The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Augustus’s eyebrows would raise as King Cassian Rainecourt took up the fallen witch in his arms. He knew her as his huntsman but had very little understanding of what that meant. But the significance of the taciturn king holding a woman so close—in front of his wife, no less—wasn’t lost on the prince. He glanced at @iliana, who was now ordering the Eldouir out as the witch was handed off.
Cassian Rainecourt and @iliana would depart, and Augustus would not follow. For the first time, he looked at his niece, not with fatherly compassion but wariness. Tybalt Zane would depart with Remiel Allemeade and still the prince would stand. After a moment, he’d turn to Scout Kane.
“Walk with me, if you please, Lady Steward.” If Scout would follow, Augustus would say to any nearby palace guard, “And if someone would be so good as to fetch my wife.”
The healers would begin to work on Regan as soon as they had her in their care and would work on her for a time right there in the room before they’d feel secure enough to move her somewhere safely. By some miracle, her vertebre had only been shifted slightly before she’d altered herself into fire. The symptoms would be long term headaches, tingling in her fingertips, and occasional numbness in her left arm when moved at uncommon angles. It might take a bit if magic to heal it completely but it was certain within the realms of possibility.
[Severity of illness decided by d6 die roll, the higher the number the more severe the injury. The video will be posted in the plot chatter on discord for my roll.]
Ring of enchanted combat: ring that, when twisted around the finger three times, enhances one's combat abilities (the equivalent of ten additional combat points).

When Augustus Rainecourt addressed her, she looked at him. She shot Florina Bellerose an apologetic look, because she had to leave, and walked over to the prince. "Of course, your highness."

Elena was pulled from the room by guards, rather aggressively she thought, not that she blamed them. It hadn't been her who had caused the most damage today but she wasn't so naive to think this wasn't about past crimes as much as present ones. She batted her lashes flirtatiously at one of the guards. "Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes," she purred. All she got was a tightened hand around her arm as the man refused to look down at her. She chuckled and walked casually with them down to the cell she was put in. At least no one could say she hadn't tried to warn them.
Magic Detection: The ability to detect magic. The user can judge magical aptitude, pinpoint magic being used within a mile vicinity, and even detect when potent magic has formerly been used in a space. The magic may originate from a living thing or from an object, it does not matter. There is no restriction to the kind of magic that the user can detect. The weakness is the spatial awareness limitation, and while the user can detect the presence of magic, they cannot detect the specific kind of magic being used.

Florina saw Scout Kane’s apologetic look, and attempted a smile back, although there would be no joy behind it. She was still rather frightened by the explosive fire that still had her skin feeling sore and overused. She wished very much to go home, and if she were allowed to leave, she would attempt to leave the room after a deep curtsy to Cassian Rainecourt and @iliana. She prospect of an audience with her monarchs was nerve wrecking, but she would have to figure out a way to cope with the stress until her inevitable meeting with them.
