The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Acacia and Tallis. Scorzas. What a thrilling delight! Azazel took their hands and spun them both at the same time in opposite directions so they wouldn't bump into each other and then pulled them out further onto the dance floor. For his part, he paid absolutely zero attention to Avalon, Hiram, or Honora. He was perfectly content to just let this moment be what it was. A fun time with like minded friends. He then pulled them both close against his hips as he swayed with the music, more than likely getting his body paint on their dresses and not even thinking about that being something he ought to care about.
Azazel was not the political player. He wasn't the type to start asking questions to get information that might be useful, he wasn't even sure what those questions would be. He wanted to make Hiram proud of him but had yet to prove his usefulness beyond the brute force and destruction of his gift. And for now he was okay with that.
Keeping Tallis Scorza still close to his hip, he turned his face towards Acacia Scorza and his eyes darkened as he smiled down at her. "You smell amazing," he told her. "Good enough to eat," he added with a rakish smirk.

Hiram pulled her in to spin her a half turn, really only doing it to bring her close. If her hands didn’t meet his chest then her breasts would be forced against him, their faces coming in close.
“So you have no people.” He concluded for her, based on the answers she had given. He didn’t have any sympathy for her being hurt by her husband. “If you were one of mine you would have known where to bury the dagger when he hurt you. If you were with us,” he was whispering now, “you wouldn’t wonder for a second.” It sounded very much like an invitation.
Blast Generation - Avalon is able to generate blasts of powerful, pressurized air at whatever she targets.
A pressure-force generates in her core that creates a blast. She can direct this blast at people or objects. This means that if someone stands in the way of the blast force, it will not go through the person but hit them instead. If someone knows about her Gift and is feeling heroic, they would be able to throw themselves between her and her target to intercept her attack. This would result in them taking the blow.
The force of power behind Avalon’s blast is determined by how much she “charges” the attack. Charging looks like her focusing contained magical power into her core that she then releases at will. An attack with lesser pressure will be generated and released in a single post. An attack with moderate power will be charged for one post and released in the next post. Her most powerful blasts need to be charged for two posts and released in the third. For context, the most powerful blast from Avalon can tear apart stone, earth, and sometimes even metals.
Apart from power, Avalon can also manipulate the size and precision of her attacks. Sometimes they are large and all-encompassing, like a hurricane, and sometimes they are small and specific, like the loosing of an arrow. She can release any size in a single post, and the wreckage it causes is then determined by how much power she charged into it.

The conversation only made the dance more interesting. She smiled at Cezar Scorza when he mentioned the Scorzas, a mischievous smile. "My oh my, the Scorzas?" She too kept her voice low. They didn't need the extra attention. "Where was this love for my family when we turned against Julius?" she asked, knowing damn well the Scorzas fled like scared dogs with their tail between their legs. "A new generation, a new chance, I suppose", she added, right before he skinned her around.
The air. Her hair. The lights flashing by. Avalon loved to dance, to be spun around. When she was facing him again, the excitement and happiness would be visible on her face. Oh how she had missed being around people, dancing, drinking... "I'd suggest we find a quiet spot to tear my dress apart, but you're quite the teas, aren't you?" she responded to his remark. Over his shoulder, she looked at his wife again. It was clear that she was the one in charge.
Spider Physiology - the power to possess the abilities of a spider. For Acacia, this consists of five elements (venomous bite, webs, enchanted strength, enhanced eyesight/darkvision, the ability to crawl up walls).
For more information on these elements, see character application.

Even after the spin, it took Acacia a few more moments to realise... That this felt wrong. A tree way dance, the way Azazel Eldouir looked at her, and what he said... She was a lady. She was to be respected. Acacia yanked her hand away from Azazel and glared at him. "I am not some common whore", she spat at him. "You either respect me or don't deserve to be in my presence." She took a step back and glared some more. She loved Tallis Scorza and was willing to follow her lead, but this was going too far. She wouldn't be talked to this way. She wouldn't be touched like this. She was a baroness.

Magic Detection: The ability to detect magic. The user can judge magical aptitude, pinpoint magic being used within a mile vicinity, and even detect when potent magic has formerly been used in a space. The magic may originate from a living thing or from an object, it does not matter. There is no restriction to the kind of magic that the user can detect. The weakness is the spatial awareness limitation, and while the user can detect the presence of magic, they cannot detect the specific kind of magic being used.

He spun her and then pulled her flush against him. It had happened quickly enough that Florina’s hands only managed to brace on his arms before their bodies touched. A quick inhale, an almost gasp, left her lips as her heart sped up again. It had been a long time since she’d been this close to a man. They were indecently close, close enough that they lips touch if she leaned in a little more…No! Stars, what was she thinking? He was an enemy of the realm…she was a lady…they were in public! Never had she entertained something so scandalous, but there she was, thinking about it.
She tried to push away to create a more decent distance between them, “You are very forward,” her tone was chiding, although she couldn’t keep away an undertone of…she didn’t want to name it. She used the impropriety of being so close to a man in public to move around the invitation. She wouldn’t lie, it was tempting…but she would not grace the invitation with an answer. Not until she had to. She already had family, after all, and her aunt had gifted her a knife…a knife that Florina to her shame had not bothered to learn to use. She didn’t even bring it to the ball. There didn’t seem to be the need to bring a weapon.
