With @temperance latching onto his hands and tugging him into the swirling crowd of dancers, Thom still had the presence of mind to turn back towards Artos with a quick command, ensuring that the large dog would settle down onto his rump and watch, rather than attempting to follow the two of them into the middle of it all. After all, as they'd both commented, far safer to keep him on the outsirts, where there was significantly less risk of him knocking anyone over. He did, however, have a better vantage point than Temperance did, due to an excess of natural height, so his eyes, as they constantly surveyed, were able to notice the two by the fountain, the kneeling man, the gasping woman, and... Ah. Well, the response was obvious enough. And though he was certainly happy for the both of them, there was a slight pang of jealousy within, one that stopped there long before it could appear on his face.
But... maybe it was a sign in its own right. Maybe it was simply time to open up and share the last little secret that he'd been keeping from Temperance over the last few weeks. And the dance certainly gave him time to think. It was easy enough to take her hand, to let the music dictate his movements, relax into the moment, and think. "As I said-" he spoke in passing as they spun around each other, continuing each time the dance brought them back together, where his words could be heard be her alone. "Mostly talking to people. But one person in particular." His hand shifted slightly as they moved around each other, down an invisible line, then back. "And it wasn't really work, though it was quite important."
Another turn, and instead of continuing with the dance proper, he caught her waist with both hands instead, pulling her in close while maintaining a bit of the motion, keeping them moving with the crowd of other dancers. "I went to speak to your father, Temperance. Because I had a very particular question to ask him. And your mother. And... Hazel too, because there really wasn't any escaping that."
