Tallis shucked some gold into the woman’s hand, eyes leaving the dog only for as long as they needed to in order to make the transaction. She grinned as she stroked the dog’s head.

“Guaranteed I will,” Tallis said, whistling a little, and leading the dog off.

Faye was tall enough to reach Florina's hand without the woman needed to crouch, especially at her smaller stature. She sniffed Florina Bellerose's hand curiously for a moment before her tongue licked briefly at her fingers and then her nose was searching for the puppy in Florina's arms, noting the familiarity of the scent.

"I think she can tell they're related," October said with a soft smile, "she doesn't usually pay that much attention to the pups." He reached down to scratch Faye behind her ears but she didn't even give him the time of day as her focus remained on Florina's puppy.

October grinned at the sweet, excited little puppy noise. At the same time Faye too seemed delighted by the sound and her own tail began to wag as she lowered her front paws in a playful stance, waiting for the puppy to join her on the ground. "Looks like Faye agrees," he commented, eyes sparkling with the sweet scene before he looked from the dogs and to Florina's face. Her giggle was rather sweet and he enjoyed seeing the look in her eyes as she engaged with the dogs.

October gave her a smile and a nod as she looked at him questioningly. It was perfectly alright for the two to play together. Faye was clearly excited but also gentle. Her tail wagged and she gently moved around the puppy, nudging her with her nose and getting lower to her level as the puppy bounced around her.

October moved closer to Florina so they could watch the dogs play together. "I do hope we'll be able to get them together semi-regularly," October commented, trying to be a little subtle about his interest in seeing her again. Courting was not his forte, he had very little practice in it and it felt a little strange but he was trying. He wanted to try.

It was both relief and elation that she agreed, even more so when she suggested it be soon. He didn't know what might come of this but he was open to giving it an honest, open-hearted try. Maybe it would turn into something beautiful, maybe it would lead only to friendship. Both were amiable options to be sure.

"I'd like that, perhaps we can look at our respective calendars when we finalize payment on this precious pup?" he suggested. Neither of them had any idea that those plans might just be interrupted by a certain redhead family.
