[ Thread immediately follows the queen's address | Made for Remiel Allemeade, @oriana, Florina Bellerose, Elena Eldouir, Regan Lassiter; open to Tybalt Zane and any other of the royal court joining ]
Cassian's feet carried him swiftly from the balcony on which he'd witnessed chaos unfolding and to the room in which the gathered gifteds had been taken. To his knowledge, nothing untoward had transpired while they waited. They didn't need to wait long. The exchange with the Eldouir--for now they knew one was the cause of the problems--had lasted but minutes. They would hardly have settled in the polished sitting room before Cassian entered with Regan in tow. Not long after they stepped into the room would Felicity Zane and a soldier bring in Elena, collared. They would release her and Felicity would take her leave, opting to stand outside the door rather than in the room.
"I am responsible for your transformations into sheep." Cassian started, words that might have been comedic had they left the mouth of someone less severe than he. "With the safety of our queen threatened, I decided no amount of public humiliation was too great." It was an explanation, surely, though certainly not an apology. His dark eyes scanned the crowd, lingering on the distantly familiar face of Florina Bellerose. He'd seen her at the Lady Steward's wedding. A relative of Augustus Rainecourt. He wondered if the prince knew she was gifted.
"There should be no further issues, provided all of you are listed on the registry, and that your registered gifts make your innocence plain." After all, not every gifted had an ability that could make a column move. Cassian had encountered a servant in the hall and sent them to @mara to have the registry brought, either by the woman herself or by the servant. Cassian would be looking for powers of illusion or destruction or something of that sort. He didn't even wonder whether the Eldouir was involved; what he needed to discern was whether or not she had acted alone.
His eyes cut to Elena, and even with his expressionless face there was no denying the wrath in his gaze. It softened when he looked to Remiel.
"You may not have done it for the reward, Allemeade, but I witnessed your actions and will ensure you receive what you are due." Remiel had, after all, saved Regan and Tybalt both. Cassian's gaze lingered as he gave an appreciative nod of his head.
