The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Explosive generation - Avalon is able to create and direct explosions at people and objects.
Some kind of force shoots from her fingertips that creates an explosion upon collision with her target. She can use this to direct an explosion at someone's feet, or to make an object, like for example a barrel or rock, explode. They explosion is generated within her person, and fired from her hands, meaning the explosion doesn't manifest within the target, but comes from her.
Avalon had grown increasingly tired of sitting around the Eldouir estate and keeping an eye on Azazel. You could only sleep with your relative so many times before it became boring. Okay, boring was an overstatement, because he was exciting and dominating, but she wanted something new. So with her hair dyed a dark colour, to hide the vibrant red, the Eldouir set off to the city. She had heard that the House of the Blessed was under new management, and she still remembered the brothel from before she left.
Her dark hair loosely framed her face, the soft curls bouncing with each step she took. When she opened the door, she saw that not only the name of the establishment had changed, but the interior and the decor as well. There was a stage, and someone was performing. She stood in the doorframe a few seconds, looking at the act, before walking inside towards a table and sitting down. She let her eyes wander over the room, and they caught a redhead. She was a little confused, but quickly realised this was dyed hair. A little smile appeared on her face, both from excitement of seeing red hair, as well as from imagining killing her for acting as if she was an Eldouir. She wouldn't, at least not for now. Once the Eldouir ruled Lotendale again, she would have all the time she wanted to do something about this phoney. She assumed she must be one of the prostitutes. No same person would try to look like an Eldouir. Then who else... Who were the ones on the menu here?
After sitting and watching the show about ten minutes, she got up from her chair and walked over to the bar. "Red wine please, and please point out who is up for sale around here."

Abner had been at the door when the woman entered and had given her a brief nod. As a general rule women were watched less than men, rarely being the ones to cause issues, not to mention that they were also visitors less often, the place always had a much large ratio of men versus women so it was almost nice to have a women in the premises.
Topaz had been the one at the bar when the woman approached and he swallowed almost nervously. He was getting better and being more comfortable around the guests but he needed to make that decision to not be overly shy every time someone new approached him. "Of course," he said, fetching to grab a medium priced bottle of wine since she hasn't specified exactly what she wanted. "I'd be happy to," he replied at her second question. "Are you looking for a man or a woman?" he asked so he'd know who to suggest.
He poured just a small amount of the red liquid into a wine glass and offered it to her to taste so she could decide if she wanted something different.
Peter was sitting in his usual corner nursing a glass of whiskey and casually observing the room. It was a busy day and he was immensely pleased by that.

The young man behind the bar radiated insecurity, and it annoyed Avalon tremendously. She wanted to groan and roll her eyes at every movement he made, and every word he said, but she managed to contain herself and not do that. It wasn't easy, but she had been in more than one difficult situation.
Before answering his question, she tasted the wine and scrunched her nose. Foul. "This is disgusting", she said, pushing the glass back to him. "Get me something better." Then she would look around the room, her gaze finding Opal. Of course she didn't know that the blonde only served men, but even if she had known, Avalon wouldn't have cared.
"Her", she said, looking directly at Opal and expecting Topaz to see who she was looking at. "I want her."

Topaz' cheeks flushed when she rejected the drink. Not all wines were for everyone and he tried not to take it personally that her tastes were unique to herself but he didn't like feeling like he was doing a bad job when he already worried about that too much. He pulled her glass back and grabbed a wine with an entirely different flavor profile and pushed a clean glass to her with a sample from this bottle.
He had to shift to look over her shoulder to try and guess who the woman might be looking at. "In the white? That's Opal, she only serves men actually..." he said, feeling bad for not being able to just give her what she wanted. "Um, all of the other girls are open to women, though Glitter," he said pointing to a smiling beauty with brown hair and a sparkly gold dress, "does actually prefer women over men," he suggested as an alternative.

Topaz looked for another bottle of wine and poured a little bit into a glass, which Avalon picked up and held to her nose. She smelled it and swirled it around to let the aroma reach her better before tasting it. While she was doing that, she listened to Topaz explain how Opal wasn't much of a girls-girl. He suggested someone else, but she barely listened to him.
Once she had swallowed the whine, she licked her lips and looked at the young man. "Better", she said, pushing the glass back so he could fill it more. "I don't remember asking who she serves, but I do remember telling you I want her." She leaned on the bar and her eyes narrowed. "So maybe we make it happen, what do you think?" The tone of her voice didn't allow for him to say no.

As she approved of the wine Topaz finished filling her glass, feeling relieved that it was at least good enough on his second attempt.
As she told him she still wanted Opal and seemed unwilling to try anyone else, Topaz's shy little heart raced with worry and his face flushed a deep red. He didn't know what to do. He started to look for any help he could and caught Jewel's attention quickly. She was used to needing to come to his rescue though he was getting better and better at not needing her. "One moment please," Topaz said to the woman and stepped away for a moment as he started whispering to Jewel about the woman's demands. If it had been the former owner then they would have simply refused, favoring the Treasures well being over anything else, but Peter...while still pretty new to them, didn't have that same kind of mentality.
Jewel whispered something back to Topaz and the boy went scurrying off while Jewel approached Avalon. "I'm so sorry for the confusion," she said with a warm smile and easy demeanor. "Requests that are out of the norm for our treasures need to first go through the manager." She then motioned behind Avalon as Peter approached, having been fetched by Topaz who had now ducked into the kitchen to quite literally avoid having to engage with the intimidating woman again.
Peter was all smiles as he pulled up a seat beside Avalon. "So I hear you're interested in Opal," he said as he glanced over at the Treasure across the room. "I can't blame you, she's quite the beauty. As you know she doesn't usually spend much time with women, but I see no problem with your request." Unless he felt it was particularly dangerous, Peter maintained a 'the customer is always right' mentality. "I simply want you to know that she's not very experience with women and can't guarantee how...skilled she'll be in that. If that's alright with you and if you follow our other house rules then I see no problem with you spending some time with her. What do you think?" he asked, nothing but warmth and ease and a sense of serving in his behavior.
