The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Othello was a powerful weapon—if he could be wielded. For a time, it seemed that the Huntsman had been successful in taming him. In integrating him into Nevermrean military life so that he would be able to seamlessly operate within the unit. But perhaps she’d been obscuring his faults to claim success. Or perhaps their relationship came with other benefits that made him more malleable to her (at this point, Hadrian wouldn’t rule anything out where she was concerned).
Whatever it was, the incident at the dock had made it clear rehabilitation was necessary. Beldam was a heavy bludgeon that could beat even the most stubborn witches into submission. Hopefully, in his time there, Othello had learned his lesson…though that remained to be seen.
Hadrian had informed Cam Pyetr he would be arriving, and that his charge should be readied to accept a visitor. The commander would be guided to a room where Othello would be waiting, collared, and under guard. The seasoned soldier would enter, looking the Allemeade up and down.

Othello didn't know of a visitor until he heard the doors open and the shackles were on, he had been relatively quiet the ĺast few weeks. He liked that he scared some of these people still even after all the pointless tasks, even with the collar they stayed on their utmost game when dealing with the day to days. Othello did what he was told and he done it best, he was widdle Othey boy the bested boy that ever lived!
He was a wolf in sheep's clothing and didn't care if they knew because it had kept him alive his entire life. When he saw the Commander he stood at attention cold grey blue eyes like the sea after a terrible storm stared forward, "Commander."

"It has been a lot of work Commander, they point and told me what to do and I did it," Othello didn't sound bitter in fact he sounded a little proud, "I am a dog and everyone above me is my master, that's what I've learned, and a good dog obeys," he took in a deep breath, "Which is why I will apologize for my lack of following orders that day. You are my Master, I will obey. I just want to serve to the best of my ability Commander, the ship, it flies and it goes under the water that's what you wanted to know and that's what I should have said," then he fell silent never once looking at Usher, he still didn't like the pompous self righteous asshole but Othello was getting tired of being here. He perhaps was the greatest actor of his generation.

Hadrian listened, partially cocking an eyebrow. It all did seem a little overdone. The man characterizing himself as a dog with a master was melodramatic at best, at worst entirely crazy. He resisted rolling his eyes, instead trying to appreciate the substance of what the man was saying.
“I do not require you to be a kept pet, Mister Allemeade,” The Commander responded, “I simply expect from you what I require of every soldier: fulfillment of your duties as directed. You could be quite successful here as a soldier and a citizen, Mister Allemeade, or you could choose to continue to be a barbarian out of place in a strange land. The former comes with glory and comfort, the latter with consequences. This is but a taste of what those consequences would be.” Hadrian raised his eyebrow further. “Do I make myself clear?”

He wanted to respond with a bark, ooooh it sat at the tip of his tongue but he didn't move nor flinch he had to play his part, "Yes sir Commander Usher, understood."

Hadrian nodded once. There was nothing more to say—only to make arrangements for Othello’s release. He’d be well supervised, whether he’d know it or not. Confined to the military wing with Hadrian’s eyes everywhere. Perhaps he’d been reformed, and he could return to serve as a great asset to Nevermere. Or then again, perhaps he hadn’t. And if that were the case, next time, perhaps his usefulness had run its course…
