The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

There had been a time in which Cezar had often tried to make Tallis Scorza jealous, to try to get a reaction out of her that might show him that she wanted him more than she let on, but her lack of interest in sharing a bed had remained steady. He had eventually realized it wasn't a lack of interest or even a choice, that it was an inherent part of her. It had been hard. He still wanted her that way. He wanted her in every way. But he'd learned to adapt and find release in other ways even though he was sure his ache to be with her would never fade. Twin or not, he loved her and desired her as much as he always had.
Still, he grinned when she assured Avalon that she was no competition. It was why he hadn't hesitated to tell Avalon he was married, he knew it wouldn't be a hinderance to their potential fun.
He caught on to that title of 'cousin' just as Tallis did and his interest in the woman shifted. Not any more or less, just different. A new goal in mind, a new determination. She was Eldouir. His gaze heated as he looked at Avalon Eldouir, his tongue teasing his bottom lip, barely noticing the way Tallis had used her gift so subtly. He'd wait for any response from Avalon towards Tallis before he stepped towards her with his hand outstretched. "No time like the present," he said with a handsome smile, "take a spin about the room with me?"
Blast Generation - Avalon is able to generate blasts of powerful, pressurized air at whatever she targets.
A pressure-force generates in her core that creates a blast. She can direct this blast at people or objects. This means that if someone stands in the way of the blast force, it will not go through the person but hit them instead. If someone knows about her Gift and is feeling heroic, they would be able to throw themselves between her and her target to intercept her attack. This would result in them taking the blow.
The force of power behind Avalon’s blast is determined by how much she “charges” the attack. Charging looks like her focusing contained magical power into her core that she then releases at will. An attack with lesser pressure will be generated and released in a single post. An attack with moderate power will be charged for one post and released in the next post. Her most powerful blasts need to be charged for two posts and released in the third. For context, the most powerful blast from Avalon can tear apart stone, earth, and sometimes even metals.
Apart from power, Avalon can also manipulate the size and precision of her attacks. Sometimes they are large and all-encompassing, like a hurricane, and sometimes they are small and specific, like the loosing of an arrow. She can release any size in a single post, and the wreckage it causes is then determined by how much power she charged into it.

Friends. She smiled fakely Tallis Scorza. "I'd like to friendly bed your man afterwards, but I'm sure we can discuss the details later", she said, the smile never faltering, not even for a second. The intensity with which Tallis stared at her made Ava aware that something was happing around them, especially when the woman said 'oops'. Out of the corner of her eye she saw that Annabeth had lost her clothes and the undergarments were starting to rot away as well. This was no ordinary moth. This was a Gift. The smile now turned into a genuine grin. She swiped her hair behind her shoulder and fluttered her eyelashes at Tallis. "Oh, but you seem interesting as well. Perhaps we could have some fun.
Cezar Scorza extended his hand, and as she took it, she looked one last time at Annabeth, a soft laugh coming from her mouth. "Let's spin", she replied. She faced Cezar again and placed a hand on his chest, whole the other held onto his hand. She would dance with ease to the music, the correct dance for the music and vibe, but just a little more sensual and sexy than one normally would. Over Cezar's shoulder, she would maintain eye contact with Tallis Scorza. Whether this was to challenge her or to undress her with her eyes, was for Tallis to figure out.

Quinton grinned with genuine joy as he and his love twirled across the dance floor. The world was so much brighter than it had moments before, and the count knew it was all because of the precious treasure that had reappeared so unexpectedly. How had he not seen her this way before? How could she have only been a strange object to pleasure himself with? How could he have been so blind? Honora Allemeade was a greater gift than he could ever have imagined.
Her offer was as enticing as water in the desert, “There are the gardens,” he murmured, his eyes darting to her lips, “Or I have some rooms that are more private, if you prefer.”

Tallis smirked as her brother took Avalon Eldouir’s hand, practically bursting with delight. It tickled her, honestly, to see the metaphorical dance Cezar did to woo women. And what a woman he’d chosen. She did, admittedly, purse her lips a hair at the mention of taking Cezar to her bed. Not jealousy, necessarily but…the assumption. Cezar was hers, and he would not go anywhere she did not allow. But still, she couldn’t help but grin back as Avalon watched her over her brother’s shoulder.
“Well then,” Tallis said, wrapping her arm around Acacia Scorza as she watched a nude Annabeth Porter make her escape, “What shall we get into next?” Tallis momentarily glanced to make sure Gianna Pasqualin was still alright and then turned to the man who’d been panting like a puppy after Hiram. He’d been there with Avalon Eldouir, who had made her identity known. Perhaps…
“Come, darling. Let’s have some fun.” Tallis tugged Acacia Scorza by the arm. Randomly throughout the hall, some women and men would find their clothes starting to disintegrate, the random gasp of shock or shriek of surprise sounding as a man lost his trousers or a woman’s bodice would start to slip. In fact, Winifred Whistlebottom would find the laces if her dress starting to lose their integrity.
“It seems you’ve lost two potential dance partners,” Tallis called to Azazel Eldouir as they approached, meaning Florina and Avalon, “Good thing you’ve found two more.” Tallis kissed Acacia Scorza on the cheek as she shot a glittering smile at Azazel.

Spider Physiology - the power to possess the abilities of a spider. For Acacia, this consists of five elements (venomous bite, webs, enchanted strength, enhanced eyesight/darkvision, the ability to crawl up walls).
For more information on these elements, see character application.

So not only Hiram was here, but another Eldouir as well? Things just kept on getting better. Acacia didn't really acknowledge the whole 'stealing your man' thing Avalon was doing, because she only cared about Tallis right now. She wanted to have fun with her cousin, not listen to some horny women fawn over her other cousin (or cousin's husband, because Aenwyn can not remember if Acacia knows that Cezar is Tallis' brother).
She would follow Tallis Scorza , a mischievous grin forming on her face as people's clothes started to rot off their bodies. "I wish my Gift was as subtle as yours", she said softly with a sigh. Shooting spiderwebs or boring people would draw too much attention.
And her cousin had more ideas to make this party fun. She walked them over to a young man (Azazel Eldouir ) who had been talking to Avalon earlier. Did... Did Tallis want her to get to know this man? She looked him up and down before a smile appeared on her face, and she extended her gloved hand so he could kiss it. "Acacia Barlowe", she said. She looked at Tallis after. Did she still need to use her fake last name?

Yes, Azazel had been hovering to get Hiram's leftovers if things with Florina hadn't worked out but it was less about Florina and more about the fact that she'd be Hiram's leftovers than anything else. He was close enough to hear the conversations from both Hiram and Avalon but had been hovering in the back like a vulture looking to dive in on what was left behind so when the women who'd been speaking with Avalon approached him his face lit up with interest.
Two? Really? Damn, maybe there was a lesson in patience here. His eyes sparkled with delight and mischief at Tallis Scorza and then took Acacia Scorza's offered hand and brushed his lips softly over her skin before kissing her hand. "Azazel...Eldouir," might as well introduce himself properly now that the cat was out of the bag, no use in hiding now. Besides they looked smart enough to have put two and two together. "An absolute pleasure to meet you, Acacia and..." he looked to Tallis with a smirking expectant grin.

Winnie didn’t notice her laces were loose right away, but it didn’t take her long to find out, “Oh my!” She gasped after she felt something on her gown loosen, “Oh dear!” She was so embarrassed. Was she so old now that she was unable to see if her gowns were properly maintained or not? She needed to leave before she embarrassed herself.

Annabeth Porter's message reached Scout. She would keep an eye out. She didn't like this at all. Honours was dancing with Quinton, and Hiram was with Florina. She would keep an eye on her friend. She wanted to intervene, but doing nothing would be better for now. She then noticed Mysie Allemeade and would walk over there. She noticed people were starting to lose their clothes. Someone was using their Gift. She needed Florina Bellerose to tell her who, but couldn't get to her friend right now.
"Lady Allemeade", she said, with a nervous smile. "Do you have any idea what the relationship is between your cousin and Lord Featherton?"

Mysie was standing to the side as she looked at what is happening. She was keeping an eye on things when she noticed Lady Scout was walking towards her. She raised her eyebrows softly as she wondered how she knew her and she wanted to sigh softly because she wasn't one to flunt that she was a Allemeade, she wanted to have her own name, she doesn't want Allemeade to be her identity though.
She looked towards the person who she assumed was Honoura. "We haven't really talked, so I don't know the relationship between Lady Allemeade and Lord Featherton." She gave a apologetic smile. "sorry."

Quinton Featherton’s gaze was almost enough to melt the skin from her bones with disgust…but it didn’t show. She kept dancing, turning about the floor, a perfect picture of a woman being swept away in a magical night.
“I know a place…” Honora murmured as she slipped a vision into Quinton’s mind. It was a beautiful scene, one with moonlight and a shimmering pond, a warm blanket under a scattering of stars, dripping with impossible wonderment. As soon as the vision came, it faded again.
“Come with me.” It was her turn for her eyes to drop to his lips before flickering upwards…a honeyed trap set to catch a fly.

Eldouir.
They were back.
Tallis’s grin grew to match Azazel Eldouir’s, wide and glittering as she held out her hand. She still kept Acacia close, heart racing as the manic twitch of her excitement started to take hold. Cezar Scorza was the only one who had ever been able to talk her down. Once Tallis started rolling, she was reckless, chasing joy or rage wherever it took her. She held out her hand.
“Tallis…” She considered him for a moment, head tilted before saying quietly with relish, “Scorza.” She glanced at Acacia with a look of victory. “My cousin and I have wondered when you would return,” She looked back at Azazel, smirking with satisfaction, "Things have been rather dull around here."

Quinton nearly shut his eyes at the vision in his head. So beautiful. So cosy. So intimate. He could picture the both of them, completely bare and enjoying eachother’s bodies. The thought made him even more eager for her, and he’d forget all the people in the room and lean in to try and steal a kiss from her pretty lips.
Whether she allowed him to or not, he would keep his face close to hers and whisper so only she would hear, “Where is this place you know of, petal? You should lead me there…”

Hiram smiled down at Florina Bellerose, and surely for a moment the rumors of the monstrous thing he did would seem like unkind slander. He was a handsome man, a noble of Lorendale by birth, and knew how to step his way through this waltz. Surely he couldn’t be so bad?
“I am the Lord of blood.” He told her, a pride in his tone, and wasn’t it true? His rerouting of her blood wasn’t continuous; if she continued to remain charged in all the right places then it was a result of her own bodily instincts, intentional or not.
Hiram’s eyes flickered up. His eyes widened slightly before they returned to her.
“What is this?” His gaze raked her face. “What is it your magic does?” He could push and exert effort to try to discern what exactly, but it was always easier to ask, wasn’t it?
Magic Detection: The ability to detect magic. The user can judge magical aptitude, pinpoint magic being used within a mile vicinity, and even detect when potent magic has formerly been used in a space. The magic may originate from a living thing or from an object, it does not matter. There is no restriction to the kind of magic that the user can detect. The weakness is the spatial awareness limitation, and while the user can detect the presence of magic, they cannot detect the specific kind of magic being used.

Florina, although not skilled at all with a blade had always had a knack for anything musical. Dancing was something she’d always liked to do. It was a way to enjoy music without playing or singing herself. Hiram Eldouir would likely find Florina an elegant follow, moving in unison with his expertly lead steps. For some reason, his adeptness at the waltz surprised her. When she thought of the Eldouir, it was the image of uncultured beasts that always came to mind, but this one…did not seem so bad, despite the manipulation to her baser instincts. The contrast between what she’d believed versus what she now confused her. Surely he was tricking her? But it was difficult to think. Although she no longer felt his magic touch her, she still found herself…affected. Despite him being an Eldouir, he was a very handsome man, tall and muscular, with eyes that reminded her of a tiger…and it really did not help her sensibilities that he was shirtless. She was not used to seeing men being so undressed in public, and she had a very close view. And his smile…softened his face…
Stars above! There had to be something wrong with her. Bad! Bad! This was an Eldouir, an enemy of the kingdom….a man that used magic to make her want…things. Things that she’d not been able to enjoy even in her marriage. Surely, this was some result of her mind protecting itself. She’d heard of such things before.
Then he revealed who he was. The Lord of Blood. It took only a breath for it to sink in, then her heart rate picked up and adrenaline made her limbs tingle, “You’re Hiram Eldouir?” The words were not shouted. No, the words were said in quiet alarm, more to herself than to him, although they were spoken loud enough that the redhead would be able to hear her. She was dancing with Hiram Eldouir. Things started to make sense. The way her blood had raced in excitement, the object that flew from her face—that was her blood! He drank her blood. Oh, he drank her blood. How unsettling. If she were a braver person, maybe she would have tried to throw his arms off of her and put distance between them, but Florina was not a brave person, and in all honesty, perhaps the smart thing to do was not to be brave. Inaction could also be the smart thing to do. And it wasn’t like he was hurting her just then. She kept dancing with him.
She saw the shock—or perhaps realization—on his face, watched him study her, “I can,” She hesitated, then started again, “…I’m not--” she tightened her grip on him without realizing what she was doing. She was about to say that she wasn’t supposed to tell, but that wasn’t entirely true anymore. She was the gifted advisor, and her gift was no longer limited to just a few people. She'd gone nearly her whole life with hardly anybody knowing that she was gifted at all, and now everyone in Terra Nova seemed to be finding out about it. Hiram was the last person who should know, but if he could taste the magic in her blood…he’d find out sooner or later anyways, “I sense magic.”

Honora would stop the kiss. Out of instinct, she’d put her hand on his chest to keep him from closing the distance between them entirely. Her heart was racing as she felt his breath whisper against her skin. It made her stomach turn so much that she feared she might vomit on the spot.
“Come with me,” Honora whispered back, taking him by the hand, “Come with me and I’ll show you. I know how you love surprises.” With a flirtatious tease, Honora took his hand and attempted to tug him from the dancefloor toward the exit.
