there to be an escape route for the Dresmondi children. Those who wish to fight need to be supported."
She thinks of her own people then. "Sound the alarm. I want the city's garrison deployed and have word sent throughout the rest of the country. Make it clear that we are under attack from the Eldouir. See to it that Nevermere and Lorendale are also informed." It wouldn't be a call to aid, more of a warning.
The army would be mustering, part ready to defend the city. The rest en route to assist Callipe's forces and the remaining Dresmondi.
It was moments like this which could and would make or break a monarchy.
There was a wave of utter terror and panic which passed through the Dresmondi as they found themselves faced with the very force that they had run so desperately far to escape.
Even Camus found himself paralyzed for a moment as the relative safety that they had known came collapsing about them. He felt so stupid to have thought that any of them were safe, even here. With a shake of the head, the man pulled himself together. He reached down, tightening the strap of his artificial leg. The man reached for his spear, grabbing it as he hopped out of the window. Mercy was there for him, ready. He landed on her tusk, scampering upwards has he had done so many times to settle on the elephant's back.
There seemed little point in shouting out "we're under attack" since that was pretty obvious from the lava getting tossed around. He turned towards his children, startled with their eyes wide with fear. "You two, help the others. Get everyone who can't fight out of here!"
He had given the twenty lots of enchantments to the handful of remaining Adoi that had taken refuge here. Well, thereabouts. The Arynnites had clearly thought essentially of their own when they had made the items. A dresmondi after all didn't only need to worry about themselves, they had their dyr to think of. There was little point in protecting one's body when one's soul was an easy target. So the decision had been made to give the protective enchantment to their dyr as well. So, in total there were only ten who were truly protected. With the dyr having little use for the truncheons and communicators, they had been given to another ten Dresmondi who didn't have any protective enchantments.
There was no sense in asking those to fight who didn't stand a chance.
Camus wasted no time. He had refused any of the enchantments but that didn't mean that he didn't have any intention of fighting. Mercy reared up, letting out a battle cry of her own. The elephant extended its trunk sending out a wave of flame in the direction of Hiram Eldouir. Did he think it would do anything? No, but at least it should get the monster's attention.

Sylas and @kezia had been together when they heard what was going on and Sylas knew that Kezia wouldn't sit idly by. They might not be physically near the attacks at the moment here in the palace but the dresmondi lived at the border and Kezia had never been the kind of woman to let her people suffer without trying to aid them. So he was at her heels as they hurried to speak to the Queen, finding Akagi already there as well. To his relief, there was already action being made and a plan was quickly set in motion.
Myla worked alongside Elena Eldouir. It was almost like old times, the two partnered up because they made quite the explosive pair. She didn't waste time with fancy displays of destruction or showy tricks. No, she worked to be effective and swift, tearing down the wall that the Dresmondi had worked so hard at. Though as she looked it over, she had to laugh...
Had they really thought that a simple wall was going to protect them from the Eldouir's?
At the mention of Kimora Llewellyn's plan, Kezia felt relief at the knowledge that there was going to be immediate action, but the tension remained. She looked back to Sylas Llewellyn, her eyes seeking his and her gaze snagged on the gold chain around his neck. "If I can get to the Dresmondi children... can I get them through the portal to you for safety?" She asked him, trying to think of how swiftly she'd be able to evacuate those she could instead of just hoping they could run or get their wagons moving fast enough.
The moment the message came through the pendant, Calliope swore the air blue around her. She had asked for ways to use enchantments to spy on the fucking parasitic red-heads and was denied. Through the communication pendants, orders were given as she donned her full armor. Every soldier under her command was instructed to equip their weapons as well as the truncheons, their bracers and their rings. As well as a reminder to keep their pendants with them.
"If you have a chance to use your truncheon's enchantment to knock out any of the Eldouirs, do so and either bind them or kill them. Preferably kill them. Do not let them into the city, defend our people." Her voice rang steady and clear across her soldiers' pendants. "Report any Eldouir locations immediately.
Calliope looked at her second in command Harbin. "Run our communications and track any sightings. Send me any Artillery members that can be spared if possible."
Warhammer in hand and her soldiers ready behind her, the portkey was opened to take them to the wall.
Arynn Frey was still asleep when the Eldouir attacked. The Eldouir had the advantage of surprise not just due to the time of day, but because Arynnites were not a people accustomed to violence. Making ready for war was different than living it, and perhaps Arynn Frey was about to discover what it felt like.
Kimora Llewellyn would receive news of the attack roughly twenty minutes after it first began. This was a credit to the pendants worn by the peacekeepers on the wall. It would be another ten (thirty total) until @calliope received news of the attack and the Lewellyns were able to gather. Soldiers would be called, but Arynn Frey’s military did not exist on constant alert the way some other kingdoms did. It would be forty minutes after the first blow before the first fifty of @calliope ’s soldiers were dressed, equipped, gathered, and ready to enter the fray—the others continuing to join as they were ready.
In the meantime, the damage to the wall would continue mostly unhindered. The peacekeepers stationed on the wall’s smartest move was to deflect the attacks as best they could to save their lives until reinforcements arrived. With the alarm raised, the people of Arynn Frey were starting to awaken, but confusion was still widespread.
At the refugee camp in the south, a seed of panic had been planted by the first few to notice Hiram Eldouir , @donovan , and @yeva . They started to raise the alarm, Dresmondi emerging from their wagons in chaos and fear, scrambling away from the Eldouir.
Camus was the first of the Dresmondi to fight back, the twenty equipped with enchantments arriving on the scene shortly thereafter. Hiram Eldouir (and the others with him) would see Camus approach and have time to respond.
GUIDELINES
- POST TIMING:The CN will seek to post a reply every 48 hours, so please plan accordingly and take posting order into account. We will not wait for your character, and if they are a central part of an exchange then they will still be factored into what is taking place. Their actions (or inaction) will be narrated by the CN.
- SPECIFICITY OF ACTION: In the interest of fairness, the CN will actively avoid asking OOC clarifying questions about posts. This indirectly rewards vagueness, as it gives the opportunity for players to 'adjust' their actions knowing what others have done since. Please be as detailed with your character's actions as possible. Any vagueness of action will be left up to the principles of realism and the discretion of the CN. If you have any questions about this, please contact Rigby .
- POSTING ORDER:Hiram Eldouir will go before Camus . Other than that, no posting order.

Elena laughed wickedly alongside Myla as she continued her relentless attacks on the wall. She focused on the bricks from the bottom up, using her transmutation magic to turn the bricks into an acidic substance that would create holes as well as starting to erode the bricks around them. She worked in large sections, turning hundreds of bricks at a time, expecting that as some bricks eroded away, the ones above would loose stability to start to fall.

Azazel paid no attention at all to Drystan as he continued to berate the wall. He alternated between spewing hot lava against the bricks in wide arching blasts that spanned at least 30 feet and then using his giant fists and enhanced strength to pound against them.
Shrine Magic
Akagi wields a saga enchanted naginata, that when touched allows the wielder to cast bright red orbs that explode on contact. Akagi can cast single orbs or produce up to four orbs in a powerup to cast at once for a bigger explosion.

"We need the Calvary, their speed will be detrimental to getting people out and with their current head in Lorendale I will assume command of the division and I will seek King Cassian and warn him of the attack," Akagi would send a message via a communicator to prepare as many Calvary Peacekeepers that can use speed enchantments to boost their own speed (not their horses), he also instructed those daring to go in this mission to bring temporary portal keys so they could open several entry's within already constructed safe zones away from currently attacked zones. This was strictly a rescue mission as the divisons lead by @calliope would be there to deflect and provide protection.
The crowned Prince would pull his hood over his head, the boots of wore were silent enchantments and he would depart first to Nevermere to forewarn King Cassian Rainecourt.
"Until back-up arrives, partner up! One for portals for the refugees and two to fight and defend." The orders rang through the pendants. For those that were picked to fight with Calliope, their orders were combat first to cover the rescue.
Those were the last set of orders before portals were opened to the Dresmondi camp.
In the Infantry office, Harbin had a map opened and was directing small deployments to either the Wall or to back-up the Dresmondi camp.
