The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Honora was deaf to the room, to any surprise at the arrival of the unexpected guests. Quinton Featherton was all that mattered. Her mouth went dry when he smiled, her resolve wavering for just a moment before she smiled back and offered her hand.

Azazel had spotted the encounter between Hiram and the host with a sense of awe and admiration. One day he would love to command any room he entered the way that Hiram Eldouir did. He was so damn impressive and Azazel was getting hard in his severe lack of any real clothing to see the fear on the faces of those who had noticed the Eldouir. No disguise or anything. Definitely impressive.
He noticed that Avalon Eldouir had lost her prey for the time being though he was sure she'd soon get it back. After all, it seemed the dancing was about to start. Grinning, he looked around the room to see who he might convince to join him. He had half a mind to ask Alaric Melbourne just to see the look on his face but decided against it. When he saw a woman asking Hiram to dance, Azazel would hover just behind the group. Should Hiram agree to dance with Annabeth then Azazel would immediately be in front of Florina Bellerose with a smile and an offer of his hand and a dance. His plan would depend entirely on what Hiram chose to do.

[TG: memories of gore and torture]
Quinton stared into Honora Allemeade’s eyes, a charming smile on his lips that didn’t quite march his eyes. The flashes of memories of that time in Simmy’s special cabin were far too delectable for him to fully wear the mask of a man who was truly as nice as he made himself out to be. He allowed his eye to rove to her neck, where the collar had been. Quinton found himself once again disappointed that he’d not been able to snatch the ring away from Simmy after he’d sliced his old friend’s fingers off.
He reached out and took Honora’s hand and would start to lead her out to the dance floor, “It has been too long,” he said, “I did not think you’d be so direct the next time we met,” a small smile that showed only hint of teeth, “How bold of you. Tell me, is Simmy’s dear cousin with you as well, or were you wanting me all to yourself?”
Explosive generation - Avalon is able to create and direct explosions at people and objects.
Some kind of force shoots from her fingertips that creates an explosion upon collision with her target. She can use this to direct an explosion at someone's feet, or to make an object, like for example a barrel or rock, explode. They explosion is generated within her person, and fired from her hands, meaning the explosion doesn't manifest within the target, but comes from her.

Her skin reacted to Cezar Scorza 's touch, and she moved her head to the side so he could whisper in her ear. His breath on her neck as he spoke gave her goosebumps. A mischievous , perhaps even evil grin appeared on Avalon's face as he mentioned his wife. Visions of riding Cezar while making his wife watch came over her, and although Hiram wasn't using his magic on her, she felt a similar sensation as Florina between her legs. Little did she kno Cezar was married to his sister, but if she had known, she might have just been into it even more.
Before she had the chance to respond, she noticed Hiram Eldouir , and Cezar noticed Tallis Scorza , making it the ideal moment to say their goodbyes for now. "I will", she responded breathily before walking forward, in the direction of Hiram, before Cezar even really left.
She then walked past the three of them, again in the direction of Cezar Scorza . "Is this the wife I'm up against?" Avalon looked Tallis Scorza up and down. "Perhaps, now my cousin has arrived, and you're done ogling him, we can go for that dance you promised me." She grinned almost insanely, now she had revealed she was an Eldouir. Only those next to Cezar would have heard it, though, unless any of them was to shout it through the room.

Hiram glanced Annabeth Porter, his eyes passing over her, a slight frown following. Clearly he didn’t know who she was. That night in the alley and the trial that followed had likely changed her life, yet for the brute it had been just another day, just another woman.
Ignoring her—Avalon had words, anyway—he returned his attention to Florina Bellerose.
“Make me.” He practically purred in response, enjoying the way her bountiful chest was heaving, the light in her eyes, the plumpness of her lips. His golden gaze slithered over her without reserve. “I want to taste you.” He stepped in a little closer. If she was sensitive to her body she would feel the slightest pressure in her nose. Otherwise, she would be unaware of the trickle of blood coming from her nose. He wouldn’t let it stain her pretty lips. Instead it would leap from her skin, travel the air between them, and slip between his parted lips.

Completely ingnoring Avalon as she more forcus on protacting Florina as Annabeth know this trick that Hiram playing he used it on her. Annabeth stepped in front of Hiram. Her back facing Hiram Eldouir. She gave a small smile at Florina as she looked around the room, nobody seems to know she trying to keep Florina safe. She might pay for it better her then somebody else. "Pardon me, my Lady. I need to need your assistance for something." If Florina Bellerose let her Annabeth linked arms with her and whispered, "I will not let him hurt you." Her eyes was soft.
Spider Physiology - the power to possess the abilities of a spider. For Acacia, this consists of five elements (venomous bite, webs, enchanted strength, enhanced eyesight/darkvision, the ability to crawl up walls).
For more information on these elements, see character application.

Personally, Acacia was having a great time. There was chaos, now the Eldouir had arrived, plural, apparently. The Scorzas were powerful enough, so she wasn't afraid of having the Eldouir here. If anything, they had similar goals. There was one woman here though that was annoying her intensely. Why was Annabeth Porter trying to rob them from a good time.
"Should we take her out?" she asked, leaning towards Tallis Scorza. She chuckled. Was she serious or not? She wasn't sure herself.
Magic Detection: The ability to detect magic. The user can judge magical aptitude, pinpoint magic being used within a mile vicinity, and even detect when potent magic has formerly been used in a space. The magic may originate from a living thing or from an object, it does not matter. There is no restriction to the kind of magic that the user can detect. The weakness is the spatial awareness limitation, and while the user can detect the presence of magic, they cannot detect the specific kind of magic being used.

Florina felt the presence of someone (Annabeth Porter) step closer, but she did not dare look away from the redhead (Hiram Eldouir). Maybe it was the desire he was making her feel, or maybe it was some instinct in her that did not let her look away from the predator in the room, she didn’t know which. The person who’d stepped closer, a woman she did not know, spoke, asking the rather forward Elouir for a dance. He didn’t appear to be interested in the slightest, and she found herself oddly relieved.
Well, perhaps it wasn’t so odd. Whatever magic the man was doing to make her body ache was certainly affecting her thoughts. The way he looked at her, how his eyes roved her body as if she’d allowed more than just her shoulders to be bare should have scandalized her. She was used to be treated with decorum and respect, not like…this. It had been a long time since her late husband, the only man she’d ever lain with, had been intimate with her. She found herself thinking of when things had been pleasant and quietly risqué. She licked her lips then blushed when she realized what she’d done.
She didn’t feel the pressure in her nose, but she did feel the surge of his magic, the magic drawing her eye to something that flew from her face and to his mouth. Frowning, she reached up to her face, intending to find the source of that unknown object, but he moved closer, sensually issuing his challenge. Before Florina could do or say anything to make him stop, the other woman was speaking again.
Florina finally tore her eyes from Hiram to look at the woman and blinked, unable to think clearly enough to pick up that she was trying to give her an out—if that was something even on the table at that point. Later, Florina would wonder if she would have even taken that out if the man wasn’t using his magic to make her feel the way she was. And honestly, from the way he was looking and talking to her, he wasn’t interested in hurting her. Bedding her, yes, but hurt? Probably not. Not yet anyways. And Florina considered her a decent judge of knowing if a man was about to hurt her. Her late husband, after all, had spent most of their marriage hurting her.
“It’s alright,” she said to the woman, her voice still having that breathy quality to it. She really needed to get a hold of herself. It was his magic making her feel this way, not her natural desires, “I have dealt with brutish men before.”
Post by Tallis Scorza on Mar 30, 2024 11:19:11 GMT -5
Tallis was still cackling, leaning toward Acacia to hear her comment about Annabeth Porter to send her laughing anew. What a pitiable creature Annabeth was—unfortunately, pity was not something that ever held much water with Tallis. Ranchers did not pity weak creatures. They put them out of their misery.
It was then that she was approached by another, cutting her conversation with Acacia Scorza short. She wasn’t at all jealous when the woman made eyes at her “husband”. Cezar Scorza was a handsome man, and it was hardly the first time that she’d been witness to others of her sex falling over themselves. In fact, she found it rather amusing. It was what the woman said that really caught her attention.
Cousin.
It was enough to bring her laughter to a hault. Tallis raised her eyebrows for a moment in surprise then grinned. “You needn’t compete with me,” Tallis teased back, a manic glint in her eye, “What’s a shared dance among friends…” Tallis smirked at Acacia Scorza before turning her eyes back to Avalon Eldouir. Without so much as a glance in the woman’s direction, Tallis would rot the dress around Annabeth Porter’s body, her undergarments next until the woman stood naked. Tallis remained fixed on Avalon Eldouir, making no movement that would at all indicate she was paying the least bit of attention to Annabeth or had exercised any sort of magic…to the outside eye. She whispered to Avalon.
“Oops.”

Honora started to dance. Her steps were light and graceful, as if this were just another ball, another turn about the floor. Her muscle memory did not require her eyes to leave Quinton, a blue so impossibly light her eyes looked more light shattered diamonds.
“I have nothing to fear from you. Not anymore. As for Zahaela, she’s mine…” His mind was within her reach, she seized it, pulling his consciousness close.
“As are you.”
Honora would flood Quinton Featherton’s mind with affection, with lust, with desire for her beauty as desperate and longing as a childhood crush until Quinton was starry-eyed and smitten as they continued to twirl.

Once Annabeth started noticed that her dress was started rotting she started quickly moving her way out of the room. Making sure that she was out of the room before she was completely in the nude and tried to get into the carriage that she arrived in. She informed her driver to get her home as soon as possible.
Before she went she summoned a staff member. "Ask Scout Kane to make sure Florina doesn't go anywhere alone with Hiram, he using his gift on her." Then she left.

Quinton probably should have known better than to let himself be close to someone like Honora. It appeared that Quinton had more things in common with his late friend than he’d thought. Hubris was apparently contagious. If only he knew before the saw started to twist his mind into something he’d never felt before.
Genuine affection.
Perhaps the sow--no, not a sow, but a radiant rose—meant to punish him. But how could such feelings that he was feeling for the first time in his life be anything but a blessing? Before then, any emotions that the count felt were muted, parodies of actual feelings. But his love opened his eyes, and it was like seeing color for the first time in his life.
“Of course I’m yours, Petal,” he crooned to his love, “How could I belong to the most beautiful woman in the room?”

Hiram wasn’t offended in the least when Florina Bellerose called him a brute. No, he was too busy smiling and enjoying her blood. The moment it hit his tongue it sang of the magic within. He didn’t immediately know what it was or how to use it, but he knew magic blood when he tasted it. His eyes fluttered closed for a moment and he hummed delightedly as if he had judged tasted a fine wine.
“Beautiful and gifted.” He murmured loudly enough for Florina to hear. His eyes came open again and the distance between them would be closed unless she moved, Hiram’s arm snaking up and around her waist, drawing her to himself. There was a fire in his eyes.
“Dance with me.” His gaze flickered down to her chest once more, and unless there was intervention he would behind to dance with her right there, dance floor or not.
The rest of the room and guests be damned, clearly.
There is no glory in battle if no blood is lost.

My aren’t you a clever one?
Zahaela’s voice teased her as something twisted in Honora’s gut. It was easy—too easy. Honora had started to believe that her gift was no gift at all. But now, she could see the depth and possibility of its power which both thrilled her and terrified her. The power to shape. To mold. To fix what was broken and make something new.
Yours, yours. What will you do—make a puppy of a wild curr? Or kill it before it bites again?
Stop.
“Then why don’t you come with me, Lord Featherton?” Honora said sweetly, still twirling across the floor, “Somewhere we can be together…” Honora’s voice shook for a moment, trailing off as she continued to wrap Quinton in the warmth of pure, amorous love.

Florina had looked away from the other woman, but she felt the spark of magic touch her, making her briefly turn her head to see what was happening only to find her gone.
She didn’t have time to see where she went, to see what happened because she felt Hiram Eldouir draw closer to her. She gasped, and tried to step back, to put more space between them, but her feet didn’t detach themselves from the floor fast enough. His arm looped around her, and her heart beat faster at the contact. She was too aware of the heat of his body near hers. Her fingers trembled, but she wasn’t sure if it was from the fear that lingered, or the desire he was inducing.
“How did you know…” she weakly braced her hands against him, as if to push him away, “…that I am gifted?” Her gift was so subtle…had she given herself away somehow? She thought of that strange something that had flown from her face to his mouth. Had that had something to do with his knowledge?
She would not try to stop him when they started to dance. Even without her pulse racing in a way that made her want to be closer to him, to allow liberties she knew she should not allow, she would have been too frightened to do anything. Her late husband, she realized, had trained her to be compliant. Too compliant. That realization along with the knowledge that he was using magic to make her feel the way she was was the only thing that kept her from doing something she would regret later, like press her body flush against his, forsaking propriety.
