The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Should the Arynnites stop their attacks and the Dresmondi do as they were told, Hiram would take a moment to bask in the destruction they had caused. This. This was the Eldouir way. This was what Lorendale had made them: creatures of wrath. Exactors of vengeance. And now, with Arynn Frey fearing them, they could turn their eye towards his next target.
“That was fun.” He bellowed so that @yeva and @donovan could hear him. His creature, finished with its destruction, had a new task: chase the Dresmondi to the border. It would only last so long, as Hiram would be teleporting away soon.
Hiram closed his eyes and concentrated. He extended his blood awareness, finding his family members where they were spread along the border. There was a concentration of them in the north, so his intention became to teleport to the other, smaller group.
“Let’s go.” He bid the Eldouir with him. Whether they complied or not, his copious amounts of manipulated blood would rear up, seeking to claim and drown them, teleporting them from the south to where Alistair and Adeline were. They’d use the blood of the dead men on ice to rise up and witness the work of their family members.

The witches would be deployed immediately with others being gathered on standby. Hadrian had seen to it that the throne room was kept under guard should the Llewllyns evacuate—both for their own security and as a demonstration of Nevermere’s military readiness. Deployed witches would follow the directions of Arynnite soldiers and take up posts within the city as their commander had instructed.
Their second instruction was to keep their eyes and ears open: not only for signs of the Eldouir, but for any indications as to what the breakdown had been that allowed the gifteds to make such quick work of the kingdom’s defenses.
The tide was turning in Elyusian. Queen Kimora Llewellyn put her trust in the defense minister to see that her orders were carried out to satisfaction. But Prince Akagi Llewellyn had moved swiftly and decisively to eclipse his mother’s authority. Any questions about whether the prince’s contrary orders were a miscommunication or an intentional overstep were answered. For one reason or another, Prince Akagi Llewellyn was seizing control.
That reality was further crystalized for the cabinet when @bowen violently hurled the defense minister across the room with nothing more than a tap of his poleaxe. Kite was caught entirely off-guard and hit the wall with a sickening thud. The other ministers had mixed reactions: some turned to Bowen in horror, others in confusion. For a moment, it was unclear whether the cabinet would follow @bowen ’s commands, but eventually, one moved. Another followed, then another, until all the ministers gathered and moved to the cabinet room. Only Kite remained, forgotten. When he was able to gather himself, unless stopped, he would move to inform his queen of what had just occurred. If or when he arrived, he’d find Akagi Llewellyn there, having successfully found his mother.
@calliope would continue to give commands. The few remaining Arrynnite archers turned their arrows on the metal wall. A few Arrynite soldiers had managed to flee—no more than a dozen—but the rest perished at the hands of the Eldouir and the summoned monster. Any structure that would have provided a portal had been destroyed.
@yeva would return to Hiram Eldouir battered and bruised and @donovan bleeding profusely from his shoulder. Neither would be pursued by Arynnites as they returned to Hiram Eldouir . They would then teleport, arriving at @adeline and @alistar. When Hiram disappeared, the beast he summoned would as well, returning to whence it came.
It wouldn’t be long before Hiram reached @myla , Elena Eldouir , @drystan , and Azazel Eldouir . Whatever the girls had planned, they better hop to it. None of the Eldouir would be under siege from Arynnite forces, the remaining either having disappeared or in the process of retreating.
Hadrian Usher arrived in Elyusian, accompanying his witches. He would arrive at the royal palace and inquire about the queen’s location.

Shrine Magic
Akagi wields a saga enchanted naginata, that when touched allows the wielder to cast bright red orbs that explode on contact. Akagi can cast single orbs or produce up to four orbs in a powerup to cast at once for a bigger explosion.

Akagi was determined to reach the cabinet and so when he crossed paths with his Mother he gave her a weak display of honor, "I've called for an emergency cabinet meeting Mother, anything we have to say together can be saved for the meeting but we have a great deal to discuss."
He gave no room for open discussion and boldly stormed off, he was saving what he had to say for when it mattered. So off he went for the cabinet room sending Peacekeepers and cabinet aids to gather key players of todays events, to survey the extent of damage to the Dresmondi camps and their ships and the loss of life. He sent an emissary to Illianar to wait and collect Hadrian Usher and to fill him in on events of the day but also to invite him to the cabinet meeting.
Yeva would pull in some of her less-human limbs, reabsorbing them into her body one by one but leaving the stumps of where her limbs had been cut off, skin shifting to cover the wounds. Her mouth reshaped itself, teeth shrinking and retracting till they were human-like again if a little sharper. Until Hiram Eldouir said otherwise, she'd be waiting for the next command.

Seeing that there were no longer any enemies around, Elena turned to @myla with a face alight with thrill and mischief. “Come on, let’s go,” she said offering @drystan a grateful smile.
Assuming Myla agreed the two women would depart by flight in the direction of Lorendale.
Calliope would remain in place, white knuckled as her soldiers were obliterated. She would continue to communicate with Harbin, arranging for entrance for the soldiers who did manage to escape. Mentally, she was committing the name of the soldiers who died to memory, having been familiar with each of the peacekeepers under her command. While she did not know the names of the artillery members at this time, she would learn them as soon as she could.
When eventually summoned to the emergency meeting, Calliope would move only when there were no more of her peacekeepers outside the cities, either because they had returned to safety or were dead.

Looking around to confirm there were no longer threats, Azazel shifted back into his human form. Now standing buck naked and proud of it, he looked towards the various misty forms around him. ”Are you gonna stay like that?” he asked @drystan. ”It’s weird.”
The mist swept over the now ruins of the wall, little pockets of denser mist grabbing the occasional pendant that he had seen the soldiers talking through. They had piqued his own curiosity and they were small enough that he could grab several at the least. The densest section continued to pull together, including a floating hand with the clothes that Drystan had left behind in the beginning, and continued moving down the wall in the direction the girls had come from.
If Drystan's mist had a face, he might have given Azazel Eldouir a very dry look. "To each their own."
A very quiet "Enjoy yourselves" would curl around @myla and Elena Eldouir's ears for only them to hear before he pulled his mist back from them.

Hiram wasn’t there to chat.
“Looks like you’re finished.” He declared to Adeline and Alistair. If there was no objection, his blood would start to move to envelope them.
“There’s just one more section of the wall that needs to be taken care of.” He would aim to teleport them to the southern wall, attempting to teleport into Arynnites soldiers that may not have vacated the wall just yet. If there were none, he would look to use nearby wildlife or livestock, ripping through animal bodies to emerge from their blood. In the event that there was no blood at the southern wall to teleport to it, he’d resort to teleporting them as close as he could with whatever he could and then they could make their way to the wall from there.
She already had her title ripped from her… who was Myla to deny her queen? She smirked, turning towards the thicker part of mist, @drystan, “stay safe cousin. Let’s see if we can bring you home a present.” She murmured before she took hold of Elena Eldouir, and with an iridescent red shin still to them, they’d be headed off towards Lorendale. Myla already giving Elena some ideas on how they’d be slipping through the area without others knowing it was truly the red heads.
Bowen had maintained control of the remaining Ministers in the cabinet room, having left the unconscious minister of defense where he lay. He kept his poleaxe at the ready, daring any of them to challenge him, or the Prince, when the man entered. In transfer, he had sent one of his men to find @calliope, and offered her aid or tell her where the Prince had gathered, if she had need of it.
Of course neither Alistair nor Adeline would have any disagreement with what Hiram said, only glee shining in their eyes from a few hours of pure destruction and chaos. They'd wait to be teleported along with the rest of the family, and then Alistair would immediately start blasting at what remained of the wall when they were able to reach it.
With no more enemies to fight, Donovan had sheathed his sword at his side and was now holding his ruined shoulder, blood still seeping out through the wound as Hiram gathered them and teleported them to the others. A bit more subdued now from the pain that crept in as the adrenaline wore off, he would simply stand and watch the end of the destruction unless told otherwise.
With the Arynnite soldiers retreating to fortify the cities, the action had largely drawn to a close. The refugee camp in Dresmond was now eerily silent. The bodies of dozens and dozens of Arynnite soldiers and many Dresmondi lay lifeless. Others had been reduced to crushed and dismembered carnage—a gristly sight, even for the most seasoned soldiers. @calliope would direct those who made it back alive.
The walls had been mostly evacuated. A few that had held on until the last—a noble few—remained. A few on the southerly section of the wall would burst like ground fruit under a bootheel as Hiram Eldouir arrived with @alistair and @adeline (and with @yeva and @donovan still in tow). @donovan would be in poor shape; not mortally wounded, but certainly in need of medical attention—and soon. @adeline and @alistair would do as instructed and start toppling the wall. @alistar’s explosiveness was most effective, dropping whole sections like dynamite to a mountainside.
Azazel Eldouir and @drystan would be left to their own devices without slaughtering soldiers to entertain them. @myla and Elena Eldouir would leave them for Lorendale, the kingdom they once called home.
Akagi Llewellyn and @bowen would make haste to the queen, another conflict starting to brew. Hadrian Usher ’s witches would continue to take up stations around the city. Though the walls were emptied, the apprehension in the cities had not faded. Arynnite citizens were sequestered in their homes, the same question on all of their minds:
Were they next?
